Food for the soul.... spiritual food....

Purely spiritual food is the nourishment of the soul, which can only be offered to you from above. It is a favour from God, which man cannot measure, for He gives man something undeserved, as it were. He gives him loving means for the soul's higher development, He makes everything available to him through which the human being can attain perfection. He pours out divine grace upon the earthly child in the most abundant measure in order to make the path upwards passable for him, and thus He instructs people. And this instruction is the bread of heaven, spiritual nourishment for the soul. Man also needs nourishment to maintain his body, and this is always and constantly imparted to him through God's goodness. But the nourishment the soul needs is of a different kind. The soul can only be considered spiritually because it is the union of spiritual potencies, which are therefore of spiritual origin. These soul potencies must now be supplied with something which is supernatural, which is taken from the spiritual kingdom and can only be perceived by the soul with the spiritual eye. And so the soul is now fed with a nourishment that contributes to the increase of the spiritual, the soul is spiritualized as it were, which was previously turned towards the earthly. For if the soul is only given earthly sustenance it starves and suffers terribly from its meagerness. However, if it is offered spiritual nourishment, its condition is freer.... (interruption)

Il Nutrimento dell’anima - Il Cibo spirituale

Il Cibo puramente spirituale è il Nutrimento dell’anima, che vi può essere offerto solo dall’Alto. E’ una Grazia di Dio che l’uomo non può misurare, perché Egli dà agli uomini pure qualcosa di immeritato. Egli dà loro dei mezzi amorevoli per lo sviluppo verso l’Alto dell’anima, mette loro a disposizione tutto ciò con cui l’uomo può arrivare alla perfezione. Egli riversa in misura ricchissima la Grazia divina sul figlio terreno, per rendergli percorribile la via verso l’Alto, e così istruisce gli uomini. E questa Istruzione è il Pane del Cielo, Nutrimento spirituale per l’anima. L’uomo ha bisogno pure del nutrimento per la conservazione del corpo, e questo gli viene trasmesso sempre e continuamente tramite la Benignità di Dio. Ma il Nutrimento di cui l’anima ha bisogno, è di un altro genere. L’anima può essere provveduta solo spiritualmente, perché è appunto l’unificazione di potenze spirituali, che quindi sono di origine spirituale. A queste potenze dell’anima dev‘essere ora apportato qualcosa, che è ultraterreno, che è preso dal Regno spirituale ed è percettibile solo con l’occhio spirituale per l’anima. E così l’anima viene ora nutrita con un Nutrimento che contribuisce all’aumento dello spirituale, l’anima che prima era rivolta al terreno viene per così dire spiritualizzata, . Perché se l’anima viene provveduta solo in modo terreno, langue e soffre terribilmente sotto la sua povertà. Ma se le viene invece offerto il Cibo spirituale, il suo stato è più libero.
