Collecting intellectual property....

Blessed is the man who has found God. His life on earth has not been lived in vain. The world cannot offer him what God Himself gives him, for the world only hands out earthly goods, and these are transient. God, however, gives spiritual treasures, and these retain their value for eternity. And what a person has once received in spiritual goods he can never lose, nor can it be taken from him, it will not diminish even if he gives it away. And thus God rewards people for their devotion to Him, He bestows divine gifts upon them, He makes them unimaginably happy, for even if the body feels little of it, the soul, however, finds every gift of strength in the form of knowledge extremely beneficial and grateful, and it remains in constant contact with God because it no longer wants to miss the blissful state. And this is a state of freedom and security in the lord that no worldly pleasures can outweigh. And yet this precious good is only rarely sought after, and it is not recognized as such; and even if it is offered to people, they do not know how to appreciate it. They pass it by carelessly, and therefore they cannot be fed with the bread of heaven, which only those who desire it ardently can receive. And even if they do not harm themselves with the pleasures of the world, their life is to be valued very low and the end will be the bitterest poverty of spiritual treasures. For man can only take spiritual goods into eternity, he must leave earthly goods behind. And that is why man should first collect the goods which he can take over with him, and he should think of his soul, which must live in want when its spiritual goods have been withheld. Spiritual possessions, however, can only be gained once the human being has learnt to recognize and love God, for then he will only strive for union with Him and he will be granted something delectable.... he receives love from God, which expresses itself in the gift of knowledge.... He now already lives in the spiritual kingdom although he still dwells on earth. But his soul continuously draws from the divine source of grace.... and richly enriched he will then enter the eternal kingdom....

영적인 재물을 모으는 일.

하나님을 찾은 사람은 복이 있다. 그의 이 땅의 삶은 헛되게 살지 않은 삶이다. 세상은 하나님이 주는 것을 그에게 줄 수 없다. 왜냐하면 세상은 이 땅의 재물만을 주고, 이땅의 재물은 헛된 것이기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님은 영적인 보물을 주고, 영적인 보물은 영원히 가치를 유지하다. 그리고 사람이 한번 영적인 재물을 받으면, 그는 이를 절대로 잃을 수 없으며, 그에게서 빼앗을 수 없고, 비록 그가 영적인 재물의 일부를 나눠주더라도, 영저인 재물이 감소되지 않는다.

그러므로 하나님은 사람들에게 자신에게 헌신한 보상을 주고, 그들에게 하나님의 선물을 준다. 하나님은 그들을 상상할 수 없게 행복하게 만든다. 왜냐면 비록 육체가 이를 적게 느끼지만, 혼은 지식의 형태의 모든 힘의 공급을 아주 행복하고, 감사하게 느끼기 때문이다. 혼은 이제 하나님과 지속적으로 연결이 된 가운데 머문다. 왜냐면 혼은 더 이상 행복한 상태를 더이상 놓치고 싶지 않기 때문이다.

이런 상태는 어떤 세상의 기쁨이 이보다 더 큰 기쁨을 줄 수 없는 주님 안에서 자유하고, 안전한 상태이다. 그러나 사람들이 이런 귀중한 선물을 단지 적게 추구하고, 귀중한 선물을 귀중한 선물로 깨닫지를 못한다. 귀중한 선물이 사람들에게 제공될지라도, 그들은 귀중한 선물을 가치를 모르고, 지나친다. 그러므로 그들은 단지 간절히 갈망하는 사람만이 받을 수 있는 하늘의 양식을 먹을 수 없다.

비록 그들이 세상의 기쁨을 자신에게 해를 끼치지 않는 것으로 여길지라도, 그들의 삶은 매우 낮은 평가를 받아야만 하고, 그들의 마지막은 영적인 재물이 없는 가장 끔찍한 가난이 될 것이다. 왜냐면 사람이 단지 영적인 재물을 영원으로 가지고 갈 수 있고, 이 땅의 재물을 남겨둬야만 하기 때문이다. 그러므로 인간은 먼저 그가 가져갈 수 있는 재물을 모아야 하고, 혼에게 영적인 재물을 주지 않는다면, 굶주려야만 하는 혼의 고통을 기억해야 한다.

그러나 영적인 재물은 사람이 하나님을 깨닫고, 사랑하는 법을 배웠을 때, 얻을 수 있다. 왜냐하면 그러면 그가 단지 하나님과 연합하기 위해 추구하고, 그에게 가장 귀한 것이 주어질 것이기 때문이다. 그는 지식을 주는 일로 나타나는 하나님으로부터 사랑을 받는다. 그는 아직 이 땅에 있지만, 그는 이미 영의 나라에 거한다. 그러나 그의 혼은 하나님의 은혜의 원천에서 끊임없이 기른다. 그는 풍부하게 받고, 영원한 나라에 들어가게 될 것이다.
