Traditional faith.... obedience.... free choice....

A clear judgement of what is truth and what is error will only be possible for a person who has the firm will to stand in the right knowledge. But this will is usually lacking in those whose faith has already been forced into a certain mould, who therefore have no faith of their own but only call a traditionally adopted one their own. A certain obedience has been nurtured in them, which God also credits to them as a virtue, as they believe that they are thereby also living in a way that is pleasing to Him. Nevertheless, man lacks something of importance.... the free decision, i.e. a realization that causes the free will to accept or reject what has traditionally been handed down to him. He has been taught obedience in such a way that he does not even consider taking a mental stand on the teachings he has been given. He feels neither entitled nor capable of scrutinizing and judging.... but accepts without contradiction everything that is conveyed to him by teachers, because he only assumes that they are telling the truth. He completely ignores human errors and inadequacies and recognizes the teachers unquestioningly as authorized and infallible. Nor does he himself use the gifts with which God has endowed him, reason and judgement, which are the prerogative of man over the animal and should therefore be used accordingly. Consequently, he cannot make any spiritual progress either, for this absolutely requires that he himself is intellectually active, i.e. that he uses his intellect and his free will in order to gain knowledge. But he is prevented from doing so, or he allows himself to be hindered by existing doctrines of faith which make the use of intellect or free will unnecessary, thus they are supposed to be accepted without thinking, but this can never result in a living faith. This is a deplorable state of affairs which is an obstacle to higher spiritual development, for such teachings are not suitable for kindling love for God, i.e. for bringing people closer to God. Every thinking person will experience it as spiritual freedom if he can deal with his own thoughts; if he is not forced to live in other people's thinking.... Likewise, he must also have the right to think through for himself what is offered to him as truth and to take a stand on it. For only then is his free will active and the human being makes a decision. Before that, however, it is not possible to speak of his own decision, and this is a shortcoming which greatly impairs the soul's higher development, which is why the bearers of truth and light-giving beings tirelessly fight against it....

Creencia tradicional.... Obediencia.... Decisión libre....

Un juicio claro de lo que es verdad y lo que es la equivocación será posible solo para aquel hombre que tiene la firme voluntad de mantenerse en el conocimiento correcto. Pero a la mayoría les carece esto, cuya fe ya ha sido forzada a una determinada forma, es decir, no tienen una fe que hayan ganado, sino que solo disponen de una fe tradicionalmente heredada. Se les ha formado una cierta obediencia en ellos, lo que Dios también les atribuye como una virtud, creyendo que al hacerlo vivirán con agrado para Él.

Sin embargo, falta algo importante para el hombre.... La libre decisión, es decir, un reconocimiento, que causa libre albedrio para aceptar o rechazar lo que tradicionalmente se le ha transmitido. La obediencia se le ha enseñado de tal manera que ni siquiera considera tomar una posición intelectualmente frente a las enseñanzas que se le dieron. No se siente justificado ni capaz de evaluar y juzgar.... Pero acepta todo sin contradicción, lo que le transmiten los maestros, porque solo presupone la verdad en ellos.

Elimina por completo los errores humanos y las deficiencias e indudablemente reconoce a los maestros como autorizados e infalibles. Él mismo tampoco usa los dones que Dios le ha dotado, la mente y el juicio que son la prerrogativa del hombre al animal y que deben usarse en consecuencia. En consecuencia, no puede registrar ningún progreso mental, ya que esto es absolutamente necesario, para que él mismo sea intelectualmente activo, por lo que usa su mente y su voluntad para llegar al reconocimiento.

Pero se le impide hacerlo, o se deja obstaculizar por las doctrinas existentes, que le impiden usar la mente o el libre albedrio, es decir, aceptarlo sin pensar, que, por consecuencia, no puede conducir nunca a una fe viva. Es una situación penosa que impide el desarrollo mental hacia arriba, ya que tales doctrinas no son adecuadas para inflamar el amor a Dios, es decir, para lograr el acercamiento a Dios. Toda persona pensante lo sentirá como libertad mental, si él mismo puede manejar sus pensamientos; si no se ve forzado de meterse en los pensamientos de otras personas.... También debe tener el derecho de pensar por sí mismo lo que se le ofrece como verdad y comentarlo. Porque solo entonces está activo su libre albedrio, y el hombre se decide. Pero antes de eso, no se puede hablar de una decisión propia y esta es una deficiencia que perjudica en gran medida el desarrollo superior del alma, razón por la cual los portadores de la verdad y los seres que dan la luz luchan incansablemente en contra de ello....
