Divine gift proof of love.... entering into the will of God....

In a quiet hour of contemplation you will realize that all earthly desire is an obstacle to a deep and intimate union with God. And once you have regocnized this, all danger is over. Only he who can give everything will receive everything. The grace of being allowed to receive the divine word is incomparably more valuable than the fulfilment of earthly longing, and therefore anyone who indulges in earthly wishes and desires loses unspeakable graces. However, only covetous love is an obstacle to ascent, so this should be fought with all our strength.

It is of extraordinary importance to establish contact with the heavenly father, and for this the will is required first, it must turn to Him completely, it must express itself in a way that visibly reveals the desire for God. The human being's will will always be the only thing required by God. Divine love constantly endeavours to reveal itself to the human being in such a way that the human being consciously strives for this love, i.e. desires to be seized by it. And this desire is the subordination of the will to the divine will. For a desire for union with God is, as it were, awakened in the human being, which is the reason for the reorganization of his previous way of life. For he who has previously walked without God has acted according to his own will, which was therefore turned away from Him. But to have regocnized God means entering into the divine will, a complete submission to everything God demands of him, and it also means an unquestioning abandonment of the previous way of life. It is therefore only understandable that the human will must first declare itself willing to submit itself to the divine will before God now announces His will.... It is understandable that the human being's will has to be surrendered time and again in order to be able to receive this proclamation of His will; it is understandable that every earthly desire weakens the will striving towards God and thus the desire for His word also diminishes; and it is understandable that everything has to be fought against which could diminish the strength to receive. For divine gift is more precious than anything the world can offer. Divine gift harbours the love of God, and is there anything more beautiful than being allowed to receive the proof of divine love? The heart's longing is likewise satisfied, only in such a way that the body does not feel it so pleasantly, but the soul is extremely delighted by every connection with God's love. And thus the human being should remember his soul and grant it the great happiness of divine love, but not pay attention to the body and its desires, instead he should unreservedly integrate himself into God's will in order to be able to receive divine expressions of will. The love which prompts God to His fatherly care for His children should be desired in the deepest heart, for to be allowed to stand in this love is the most beautiful thing a person can desire on earth. His heart should beat towards the father in heaven, the child should long for the father, then it will also happily receive the outpouring of His love.... the divine word, which establishes the most intimate connection with Him and is therefore the visible evidence of His love. Can anything more delicious ever be offered to you than that the heavenly father Himself leans towards you and desires to speak to you?.... And if He obviously offers you His love, it only requires your will to receive this love. You may only want that your thinking is guided by Him, and from now on you will only fulfil His will, carry His will within you and also use your earthly life in accordance with the divine will....

하나님의 선물은 사랑의 증거. 하나님의 뜻을 따르는 일.

너는 고요하게 내면에 침잠하는 시간에 모든 세상적인 욕망이 하나님과의 깊고 긴밀한 연결을 이루는 일에 장애가 된다는 것을 의식하게 될 것이다. 네가 이를 깨달았다면, 모든 위험은 사라진다. 단지 모든 것을 희생할 수 있는 사람이 모든 것을 받게 될 것이다. 하나님의 말씀을 받을 수 있는 은혜는 이 땅의 욕망의 성취보다 비교할 수 없을 정도로 가치가 있다. 그러므로 이 땅의 소원과 정욕에 자신을 드리는 사람은 말할 수 없는 은혜를 잃게 된다. 그러나 단지 탐욕스러운 사랑은 위를 향하는 일에 걸림돌이다. 그러므로 모든 힘을 다해 이에 대항하여 싸워야 한다.

