Speaking in tongues.... Warning against wrong spirit....

And then the human being will accomplish things which seem unnatural to other people, which far exceed a human being’s natural ability.... He will know about things which are usually hidden to people, he will be able to clarify matters convincingly and comprehensibly to his fellow human beings, which a person cannot ascertain with his intellect alone.... he will be able to enter regions which are inaccessible to others.... He will have the strength to cure the sick, to perform miracles or even be able to see the future clairvoyantly, abilities will become evident which he never developed in himself.... he will speak and also understand foreign languages when it is necessary and beneficial for other peoples’ spiritual development.... He will be influenced by divine strength in every way.... but generally only have one of these gifts, since the requirements vary for each spiritual gift and all requirements are rarely found in one person. But each spiritual gift has to fulfil its purpose, i.e. it has to be possible to derive a benefit from each one.... The gift of healing the sick, apart from physical recovery, will undoubtedly also contribute towards the souls’ recovery, since people learn to believe in the power of the spirit, which is activated by the healer’s as well as the sick person’s firm faith. Predictions of future events, too, can motivate people to change their way of life, to do penance and return to God, because these predictions only ever relate to the earthly consequences of people’s spiritual low level.... Proclaiming the truth through the divine spirit also contributes towards the awakening of faith and a change of lifestyle, and again, should be regarded as a purely spiritual factor of utmost importance. Only what contributes towards achieving spiritual benefit can be described as the working of the spirit, because whatever originates from God can’t be anything but illuminating.... It has to bring light and reveal the ambiguous, it cannot emanate even more darkness than is already amongst humanity....

However, God’s spirit can also affect a person in order to remove his state of darkness, to kindle a light in the person’s heart.... to reveal the soul’s layers, so that the soul rejoices and cheers and praises its God and Father, Who bestowed it with enlightenment. This influence applies more to the soul than the person’s intellect, hence the spiritual gift need not be perceptible to people, but it occasionally affects the outer person so intensely that he tries to express himself with incomprehensible words.... People call this process ‘speaking in tongues’, but it always just affects the human being himself.... it is a gift of the spirit which almost every spiritually awakened person can call his own but only in rare cases is it so intense that other people notice a change. For every spiritually awakened person feels the contact his soul experienced such that his soul raises itself to God praising and thanking Him, that it gives itself to Him and finds inner peace and beatitude.... Then his inner ego communicates with God in thought, then he constantly talks with God without words....

Everyone should endeavour to gain this spiritual gift for themselves in order to speak to his fellow human beings on behalf of God and His kingdom, in order to accomplish the redemption work himself as His co-worker, which is blessed. But beware of the wrong spirit, because this, too, makes itself perceptible wherever it can slip in, where pride, self-satisfaction and need for recognition still prevail, thereby offering this spirit the opportunity to express itself in a manner that seems equally unusual. But instead of light it only leaves confusion and agitation.... caused by conditions which are off-putting to serious fellow human beings and only result in joy and approval in those who belong to this spirit themselves. Therefore: Do not believe every spirit.... and scrutinise it by taking notice of the gleam of light, of its intensity of light.... Because God is light.... what comes forth from God is light.... and therefore divine gifts of spirit categorically have to leave an effect of radiant light, otherwise they are Satan’s works of deception, which he particularly uses during the last days with the intention to dazzle people’s eyes as well as their souls in order to plunge them into even greater darkness and render them unable to recognise the true light....

방언으로 기도하는 일. 거짓 영에 대한 경고.

그러면 사람은 이웃에게는 자연스럽지 않은 일과 사람의 타고난 능력을 훨씬 능가하는 일을 성취시킬 것이다. 그는 사람들에게 숨겨져 있는 것을 알게 될 것이고 사람이 유일하게 이성만으로 생각할 수 없는 것들에 대해 확신을 가지고 이웃이 이해할 수 있게 설명해줄 수 있게 될 것이다. 그는 이웃이 접근할 수 없는 영역에 들어갈 수 있고 병자를 치료하고 기적을 행하거나 투시력으로 미래를 볼 수 있는 힘을 갖게 될 것이다. 그가 절대로 자신 안에서 성장시키지 않은 능력이 그에게 드러나게 될 것이고 그는 필요한 경우 외국어를 말하고 이해할 수 있게 될 것이고 필요하다면 이웃의 혼의 성장에 기여할 수 있다.

