Consciously turning to God is passed test of will....
The turning point of every individual person's life has come when the person consciously turns to God, when he inwardly acknowledges him and enters into contact with Him.... when he prays to Him in living faith. Then the soul will have consciously started on the path of return to Him and can also, with certainty, reach its goal on earth of entering the kingdom of the beyond redeemed of its past guilt. Hence the human being must merely consciously turn to God and not just carry out certain formalities or customs or want to prove his faith in God with empty words. For God only evaluates that which arises from the human heart, neither words nor gestures can deceive Him.... However, a prayer in spirit and in truth will definitely reach Him, and then he will take care of the one who deliberately seeks contact with Him.... The conscious bond with God is therefore the spiritual turning point in the life of the individual, and the sooner it happens the more successful it will be; nevertheless, it signifies that the human being has passed the test of will he is expected to take during his earthly existence. Prior to this his life is a waste of time, for the soul does not gain anything while the human being still lives without God. And as long as a person does not have a living faith he still lives without God, for the academic knowledge about God conveyed to people is not a living faith as yet.... Only his conscious surrender to God proves his faith, and from that hour onwards the soul starts to live, that is, its thoughts, feelings and inclinations take place on a spiritual level, the bond with God has been established and He Himself takes care of the soul because it had found Him of its own free will. And again it must be stressed that only love is able to achieve this.... that the thoughts of a person who lives in love will take the right path, the path towards the Eternal Love, for love strives towards love. In other words: the Eternal Love draws a lovingly active human being close to Itself. And his faith will indeed come alive, the person's thoughts will turn to the One Who had created him.... Who will take hold of him and never let him fall again, because his free will became active, for both love as well as faith prove that the will is inclined towards God and therefore they also prove the passed test of will on account of which the human being lives on earth....

Bewust toekeren naar God is geslaagde wilsproef
Het keerpunt in het leven van ieder afzonderlijk is gekomen, wanneer de mens zich bewust naar God toekeert. Wanneer hij Hem innerlijk erkent en met Hem in verbinding treedt, wanneer hij bidt in levend geloof in Hem. Dan heeft de ziel de weg van de terugkeer naar Hem bewust aanvaard en dan kan ze ook met zekerheid haar doel op aarde bereiken, dat ze verlost van haar vroegere schuld het rijk hierna kan binnengaan.
De mens moet zich dus alleen bewust naar God keren, niet alleen zekere formules of gebruiken hanteren of door lege woorden het geloof in God willen bewijzen. Want God waardeert alleen wat in het hart van de mens ontstaat, Hem misleiden noch woorden noch gebaren. Maar een gebed in geest en in waarheid bereikt Hem zeker en dan bekommert Hij zich ook om diegene die bewust verbinding met Hem zoekt.
De bewuste band met God is dus ook de geestelijke ommekeer in het leven van de enkeling, die des te succesvoller is, hoe eerder hij begint, maar hij betekent het slagen van de wilsproef die de mens voor zijn bestaan op aarde is gesteld. Voordien is zijn leven een leegloop, want de ziel verwerft niets in de tijd waarin de mens nog zonder God leeft. En zonder Hem leeft de mens zolang hij nog geen levend geloof bezit, want een schools weten over God dat de mens wordt overgebracht, is nog geen levend geloof.
Pas de bewuste overgave aan God zal zijn geloof bewijzen en vanaf dat ogenblik leeft ook de ziel op, dat wil zeggen haar denken, voelen en willen bewegen zich nu op het geestelijke vlak. De band met God is tot stand gebracht en Hij zelf bekommert zich nu ook om de ziel, omdat ze in vrije wil de weg naar Hem heeft gevonden. En weer moet worden benadrukt dat alleen de liefde zoiets teweegbrengt, dat de gedachten van een mens die in de liefde leeft, de juiste weg nemen, de weg naar de eeuwige Liefde, want Liefde spoort aan tot liefde, of ook: de eeuwige Liefde trekt de mens tot zich die zelf liefde beoefent. En in deze wordt ook het geloof levend, het denken van de mens zal zich richten op Hem Die hem heeft geschapen, Die hem nu vastpakt en niet meer zal laten terugvallen, omdat diens vrije wil actief werd, want zowel de liefde alsook het geloof bewijzen de op God gerichte wil en ze bewijzen derhalve ook de geslaagde wilsproef, ten behoeve waarvan de mens op aarde leeft.
