Immortality of the soul....

The teaching of the immortality of the soul is not accepted by many people because they compare it to earthly transience. In their opinion nothing on earth is permanent, everything passes away, and hence they believe that they are no exception to this natural law. The earthly body decays indeed, that is, it seemingly disintegrates and passes away. But the human being does not consider that the apparent disappearance is only the means of transition into a new form. On reflection he will have to conclude that everything earthly serves some purpose, and he will observe that even the most insignificant creations are somehow related to one another and therefore not without purpose.

When such a work of creation fades away numerous other creations absorb the remainder of the first, which thus serves them and continues to live on in the new creations. He only has to seriously observe an outer transformation and he would have to admit that the inner life cannot vanish either. And he should at least grant the human being this inner life too.... he has to make it clear to himself that the human soul, the emotional life, cannot be discontinued arbitrarily.... that this emotional life is the essential significance of every embodiment. The outer form is of no use unless the inner core is acknowledged by humanity.

L’Immortalità dell’anima

La dottrina dell’immortalità dell’anima è inammissibile per molti uomini, perché usano la misura del mondo – caduco. Sulla Terra non esiste nulla che abbia consistenza, tutto è soltanto passeggero secondo l’opinione di questi uomini, quindi credono, di non fare nessuna eccezione di questa legge della natura. Il corpo terreno decade proprio così, cioè, apparentemente si dissolve e passa; ma l’uomo non riflette, che l’apparente passare è soltanto un mezzo per una nuova formazione. Con qualche riflessione dovrà riconoscere che tutto il terreno serve a qualche scopo ed egli osserverà, che persino le Creazioni più insignificanti sono in un certo collegamento e quindi non sono senza scopo. Se ora una tale Opera di Creazione passa, allora innumerevoli altre Creazioni assumono in loro i resti della prima e quindi servono a queste e continuano a vivere nelle nuove Creazioni. Deve soltanto osservare seriamente un cambiamento esteriore, allora deve anche ammettere, che la vita interiore non può passare. E questa vita interiore deve concedere almeno anche all’uomo, deve rendersi conto, che l’anima dell’uomo, la vita dei sentimenti, non è da finire arbitrariamente, che questa vita dei sentimenti è il vero senso per ogni incorporazione. La forma esteriore non serve a nulla, se non viene riconosciuto il nucleo interiore da parte dell’umanità.
