World events cause as well as means to remedy the spiritual distress....

Recognizing the plight of a spiritually degenerated humanity, you will also be able to understand world events, which are both the cause and the means to remedy this plight. There is an extraordinary low insofar as no efforts whatsoever are being made by people to prepare themselves for a spiritual life after their earthly demise. And the consequences of this indifference are unforeseeable. It is irresponsible if a person does not endeavour to save his soul. For his carelessness will result in his spiritual abilities remaining undeveloped and thus the human being will live without being able to record the slightest spiritual progress, and his life will not have been lived appropriately. In contrast, the spiritually striving person is offered a natural balance; he lives his life consciously and therefore it will not be without joy either, only these joys are shaped differently than those of the earthly striving person. He finds comfort and edification in the divine word, he only now finds the right purpose in life, and he does not lack anything external because he does not strive for it.... He possesses inner contentment, he is not frightened by earthly hardship, for he desires other than earthly goods. Therefore, world events will not affect him to the extent that they disturb his inner peace; rather, these world events will help to strengthen his faith. But where there is no such attitude, world events are the cause of complete spiritual decline. Man never wants to regocnize the spiritual, he does occasionally get in touch with those who know, but only out of self-interest. He only hopes to gain knowledge that he can utilize well on earth, but never considers his soul. He believes that he can penetrate an area without prior knowledge and a spiritual attitude, but this requires work on himself and activity of love, and this view is erroneous. For whatever experiences he gathers will never allow him to reach his goal. He cannot utilize this good, he lacks the key that first unlocks the spiritual realm for him; he receives something that is not comprehensible to him and is therefore completely unimpressed by it. But he will not be able to use what he has received because spiritual knowledge is only comprehensible if it is striven for from the heart, i.e. if the human being makes himself worthy of receiving it. The hardship on earth should now awaken that drive in man which only strives for the spiritual.... adversity should educate people in such a way that spiritual interest awakens in them and the desire to educate themselves in spiritual knowledge for the sake of truth.... Then this adversity will also be a blessing for people and the spiritual low will be remedied, for this is God's only purpose, that the human being regocnizes his task on earth and fulfils it....

Acontecimentos mundiais Causa bem como meios para remediar o sofrimento espiritual....

Na realização da difícil situação de uma humanidade espiritualmente afundada, também compreenderá os acontecimentos mundiais que são causa e meio para remediar esta situação. Um mínimo extraordinário deve ser registrado na medida em que nenhum esforço está sendo feito por parte das pessoas para se prepararem para uma vida espiritual após a morte terrena. E as consequências desta indiferença não podem ser previstas. É irresponsável se uma pessoa não cuida da salvação da sua alma. Pois sua negligência resulta em suas habilidades espirituais não desenvolvidas e assim o ser humano vive sem o menor progresso espiritual, e sua vida não é vivida de acordo com seu propósito. Em contraste, à pessoa espiritualmente esforçada é oferecido um equilíbrio natural; ela vive sua vida conscientemente e assim também não será sem alegria, apenas essas alegrias são moldadas de forma diferente daquelas da pessoa terrena esforçada. Ele encontra conforto e edificação na Palavra divina, só então ele encontra o propósito certo na vida, e não lhe falta nada externo porque ele não se esforça por isso.... Ele possui contentamento interior, as dificuldades terrenas não o assustam, pois ele deseja outras coisas além dos bens terrenos. Consequentemente, os acontecimentos mundiais não o afectarão a tal ponto que perturbem a sua paz interior; pelo contrário, esses acontecimentos mundiais contribuirão para fortalecer a sua fé. Mas onde não há tal atitude, os eventos mundiais são a causa do completo declínio espiritual. O ser humano nunca quer reconhecer o espiritual, ele certamente faz contato com o conhecedor de tempos em tempos, mas apenas por interesse próprio. Ele só espera ganhar conhecimentos que ele pode fazer bom uso da terra, mas nunca considera a sua alma. Ele acredita que pode penetrar uma área sem conhecimento prévio e atitude espiritual, mas isso requer trabalho sobre si mesmo e atividade de amor, e essa visão é equivocada. Pois seja qual for a experiência que ele agora acumula, nunca o deixará alcançar o seu objectivo. Ele não pode usar esse bem, falta-lhe a chave que primeiro lhe abre o reino espiritual; ele recebe algo que lhe é incompreensível e que, portanto, não se deixa impressionar por isso. Mas agora ele não poderá usar o que recebeu, porque os bens espirituais só são compreensíveis se forem lutados pelo coração, ou seja, se o ser humano se fizer digno de recebê-los. Agora a adversidade na Terra deve despertar nas pessoas que se esforçam apenas para a.... espiritual. as dificuldades devem educar as pessoas de tal forma que o interesse espiritual desperte nelas e o desejo de se educar no conhecimento espiritual em prol da verdade seja despertado.... Então esta adversidade será também uma bênção para as pessoas e o baixo espiritual será remediado, pois este é o único propósito de Deus, que o ser humano reconheça a sua tarefa terrena e a cumpra....
