The spiritual low is recognizable in times of need....

The spiritual low will become particularly apparent when a general adversity will affect people and therefore turning to God is the only thing that could bring them help. But they will not take this path because they lack faith in a loving and merciful God. And this faith alone allows them to endure the most difficult things. But where faith is lacking, there will be indescribable chaos.... fear and worry will make people despair who do not know of one Who is close to them. And people will fear for their lives and no one will come to their aid.... yet they will not remember the one Who can help them. Their hearts are empty and so is their spirit, they only see the earthly horrors and hardships, they see everything around them falling apart, they see their possessions being lost and they have no consolation, no hope and no explanation for the terrible misfortune that affects them, for they do not realize the necessity of that which shakes their whole thinking. They will leave their neighbour in need without help, for they are only concerned with saving their property and keeping their lives safe. And it will turn out how distant people are from God, how they only pray to Him with their lips when they call upon Him or mention His name, but only very few will seriously remember the creator and commend themselves to Him and His grace, and these few will be mocked and ridiculed by their fellow human beings. In their distance from God, they lack all faith in an almighty, wise and loving creator. They only know the world and it is threatening to collapse.... And the spiritual low of people is clearly recognizable, because they are only attached to earthly life and do not think about their soul and life after death. They fear losing their lives and are therefore extremely worried, but they do not think about their spiritual hardship, which has a far more bitter effect in the beyond than the most difficult fate on earth can have. Yet the adversity is unavoidable, for the spiritual low will not lift without it, but God remembers the few who find Him in this adversity and are saved by it for eternity....

Der geistige Tiefstand ist erkennbar in Zeiten der Not....

Der geistige Tiefstand wird besonders stark zutage treten, wenn eine allgemeine Not die Menschen betreffen wird und also die Zuflucht zu Gott das einzige ist, was ihnen Hilfe bringen könnte. Doch diesen Weg werden sie nicht gehen, weil ihnen der Glaube fehlt an einen liebevollen und barmherzigen Gott. Und dieser Glaube allein läßt sie das Schwerste ertragen. Wo aber der Glaube mangelt, dort wird ein unbeschreibliches Chaos sein.... es wird Angst und Sorge die Menschen verzweifeln lassen, die nicht Einen über sich wissen, Der ihnen nahe ist. Und es werden die Menschen um ihr Leben bangen, und niemand wird ihnen zu Hilfe kommen.... doch des Einen, Der ihnen helfen kann, gedenken sie nicht. Leer ist es in ihren Herzen, und leer also auch im Geist, sie sehen nur die irdischen Schrecken und Nöte, sie sehen alles um sich zerfallen, sie sehen den Besitz verlorengehen, und sie haben keinen Trost, keine Hoffnung und keine Erklärung für das entsetzliche Unglück, das sie betrifft, denn sie wissen nicht um die Notwendigkeit dessen, was ihr ganzes Denken erschüttert. Sie werden den Nächsten in der Not ohne Hilfe lassen, denn sie sind nur darauf bedacht, ihr Eigentum zu retten und ihr Leben in Sicherheit zu bringen. Und es wird sich erweisen, wie gottfern die Menschen sind, wie sie nur mit den Lippen zu Ihm beten, so sie Ihn anrufen oder Seinen Namen im Munde führen, doch ernstlich des Schöpfers zu gedenken und sich Ihm und Seiner Gnade zu empfehlen, das werden nur sehr wenige tun, und diese wenigen werden verhöhnt und verspottet werden von den Mitmenschen. In ihrer Gottferne mangelt ihnen jeglicher Glaube an einen allmächtigen, weisen und liebevollen Schöpfer. Sie kennen nur die Welt, und diese droht zusammenzustürzen.... Und der geistige Tiefstand der Menschen ist deutlich erkennbar, denn sie hängen nur an dem irdischen Leben und gedenken nicht ihrer Seele und des Lebens nach dem Tode. Ihr Leben fürchten sie zu verlieren und sind deshalb in größter Besorgnis, doch an ihre geistige Not denken sie nicht, die weit bitterer sich auswirkt im Jenseits, als das schwerste Los auf Erden sein kann. Doch es ist die Not unabwendbar, denn es hebt sich ohne solche der geistige Tiefstand nicht, Gott aber gedenket der wenigen, die in dieser Not zu Ihm finden und durch sie gerettet werden für die Ewigkeit....
