World events cause as well as means to remedy the spiritual distress....

Recognizing the plight of a spiritually degenerated humanity, you will also be able to understand world events, which are both the cause and the means to remedy this plight. There is an extraordinary low insofar as no efforts whatsoever are being made by people to prepare themselves for a spiritual life after their earthly demise. And the consequences of this indifference are unforeseeable. It is irresponsible if a person does not endeavour to save his soul. For his carelessness will result in his spiritual abilities remaining undeveloped and thus the human being will live without being able to record the slightest spiritual progress, and his life will not have been lived appropriately. In contrast, the spiritually striving person is offered a natural balance; he lives his life consciously and therefore it will not be without joy either, only these joys are shaped differently than those of the earthly striving person. He finds comfort and edification in the divine word, he only now finds the right purpose in life, and he does not lack anything external because he does not strive for it.... He possesses inner contentment, he is not frightened by earthly hardship, for he desires other than earthly goods. Therefore, world events will not affect him to the extent that they disturb his inner peace; rather, these world events will help to strengthen his faith. But where there is no such attitude, world events are the cause of complete spiritual decline. Man never wants to regocnize the spiritual, he does occasionally get in touch with those who know, but only out of self-interest. He only hopes to gain knowledge that he can utilize well on earth, but never considers his soul. He believes that he can penetrate an area without prior knowledge and a spiritual attitude, but this requires work on himself and activity of love, and this view is erroneous. For whatever experiences he gathers will never allow him to reach his goal. He cannot utilize this good, he lacks the key that first unlocks the spiritual realm for him; he receives something that is not comprehensible to him and is therefore completely unimpressed by it. But he will not be able to use what he has received because spiritual knowledge is only comprehensible if it is striven for from the heart, i.e. if the human being makes himself worthy of receiving it. The hardship on earth should now awaken that drive in man which only strives for the spiritual.... adversity should educate people in such a way that spiritual interest awakens in them and the desire to educate themselves in spiritual knowledge for the sake of truth.... Then this adversity will also be a blessing for people and the spiritual low will be remedied, for this is God's only purpose, that the human being regocnizes his task on earth and fulfils it....

L’avvenimento del mondo, sia causa come mezzo per sospendere la miseria spirituale

Conoscendo la situazione di miseria di un’umanità sprofondata spiritualmente vi sarà anche comprensibile l’avvenimento mondiale che è sia la causa come anche il mezzo della sospensione di questa situazione di miseria. E’ da registrare un basso stato spirituale straordinario in quanto che da parte degli uomini non viene fatto nessuna mossa di prepararsi per una vita spirituale dopo il decesso terreno. Le conseguenze di questa indifferenza sono imprevedibili. E’ da irresponsabile se l’uomo non si sforza per la salvezza della sua anima, perché la sua trascuratezza ha per conseguenza che le sue facoltà spirituali rimangono non sviluppate e così l’uomo vive alla giornata senza poter registrare il minimo progresso spirituale e non ha vissuto la sua vita secondo lo scopo. Invece all’uomo che tende spiritualmente viene offerto un pareggio naturale; lui vive coscientemente la sua vita e così non sarà nemmeno senza gioia, solo queste gioie sono diverse che quelle dell’uomo tendente al terreno. Lui trova conforto ed edificazione nella Parola divina, solo ora trova il giusto contenuto di vita e non gli manca nulla di esteriore, perché non vi tende. Lui possiede la contentezza interiore, la miseria terrena non lo spaventa, perché desidera altro che bene terreno. Quindi anche l’avvenimento mondiale non lo tocca nella miseria da disturbare la sua pace interiore; questo avvenimento mondiale contribuirà piuttosto a consolidare la sua fede. Dove però non esiste una tale predisposizione d’animo, là l’avvenimento mondiale è a causa del totale naufragio spirituale. L’uomo non riconoscerà mai lo spirituale, a volte si mette ben in contatto con dei sapienti, ma soltanto per il proprio uso. Serpa di ottenere solo delle conoscenze che può valutare in modo terreno, ma non pensa mai e poi mai alla sua anima. Lui crede di poter entrare in un campo senza preconoscenze e predisposizione spirituale, che però ha per premessa il lavoro su sé stesso e l’attività nell’amore, e questa opinione è errata. Perché ciò che ora raccoglie in esperienze non lo farà mai arrivare alla meta. Non può utilizzare questo bene, gli manca la chiave che gli dischiude questo campo; riceve qualcosa che non gli è comprensibile, e perciò ne è totalmente non impressionato. Non potrà però utilizzare ciò che ha ricevuto, perché il bene spirituale è comprensibile solamente quando vi si tende con il cuore, cioè che l’uomo rende degno sé stesso di ciò che riceve. La miseria sulla Terra deve ora risvegliare nell’uomo quella spinta che tenda solamente allo spirituale, la miseria deve formare gli uomini in modo che in loro si risvegli l’interesse spirituale e si muova il desiderio di formarsi nel sapere spirituale per via della Verità. Allora anche questa miseria sarà una benedizione per gli uomini ed il basso stato spirituale verrà sospeso, perché Dio ha solamente questo scopo, che l’uomo riconosca il suo compito terreno e lo compia.
