Belief in survival.... working of love.... recognize....

The belief that life ends with bodily death renders the human being incapable of spiritual endeavour, for he will then always focus his attention on worldly demands and their fulfilment. This is then his only endeavour and it is understandable that his spiritual higher development is then called into question. Spiritual knowledge, which should motivate a person to work on his soul, can indeed be replaced by extraordinary loving activity, for anyone who practices this will soon come to recognize the truth and also to believe. This is the inevitable consequence of eager labour of love. As soon as a person is serious about improving his character, about transforming his nature, he is also on the right path without faith in survival, for love has a redeeming effect and redemption is the only purpose of life. But again, every work of love must be carried out in free will. It cannot be effective if a certain influencing of the will has preceded it. Spiritual freedom is a precondition for spiritual success. And that is why a reorganization of thinking and acting cannot be carried out by force, and that is why divine love must be presented to men, which can certainly influence man to strive in itself, but never touches him as spiritual compulsion. Evidence of life after death is required, and this can be recognized with little attention, for the influx of spiritual strength alone is proof that forces beyond earthly life are active, and this certainty should give rise to the belief that life will continue. Yet the fact that people lack precisely this faith is simultaneously proof of the fact that people's activity of love is also very limited and is often merely a mechanical performance of a labour of love as a result of earthly laws or demands which, however, are devoid of all inner love. For only that is true love which comes from the heart and which drives the heart to ever new activity of love. This love will have a redeeming effect and the human being will be led to believe in a continuation of life after death and also recognize a spiritual working if he is in this love. For he will unite himself with God through the activity of love and God will guide him into realizing....

La fede nella continuità della vita - L’agire d’amore - La conoscenza

La fede che la vita sia finita con la morte corporea, rende l’uomo incapace al tendere spirituale, perché allora rivolgerà la sua attenzione sempre alle pretese mondane ed il loro esaudimento. Questo è poi il suo unico tendere ed è comprensibile che poi è dubbioso il suo sviluppo verso l’Alto. Il sapere spirituale che deve spingere l’uomo al lavoro sulla sua anima, può bensì essere sostituito attraverso una straordinaria attività d’amore, perché chi si esercita in questa, arriverà anche presto a riconoscere la Verità ed anche la fede. Questa è l’inevitabile conseguenza del fervente agire d’amore. Appena l’uomo la prende sul serio con il suo sviluppo verso l’Alto, con la trasformazione del suo essere, allora è sulla retta via anche senza la fede in una continuità della vita, perché l’amore agisce in modo salvifico e la liberazione è l’unico scopo della vita. Soltanto ogni opera d’amore deve di nuovo essere eseguita nella libera volontà. Non può essere efficace se è preceduta una certa influenza sull’anima. La libertà spirituale è la pre-condizione per successi spirituali. E perciò una trasformazione del pensare ed agire non può essere eseguita per costrizione e perciò agli uomini dev’essere sottoposto l’Amore divino che può bensì influenzare l’uomo al tendere, ma non lo tocca mai come costrizione spirituale. Per la vita dopo la morte vengono richieste delle dimostrazioni e queste possono essere riconosciute con una minima attenzione, perché già l’afflusso della Forza spirituale è una dimostrazione che al di fuori della vita terrena sono attive delle Forze e questa certezza dovrebbe far sorgere la fede in una continuità di vita. Ma che agli uomini manca proprio questa fede, è contemporaneamente una dimostrazione che anche l’attività d’amore fra gli uomini è solo molto scarsa, e sovente un esercitare meccanico di un’opera d’amore è la conseguenza di leggi o pretese terrene che però sono prive di qualsiasi amore interiore. Perché è solo vero amore che proviene dal cuore e questo spinge sempre a nuova attività d’amore. Questo amore agirà in modo liberatorio e l’uomo verrà guidato alla fede sulla continuità della vita dopo la morte e riconoscerà anche un agire spirituale, se sta in questo amore. Perché attraverso l’agire nell’amore si unisce con Dio e Dio lo conduce alla conoscenza.
