Het brood uit de hemel is het voedsel voor de ziel – “Zoek in de eerste plaats het rijk van God

Jullie mensen mogen het geestelijke voedsel niet buiten beschouwing laten, want het is het belangrijkste in het aardse leven, dat jullie het brood uit de hemel bezorgd wordt om jullie zielen te voeden. Het vleselijke lichaam kan niet zonder voedsel bestaan, net als de ziel, die het voedsel echter nog dringender nodig heeft, omdat ze onvergankelijk is en een gebrek aan geestelijk voedsel heeft een onvoorstelbaar martelende toestand als gevolg, die veel erger is dan sterven.

Alle bouwstoffen tot behoud van het lichaam worden deze door het aardse voedsel toegevoerd en toch heeft het behouden van het lichaam maar één doel, namelijk de ziel een verblijfplaats te bieden, zodat ze haar aardse taak kan vervullen. Maar om deze taak te kunnen vervullen, moet de ziel voedsel gegeven worden, dat haar kracht geeft en dit voedsel is het brood uit de hemel, het woord van God, dat de liefde van God haar aanbiedt als proviand voor haar gang door het aardse dal.

En geen ziel, die hiernaar verlangt, hoeft honger te lijden of dorst te hebben. Talloze God dienende wezens delen het goddelijke geschenk, het brood uit de hemel, aan de aardse mensen uit. Ze staan overal langs de weg van diegenen, die over de aarde gaan en bieden het diegenen aan, die honger en dorst hebben, opdat ze zich daaraan laven en gesterkt hun weg voort kunnen zetten. En het brood uit de hemel is het woord van God. Het is het kostbaarste genadegeschenk, dat God voor jullie mensen klaar gemaakt heeft en jullie zullen zijn kracht gewaarworden, als jullie je in grote nood bevinden.

Zoals een frisse drank u verkwikt, zo zal het goddelijke woord jullie altijd laven en sterken, want het is de belofte van Jezus, dat, wie van dat water drinkt dat Hij de mensen aanbiedt, in eeuwigheid geen dorst meer zal hebben. En Zijn woord is waarheid. God Zelf is de bron, waaruit het levende water ontspringt. God Zelf is het brood des levens, dat Hij de mensen aanbiedt als voedsel voor de ziel, opdat jullie het in ontvangst nemen en sterker worden.

En daarom moet er in de eerste plaats naar geestelijk voedsel verlangd worden. Aards voedsel zal jullie dan tegelijkertijd toegestuurd worden, want God laat diegenen, die in de eerste plaats aan hun ziel denken, lichamelijk geen gebrek lijden, zoals Hij eveneens beloofd heeft met de woorden: “Zoek eerst het rijk van God en al het andere zal u toegeworpen worden”. Jullie hoeven nooit te vrezen om jullie lichamelijke welzijn. Jullie hoeven je ook geen zorgen te maken over in welke vorm het voedsel jullie toegestuurd wordt, als dit aards niet mogelijk lijkt.

Gods woord is waarheid en als jullie hierin geloven, wordt Zijn belofte vervuld. Hij zal jullie steeds bedenken, geestelijk en lichamelijk, zodra jullie je met Hem verbinden en Zijn geschenken in ontvangst willen nemen. Maar jullie moeten in de eerste plaats naar het eerste verlangen, want jullie zielen hebben dit nodig op hun weg omhoog en ter wille van jullie zielen heeft God jullie het aardse leven gegeven, dat ook aards voedsel nodig heeft. Zodoende zal God jullie werkelijk geven, wat jullie voor de instandhouding van het lichaam nodig hebben, als jullie ter wille van jullie zielen het lichaam proberen te onderhouden.

