Lauheit.... weakness of will.... slackness in prayer....

The more lukewarm a person is, the stronger the influence he has to fear from the adversary. He then neither offers resistance nor strives for God's strength and is therefore in the greatest danger of becoming weak and succumbing. He should always bear in mind that the ascent to the heights is arduous and that a slackening of his willpower very easily results in a step backwards, which requires renewed effort in order to catch up. The adversary is vigilant, i.e. he does not miss a single moment of a person's weakness, but the latter should also be vigilant so that he does not expose his soul to the danger of being oppressed by the adversary. And the weaker he feels, the more fervently he should pray for strength. But even if he begins to become lukewarm in prayer, the adversary's power over him is great. And yet he cannot be spared the struggle against this power. Spiritual beings certainly stand by him, but their help has to be requested because they cannot become active without the call. And in hours of weakness of will the human being often omits this call as well, and then he is defencelessly at the mercy of the adversary's power. And he has to fight the battle against him himself, which is often very difficult. And it is always the weakening of prayer that causes his willpower to weaken. The more often and more intimately a person unites himself with God, the less he is exposed to the influences of the enemy, because both at the same time, the power from God and the power of the adversary, cannot be effective. But the power from God is always stronger and excludes every activity of evil forces. In hours of need, of lukewarmness and weakness of will, a heartfelt call for the support of good beings suffices and the work of those beings will already be stopped. Only the will to do good must still be present in the human being, and soon the fervour of prayer will also increase again and the human being will have escaped the danger....

Quanto mais morna é uma pessoa, mais forte é a influência do adversário que ela tem a temer. Então ele não oferece resistência nem luta pelo poder de Deus, e assim corre o maior perigo de se tornar fraco e sucumbir. Ele deve ter sempre em mente que a subida à altura é árdua e que um afrouxamento da sua força de vontade resulta muito facilmente num passo atrás, o que mais uma vez requer um esforço de força para ser apanhado. O adversário está vigilante, isto é, não perde um momento de fraqueza do ser humano, mas este também deve estar vigilante para que não exponha a sua alma ao perigo de ser molestado pelo adversário. E quanto mais fraco ele sente, mais avidamente deve rezar por força. Mas se ele também começa a ficar morno na oração, o poder do adversário sobre ele é grande. E mesmo assim não pode ser poupado à luta contra este poder. Os seres espirituais certamente estão a seu lado, porém sua ajuda tem que ser solicitada porque não podem se tornar ativos sem o chamado. E o ser humano muitas vezes negligencia esse chamado em horas de fraqueza de vontade, e depois fica indefeso à mercê do adversário. E ele próprio deve travar a batalha contra ele, o que muitas vezes é muito difícil. E é sempre o afrouxamento na oração que provoca o enfraquecimento da sua força de vontade. Quanto mais frequente e mais intimamente o ser humano se une a Deus, menos se expõe às influências do inimigo, pois tanto a força de Deus como o poder do adversário não podem tornar-se eficazes. No entanto, o poder de Deus é sempre mais forte e exclui todo trabalho das forças do mal. Em horas de necessidade, de tibieza e fraqueza de vontade, basta um apelo sincero ao apoio de seres bons e o trabalho desses já está parado. Apenas a vontade de fazer o bem deve ainda estar presente no ser humano, e em breve a sinceridade da oração aumentará novamente e o ser humano terá escapado ao perigo...._>Amém