하늘의 아버지와의 접촉을 이루는 일은 특별한 의미를 가진 일이다. 이를 위해 먼저 의지가 필요하다. 의지가 전적으로 모두 아버지께 향해야만 한다. 이 의지가 하나님을 향한 갈망을 눈에 띄게 알게 해주는 방식으로 자신을 나타내야 한다. 하나님이 항상 요구하는 유일한 것은 사람의 의지이다. 하나님의 사랑은 인간이 하나님의 사랑을 의식적으로 추구하도록, 다시 말해 하나님의 사랑에 붙잡힘을 받기를 갈망하도록, 인간에게 자신을 드러내려고 끊임없이 노력한다. 이런 갈망은 의지를 하나님의 뜻 아래 두는 것이다. 왜냐하면 하나님과의 연합을 향한 열망이 사람 안에서 자극을 받기 때문이다. 이런 갈망이 이전의 삶의 방식을 바꾸게 만드는 원인이다. 그러나 그 전에는 하나님 없이 살던 사람은 자신의 뜻대로, 다시 말해 하나님을 떠난 의지를 따라 행했다.

하나님을 깨달았다는 것은 하나님의 뜻을 따르는 것을 의미하고, 하나님이 그에게 요구하는 모든 것에 온전히 복종하는 것을 의미한다. 그리고 더 나아가 주저함이 없이 이전의 삶의 방식을 포기하는 일을 의미한다. 그러므로 하나님이 지금 자신의 뜻을 알려주기 전에 먼저 인간의 의지가 하나님의 뜻에 복종할 준비가 되어 있다고 선언해야만 하는 일은 이해할 수 있는 일이다. 하나님의 뜻을 알려주는 계시를 받을 수 있기 위해 항상 또 다시 인간의 의지가 헌신해야만 하는 일은 이해할 수 있는 일이다. 이 땅의 모든 욕망이 하나님을 향한 의지를 약화시키고, 이로써 하나님의 말씀을 향한 갈망도 이제 또한 감소하게 되는 일은 이해할 수 있는 일이다. 능력을 받는 일을 약화시킬 수 있는 모든 것에 대항하여 싸워야만 하는 일은 이해할 수 있는 일이다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 선물은 무엇보다 소중하기 때문이다.

하나님의 선물은 하나님의 사랑을 담고 있다. 하나님의 사랑의 증거를 받는 일보다 더 아름다운 일이 있느냐? 그러면 심장의 갈망이 동시에 충족이 될 것이다. 단지 육체가 그렇게 기분 좋게 느끼지 않는 방식으로 충족될 것이다. 그러나 혼은 모든 하나님의 사랑과의 관계를 아주 행복해한다. 그러므로 인간은 자신의 혼을 돌보고, 혼이 하나님의 사랑의 큰 행복을 받을 수 있게 해야 한다. 그러나 육체와 육체의 욕망에 주의를 기울이지 말아야 하고, 하나님의 뜻의 나타남을 받을 수 있기 위해 제한이 없이 하나님의 뜻을 따라야 한다. 하나님이 자신의 자녀들을 아버지처럼 보살피게 만드는 사랑을 가장 깊은 심장으로부터 갈망해야 한다. 왜냐하면 이런 사랑 안에 거할 수 있는 되는 일은 인간이 이 땅에서 바랄 수 있는 가장 아름다운 것이기 때문이다.

그의 심장은 하늘의 아버지를 향해 뛰어야 한다. 자녀는 아버지를 그리워해야 한다. 그러면 하나님의 사랑의 흐름인 하나님의 말씀을 행복하게 받게 될 것이다. 하나님의 말씀은 하나님과 가장 긴밀한 관계를 맺게 한다. 그러므로 하나님의 말씀은 하나님의 사랑의 볼 수 있는 증거이다. 하늘의 아버지가 친히 너희에게 다가가, 너희와 대화하기를 원하는 일보다 더 귀한 것을 너희에게 제공할 수 있느냐? 하나님이 분명하게 너희에게 자신의 사랑을 제안한다면, 너희가 그의 사랑을 받기 위해 단지 너희의 의지만이 필요하다. 너희는 너희의 생각이 하나님에 의해 인도되기를 원기만 하면 된다. 그러면 너희는 앞으로 단지 하나님의 뜻을 성취하게 될 것이고, 그의 뜻을 너희 안에 가지고 있고, 또한 너희의 이 땅의 삶을 그의 뜻에 따라 활용할 것이다.