En dit geestelijke voedsel, het woord van God, zal ook in staat zijn het lichaam te onderhouden, want dit is kracht uit God, die de mensen rechtstreeks door Zijn woord toestroomt en deze kracht onderhoudt alles. Ze onderhoudt ook het lichaam, zodra aards voedsel haar ontnomen wordt. Want het is de kracht van God, die elk scheppingswerk onderhoudt, dat uit deze kracht voortgekomen is. Als de mens dus de rechtstreekse uitstraling van kracht uit God in ontvangst neemt, dan zal hij ook geen ander voedsel nodig hebben en toch kunnen bestaan, als dit de wil van God is.

En het zal de komende tijd de wil van God zijn, dat door buitengewone verschijnselen de kracht van het goddelijke woord zichtbaar wordt, die stroomt naar degenen, die vast en onwankelbaar geloven en Gods geboden onderhouden. Want als de mens bereidwillig is om eerst aan zijn ziel te denken en voor haar het brood uit de hemel begeert, dan zal hij zowel wat de ziel betreft, als lichamelijk, verzadigd worden, want Gods liefde is onveranderbaar en Zijn woord is waarheid: “Wees niet bezorgd om wat u eten en drinken zult, maar zoek eerst het rijk van God, al het andere zal u toegeworpen worden”.

Bread of heaven food for the soul.... "Seek ye first the kingdom of God...."

You humans should not disregard spiritual nourishment, for it is the most important thing in earthly life that the bread of heaven be given to you for the nourishment of your souls. The physical body cannot exist without food, likewise also the soul, but it needs food even more urgently because it is immortal and the lack of spiritual food results in an unimaginably agonizing state, which is far worse than the passing away. Every building substance for the preservation of the body is supplied to it through earthly food, and yet the preservation of it only has the one purpose to grant the soul a stay so that it can fulfil its earthly task. But in order to be able to fulfil this, the soul must be supplied with food, which gives it power, and this food is the bread of heaven, the word of God, which the love of God offers it as food on its way through the earth valley. And no soul will need to hunger and thirst that desires such. Myriads of God-serving beings hand out the divine gift, the bread of heaven, to people on earth. They stand everywhere along the path of the earth traveller and offer it to the hungry and thirsty so that they can feast on it and continue on their way strengthened. And the bread of heaven is the word of God.... it is the most delicious gift of grace that God has in store for you humans, and you will receive its strength when you are in great need. Just as a fresh drink refreshes you, so the divine word will always refresh and strengthen you, for this is Jesus' promise that whoever drinks of the water He offers people will thirst no more for eternity.... And His word is truth.... God Himself is the fountain from which the living water springs.... God Himself is the bread of life which He offers to you humans for the nourishment of the soul so that you may receive it and strengthen yourselves.... And therefore the spiritual food is to be desired first. Earthly food will then be given to you at the same time, for God will not let those who are physically destitute think of their soul first, which He also promised with the words: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all other things shall be added unto you...." You never need to worry about your physical well-being, nor do you need to worry about the form in which food will come to you if this does not seem possible on earth.... God's word is truth and if you believe in it, His promise will be fulfilled. He will always provide for you, spiritually and physically, as soon as you unite with Him and want to receive His gifts. Yet you must desire the spiritual food first, for your soul needs it on its path upwards, and for the sake of your soul God has given you earthly life, which also requires earthly nourishment. Thus God will truly give you what you need to maintain the body if you endeavour to maintain the body for the sake of your soul. And the spiritual food, the word of God, will also be able to sustain the body, for this is strength from God which flows directly to the human being through His word, and this strength sustains everything, it also sustains the body as soon as earthly nourishment is withdrawn from it. For it is the power of God that sustains every work of creation that has emerged from this power. Hence, if the human being receives God's direct emanation of strength he will not need any other nourishment and yet will be able to survive if this is God's will. And it will be God's will in the time to come that the power of the divine word will be revealed through extraordinary manifestations, which will flow to those who firmly and steadfastly believe and keep God's commandments. For if a person is willing to consider his soul first and desires the bread of heaven for it, he will be satisfied both spiritually and physically, for God's love is unchanging and His word is truth: "Do not worry about what you will eat and drink, but seek first the kingdom of God, and everything else will be added to you...."