그는 모든 방식으로 하나님의 힘의 영향을 받을 것이다. 그러나 대부분의 사람들이 이런 영의 은사들 중에 하나만 얻게 될 것이다. 왜냐면 이런 각각의 영의 은사를 받기 위한 요구 사항이 서로 다르고 단지 희귀하게 모든 요구 사항을 갖춘 사람이 있기 때문이다. 그러나 이런 모든 영의 은사는 각각의 목적을 달성해야만 한다. 즉 각각의 은사로부터 유익을 얻어야만 한다. 병자를 치료하는 은사는 육체를 건강하게 하는 일 외에 혼의 회복에도 기여할 것이다. 왜냐면 사람들이 치료자와 또한 병자의 강한 믿음에 의해 나타나는 영의 힘을 믿는 법을 배우기 때문이다.

마찬가지로 앞으로 일어날 일에 대한 예언은 사람들의 삶의 방식을 바꾸고 회개하고 돌이키도록 움직일 수 있다. 왜냐면 이런 예언은 항상 단지 사람들의 영적으로 낮은 상태가 세상에 미치는 영향과 연관되어 있기 때문이다. 하나님의 영을 통해 진리를 선포하는 일은 또한 믿음이 깨어나게 하고 삶의 방식을 바꾸도록 기여하고 따라서 가장 중요한 영적인 일로 평가받아야만 한다. 영적 성공을 이루는 일에 기여하는 일을 단지 영의 역사라고 할 수 있다. 왜냐면 하나님 안에서 나온 것이 단지 빛으로 충만할 수 있기 때문이다.

빛이 전해져야만 하고 불분명한 것을 드러나야만 한다. 인류가 이미 처한 어두움보다 더 깊은 어두움속으로 어떤 빛도 비춰줄 수 없다. 그러나 하나님의 영이 사람에게 역사하여 사람이 어두움의 상태를 스스로 제거하게 할 수 있고 사람의 심장 안에 빛을 밝혀줄 수 있고 혼의 겉형체가 드러나게 할 수 있다. 이로써 혼이 자신에게 깨달음을 준 자신의 하나님 아버지를 기뻐하고 환호하며 찬양하게 할 수 있다. 이런 역사가 인간의 이성보다 혼에게 더 많이 일어난다. 그러므로 이런 영의 은사를 이웃이 알아볼 필요가 없지만 그러나 때로는 인간의 겉형체에 아주 강하게 역사해서 이해할 수 없는 말로 자신을 표현하려고 시도한다. 사람들이 이를 방언을 말하는 것으로 부른다.

그러나 영이 깨어난 모든 사람은 이런 은사를 받지만 단지 가장 희귀하게 이 은사가 아주 강해 이웃이 변화를 감지할 수 있게 된다. 왜냐면 그의 영이 깨어난 모든 사람은 자신의 혼이 하나님께 찬양하고 감사하는 가운데 하나님께 올라가게 하고 혼이 자신을 하나님께 드리고 내면의 평화와 축복을 얻게 하는 방식으로 그의 혼에 역사하는 것을 느끼기 때문이다. 그러면 그의 자아가 생각으로 하나님과 대화 하고 그는 말 없이 계속해서 하나님과 교제한다. 모든 사람이 자신을 위해 이런 영의 은사를 얻기 위해 추구해야 한다. 이로써 사람이 하나님과 하나님의 나라를 위해 이웃 앞에 나설 수 있게 돼야 한다. 그러면 그 자신이 하나님의 동역자로서 축복된 구속역사를 행할 수 있게 된다.

그러나 거짓 된 영에 대해 경고해야 한다. 왜냐면 거짓 된 영도 자신이 숨어들어갈 수 있는 곳과 혼 안의 교만과 자기 만족과 인정받으려는 욕구가 아직 우세한 곳에서 자신을 나타내기 때문이다. 그러면 거짓 된 영이 마찬가지로 초자연적으로 여기게 하는 방식으로 자신을 표현하게 된다. 그러나 이런 역사는 빛을 주는 대신에 혼란과 불안을 일으킨다. 이런 혼란과 불안이 진지한 이웃에게 혐오감을 주고 자신이 거짓 된 영에 속한 사람들에게 단지 기쁨을 주고 동의를 얻게 된다.

그러므로 모든 영을 믿지 말라. 빛을 관찰하여 빛이 어떤 강도로 빛나는지 시험하라. 왜냐면 하나님이 빛이고 하나님에게서 나오는 것이 빛이기 때문이다. 그러므로 하나님의 영의 은사는 절대적으로 빛나는 빛을 남겨야만 하고 그렇지 않으면 눈을 부시게 하는 사탄의 역사이다. 사탄은 이런 역사를 통해 특별히 종말의 때에 사람들의 눈과 또한 사람들의 혼의 눈이 멀게 하기를 원한다. 이로써 사람들이 더 큰 어두움에 빠지게 하고 올바른 빛을 깨달을 수 없게 한다.
