Onvergankelijkheid – Kracht uit God – Schepping

Niets in het heelal kan verloren gaan, want alles is kracht uit God, die onvergankelijk is. Deze onvergankelijkheid is dus onaantastbaar, zodra God als eeuwig wezen erkend wordt. Maar die onvergankelijkheid is ook de verklaring voor de zin en de doelmatigheid van elke schepping, want omdat niets verloren gaat, moet de schepping alles in zich opnemen, wat uit God voortgekomen is om na eindeloos lange tijd weer tot Hem terug te keren.

En bijgevolg moet ook de schepping iets onvergankelijks zijn, ofschoon deze aan een voortdurende verandering onderhevig is. Ze kan voor het oog wel vergankelijk lijken, maar feitelijk is het onvergankelijk geestelijks, dus uit God voortgekomen kracht. Gods wil vormde deze kracht tot iets tastbaars en Zijn wijsheid en liefde gaven dit tastbaars een doel, omdat elke kracht zich tot activiteit moet veranderen, als deze werkzaam wordt. Zodoende is ook de schepping voortdurend actief. Ze volhardt niet in levenloosheid, maar ze getuigt van een voortdurend leven, omdat ze de van God uitgegane kracht in zich bevat, die tot voortdurende activiteit aanspoort.

Maar schijnbaar wordt die activiteit belemmerd, dat wil zeggen tot een minimum verlaagd en zeker bij scheppingswerken, die voor het menselijke oog als vaste vorm, als gesteente, zichtbaar zijn. Nochtans is ook deze vorm voortdurend actief, want ook deze blijft niet in dezelfde toestand, maar verandert voortdurend. Maar elke verandering is geen vergankelijkheid van het oude, want dit blijft in zijn oorspronkelijke substantie bestaan. Het vormt zich opnieuw.

En zelfs wat voor het menselijke oog niet meer zichtbaar is, bestaat nog, omdat wat uit God voortgekomen is, eeuwig niet kan vergaan, maar weer naar God terugstroomt. Maar dat de kracht tot vorm wordt, heeft zijn grondslag in Gods wijsheid, omdat de kracht daardoor toeneemt en zo steeds sterker werkzaam wordt in het scheppingswerk, dat Gods liefde liet ontstaan voor het opnemen van de voortdurend van Hem uitgaande kracht.

Imperishability.... power from God.... creation....

Nothing can be lost in the universe, because everything is power from God, which is imperishable. This immortality is therefore inviolable as soon as God is recognized as an eternal being. But immortality is also an explanation for the meaning and purpose of all creation, for since nothing is lost, creation must absorb everything that has emerged from God in order to return to Him again after an infinitely long time. And consequently, creation itself must also be something imperishable, even though it is constantly changing.... It may appear to the eye to be transient, but it is essentially imperishable spiritual substance, i.e. power that has emerged from God. God's will moulded this power into something objective, and His wisdom and love gave this objective a purpose, because all power must change into activity if it is to become effective. Thus creation is also in perpetual activity, it does not remain lifeless but testifies to constant life because it harbours the power emanating from God which drives it to constant activity. Only the activity is apparently inhibited, i.e. reduced to a minimum, in the works of creation which are visible to the human eye as solid form, as rock. Nevertheless, this form is also in constant activity, for it too does not remain in the same state but is in a constant state of change. However, any change is not a transience of the old, but rather it remains in its original substance, only forming itself anew. And even that which is no longer visible to the human eye is still, because that which is of God cannot eternally pass away, but flows back to God again. Yet the fact that the strength becomes form is based on God's wisdom and love, because thereby the strength in itself increases and thus becomes increasingly more effective in the work of creation, which God's love allowed to arise in order to receive the strength constantly emanating from Him....
