"He who believes in Me shall live for ever...."

He who believes in Me will live for eternity.... These are My words which also gave rise to divisions because the spiritual meaning was not properly recognized. I demand faith in Me in order to be able to give people eternal life.... But what is meant by faith? Not the confession with the mouth, not the intellectual acknowledgement of My act of salvation, but the inner conviction of the truth of everything I taught you humans on earth is to be understood by 'faith', and this inner conviction can only be gained through love.... Thus faith also necessitates love, and thus love is the first thing. But it is also fulfilled by those who believe in Me such that I can grant them eternal life. Right faith therefore promises life because it includes love within itself. But intellectual faith does not lead to eternal life, and it is this intellectual faith which can still be found amongst people if need be but which I cannot evaluate such that it brings the human being eternal life. I want a living faith which, however, can only be gained through love. For the human being only lives when he feels certainty in himself through love, a faith which is truly happy, which now determines his whole will and thinking and results in a way of life which earns him eternal life. To believe intellectually is no evidence of maturity of soul, for the human being may have been pushed onto christian ground through education, thus he cannot reject Me Myself, My earthly life as a human being and My act of salvation with conviction, he regards everything as true.... And yet, his heart need not be touched by it, it is an historical occurrence for him which he cannot deny but it is not felt by him for what it is. It does not touch his heart, which is only impressed when love comes to unfold in him. Then faith in it will trigger beatitude in him, then something will come alive in him, only then will the human being feel himself in the midst of My working on humanity, only then can he speak of faith which leads to eternal life. I certainly first require faith in Jesus Christ, the divine redeemer, because only through Jesus Christ is the path to eternal life, because faith in God alone is not enough due to the burden of sin, which cannot be redeemed without Jesus Christ.... Therefore I spoke the words, "He who believes in Me shall live forever...." Mind you.... I, Jesus Christ, as redeemer of the world, demanded faith, but 'faith' is always only to be understood as living faith through love, which is why people first have to fulfil the commandments of love which I gave to people in order to show them the path which leads to eternal beatitude.... But then they will also be able to believe and in this faith enter into eternal life....

"나를 믿는 사람은 영원히 살 것이다."

"나를 믿는 사람은 영원히 살 것이다." 이 말씀의 영적 의미를 올바르게 깨닫지 못해 이런 내 말씀이 분열을 일으켰다. 내가 사람들에게 영원한 생명을 줄 수 있기 위해 나를 믿는 믿음을 요구한다. 그러나 믿음이 무엇을 의미하느냐? 입으로 고백하는 일이 아니라, 내 구속역사를 이성적으로 인정하는 일이 아니라, 내가 이 땅에서 사람들에게 가르친 모든 것이 진리라는 내적인 확신을 믿음으로 이해해야만 한다. 이런 내적 확신은 단지 사랑을 통해 얻을 수 있다.

그러므로 믿음을 갖기 위해 또한 사랑이 필요하고 이로써 사랑이 제일 먼저이다. 나를 믿음으로 내가 그들에게 영원한 생명을 줄 수 있는 사람들은 사랑으로 충만하다. 그러므로 올바른 믿음은 그런 믿음 안에 사랑이 포함되어 있기 때문에 생명을 약속한다. 그러나 이성의 믿음은 영원한 생명으로 인도하지 못하고, 이런 이성의 믿음은 어려움에 처한 사람들이 가질 수 있는 믿음이고, 그러나 내가 사람들에게 영원한 생명을 얻을 수 있게 하는 믿음으로 평가할 수 없는 믿음이다. 나는 생명력 있는 믿음을 원한다. 그러나 생명력 있는 믿음은 단지 사랑을 통해 얻을 수 있다. 사람이 사랑을 통해 자신 안에 안전감을 느끼면, 그가 비로소 믿음의 삶을 산다. 이런 믿음은 진실로 행복한 믿음이고 이제 그의 모든 뜻과 생각을 정하고, 그에게 영원한 생명을 주는 삶을 살게 한다.

이성적으로 믿는 일은 혼이 성숙한 증거가 아니다. 왜냐면 인간은 양육을 통해 기독교의 영역으로 가도록 떠밀릴 수 있기 때문이다. 그는 확신을 가지고 나와 인간으로 살았던 이 땅의 내 삶과 내 구속 역사를 거부할 수 없고, 이 모든 일을 사실이라고 생각한다. 그러나 그의 심장은 이에 감동할 필요는 없다. 그에게 이런 일은 그가 부인할 수 없는 역사적 사건이지만 그러나 그는 그런 일을 있는 그대로 느끼지 못하고, 그의 심장에 감동을 주지 못하고, 그 안에서 사랑이 성장할 때 비로소 그의 심장이 감동을 받는다. 그러면 이를 믿는 믿음은 그 안에 축복을 불러 일으킬 것이고, 그 안에서 어떤 것이 생명력이 있게 되고, 그러면 사람이 이 가운데 인류에게 행하는 내 역사를 느끼게 된다. 그러면 그가 비로소 영원한 생명으로 인도하는 믿음에 대해 말할 수 있다.

나는 하나님의 구세주인 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 첫번째로 요구한다. 왜냐면 영원한 생명의 길은 단지 예수 그리스도를 통해 가능한 길이고, 예수 그리스도가 없이는 구속받을 수 없는 죄짐으로 인해 유일하게 하나님을 믿는 믿음으로는 충분하지 않기 때문이다. 그러므로 내가 말했다: "나를 믿는 사람은 영원히 살 것이다." 주의하라. 예수 그리스도는 세상의 구세주로서 믿음을 요구했지만 믿음은 항상 사랑을 통해 생명력이 있게 된 믿음을 의미한다. 그러므로 사람들이 먼저 내가 영원한 축복으로 인도하는 길을 사람들에게 보여주기 위해 사람들에게 준 사랑의 계명을 성취시켜야만 한다. 그러면 그들은 또한 믿을 수 있게 될 것이고 이런 믿음으로 영원한 생명에 들어가게 될 것이다.
