Belief in the immortality of the soul necessary to work on oneself....

People must realize that earthly life is only a means to an end, but never an end in itself. Only this realization spurs them on to strive to reach the goal for the sake of which man walks on earth. Consequently, the belief in the soul's survival after death must be conveyed to him, the immortality of the soul must be explained to him, even though this cannot be proven to the human being. Knowledge must be made accessible to him which makes the doctrine of immortality understandable to him, so that it now becomes easy for him to believe even without proof. Only then does he regard the earth as a means to an end and orientates his whole life towards survival after death. Only this thought allows him to look at earthly goods with different eyes, for he now learns to assess their transience and focusses his attention on the things that last for eternity. And what he now does, he brings into connection with the life beyond. As soon as the human being believes that life has no end with death he thinks about what kind of life after death may be; thus he sends his spirit upwards, i.e. to regions which are the soul's abode after the end of earthly life. And in these regions he is now given information, namely mentally, so that the human being now full of conviction regards himself as a traveller on earth whose course of life will soon be over and he tries to make productive use of this short time on earth. The belief in immortality is therefore inevitably necessary if the human being is to begin the work on his soul, just as this belief also prevents the human being from living a purely worldly life. However, there is no irrefutable proof of the soul's survival. This, too, is a teaching that can never be proven, but which can become the deepest conviction through diligent reflection, just as everything spiritual is not to be proven, so that the free will of man is not restricted and faith is therefore an unconstrained one....

Crença na imortalidade da alma necessária para trabalhar em si mesmo....

As pessoas devem compreender que a vida terrena é apenas um meio para um fim, mas nunca um fim em si mesma. Só esta realização os estimula a lutar para alcançar a meta para a qual o ser humano caminha na Terra. Consequentemente, a crença na sobrevivência da alma após a morte tem de ser-lhe transmitida, a imortalidade da alma tem de ser-lhe comprovada, mesmo que isso não possa ser provado ao ser humano. O conhecimento deve ser tornado acessível a ele, o que torna a doutrina da imortalidade compreensível para ele, de modo que agora se torna fácil para ele acreditar mesmo sem provas. Só então ele considera a Terra como um meio para atingir um fim e ajustar toda a sua vida à sobrevivência após a morte. Só esse pensamento lhe permite olhar para os bens terrenos com olhos diferentes, pois agora ele aprende a valorizar a sua transitoriedade, e dirige a sua atenção para as coisas que duram para a eternidade. E o que ele agora faz, ele traz em conexão com a vida do além. Assim que o ser humano acredita que a vida não termina com a morte, ele pensa em que tipo de vida pode ser a vida após a morte; assim ele envia seu espírito para cima, isto é, para as regiões que são a morada da alma após o fim da vida terrena. E nessas regiões ele agora recebe informações, e isso mentalmente, de modo que o ser humano agora se vê cheio de convicção como um vagabundo na Terra, cujo curso de vida logo terminará, e ele procura fazer uso produtivo desse curto tempo na Terra. A crença na imortalidade é, portanto, inevitavelmente necessária para que o ser humano comece a trabalhar na sua alma, mas esta crença também impede o ser humano de viver uma vida puramente mundana. Mas não há nenhuma prova irrefutável da sobrevivência da alma. Este também é um ensinamento que nunca pode ser provado, mas que pode tornar-se uma convicção profunda através de uma reflexão ávida, tal como tudo o que é espiritual não deve ser provado, para que o livre arbítrio do ser humano não seja restringido e a fé não seja, portanto, limitada...._>Amém
