Immortality of the soul....

The teaching of the immortality of the soul is not accepted by many people because they compare it to earthly transience. In their opinion nothing on earth is permanent, everything passes away, and hence they believe that they are no exception to this natural law. The earthly body decays indeed, that is, it seemingly disintegrates and passes away. But the human being does not consider that the apparent disappearance is only the means of transition into a new form. On reflection he will have to conclude that everything earthly serves some purpose, and he will observe that even the most insignificant creations are somehow related to one another and therefore not without purpose.

When such a work of creation fades away numerous other creations absorb the remainder of the first, which thus serves them and continues to live on in the new creations. He only has to seriously observe an outer transformation and he would have to admit that the inner life cannot vanish either. And he should at least grant the human being this inner life too.... he has to make it clear to himself that the human soul, the emotional life, cannot be discontinued arbitrarily.... that this emotional life is the essential significance of every embodiment. The outer form is of no use unless the inner core is acknowledged by humanity.

L'Immortalité de l'âme

La doctrine de l'immortalité de l'âme est inadmissible pour beaucoup d'hommes, parce qu'ils la comparent à la mesure du monde : la caducité. Sur la Terre il n'existe rien qui ait de la consistance, tout est seulement passager selon l'opinion de ces hommes, donc ils croient ne devoir faire aucune exception à cette loi de la nature. Le corps terrestre se délabre vraiment ainsi, c'est-à-dire qu’apparemment il se dissout et passe ; mais l'homme ne réfléchit pas que cette disparition apparente est seulement un moyen pour une nouvelle forme. Avec quelque réflexion il devrait reconnaître que tout le terrestre sert à un certain but et il observera que, même les Créations les plus insignifiantes, ont un certain lien entre elles et donc ne sont pas sans but. Si maintenant une telle Œuvre de Création passe, alors d’innombrables autres Créations absorbent en elles les restes de la première et donc elles se servent de celles-ci et continuent à vivre dans les nouvelles Créations. On doit seulement observer un sérieux changement extérieur, alors on doit aussi admettre que la vie intérieure ne peut pas passer. Et cette vie intérieure doit au moins être concédée à l'homme, il doit se rendre compte que l'âme de l'homme, la vie des sentiments ne finit pas arbitrairement, que cette vie des sentiments est le vrai sens de chaque incarnation. La forme extérieure ne sert à rien si le noyau intérieur n'est pas reconnu par l'humanité.
