Light-filled or lightless and powerless state in the afterlife....

The human being's departure from earth is such a significant process because all physical forces fall away from him in order to be replaced by spiritual forces, or.... where this is not possible due to the soul's lack of maturity it means a powerless state for the soul. Both the influx of spiritual strength and the loss of it are perceptible to the soul, for it feels, just as in earthly life, the lack and the abundance of what is now flowing towards it as agony or as happiness. It feels transported into a state that is free of any physical heaviness, but its sensations determine the degree of well-being. After a short rest the soul will either be active or it will remain in an agonizing inactivity and will not be able to free itself from it. The unredeemed soul lacks strength and the realization of this is unspeakably oppressive. It is bound, it is in a situation in which it does not feel well and cannot free itself from it. It has a desire for earthly things and this desire remains unfulfilled. It is in a joyless gloomy place and wants to escape from it, but it holds it back as if with chains in the place where it is staying. Its whole state is discomfort, because it is not deprived of its sensory faculty, because it can only see with spiritual eyes, but these are still very weak, so that it is unable to see anything and is therefore in a completely lightless region. And the powerless state is extremely agonizing for it because it still knows about the state on earth and therefore knows that it has gone backwards. And now it depends on how the realization of its situation affects its will, which it likewise still possesses unchanged. Its situation is so bleak that it is forced to reflect on it; it can now either apathetically accept everything although it does not like the state.... The powerlessness can be so great that its will is likewise inactive, that it does nothing to change the situation, i.e. that it does not muster the will to change it. Then it will always remain in the same situation until the soul can no longer endure the agony and longs for other surroundings. But it can also remember in bitterness and hatred the one Who imposed this state on the soul. It can quarrel with its fate and allow all its bad instincts to break through in thought and will. Then it itself aggravates its condition and it becomes ever more lightless and ever more bound. For now it is beset by the forces of the underworld, which seek to win it over completely. On the other hand, however, beings from the kingdom of light also approach it, albeit in disguise, and try to persuade it to become active itself in order to transform its dark state into one full of light. And again the will is decisive as to which urge the soul gives in to. A longing thought upwards already brings it relief and can be the beginning of the path upwards. The will alone is decisive, and it will either bring deepened agony or redemption of the soul and at the same time cause the supply of strength.... The powerless being only needs to want that power flows to it, then this will also be imparted to it.... However, as long as the will is inactive and does not strive for such, no change in its situation in a favourable sense will occur. The supply of strength alone determines the soul's state of happiness in the beyond. A soul that receives strength immediately upon entering the spiritual kingdom is a blissful creature. It can now do nothing but be active, for the supply of strength increases its urge to be active. It feels so happy that it does not want to and cannot carry the happiness alone, that it is in need of communication and wants to give of its strength to the unhappy souls, because its feeling is full of deepest compassion for the still immature souls who have to live in want. And it stands in the midst of the light, and this also allows it to recognize.... both the delights of bliss and the suffering of unredeemed beings. It now wants to carry light over into the realm of darkness, it wants to help the souls in need and now starts its activity by seeking access to the unhappy souls and tries to mentally influence them to free themselves from their lethargy and to strive, i.e., like it, to help those who are still deeper in spiritual night.... If it succeeds in this, then it has kindled love in the immature souls, and then their work on themselves begins. The desire to help is the only way to improve their situation, and once the will has become active in this direction there is only one ascent for the soul, for it will receive strength to the same extent as it needs it to help other unhappy souls. Love is the only redeeming power. Without love there is no way out of the powerless state; but once love breaks through, the agonizing, lightless state will soon be overcome, the surroundings will become increasingly brighter and clearer for the soul, the desire for light will become stronger, and accordingly the strength will flow to it, which triggers the state of bliss in the soul and is again the impetus for the highest activity.... to redeeming activity in the beyond....

저세상의 빛이 충만하거나 또는 빛이 없고, 무기력한 상태.

사람이 이 땅으로부터 분리되는 일은 영적인 힘으로 대체하기 위해, 모든 신체의 힘이 그로부터 사라지는 의미가 있는 과정이다. 이런 대체하는 일이 혼이 성숙한 정도가 부족하여 불가능한 경우 혼에게 힘이 없는 상태를 의미한다.

영적인 힘을 받는 일과 영적인 힘을 잃는 일을 혼이 느낄 수 있다. 왜냐하면 혼이 이 땅의 삶에서처럼, 이제 혼에게 임하는 영적인 힘의 부족이나 충분함을, 고통이나 행복으로 느끼기 때문이다. 혼은 실제 모든 육체의 짐이 없는 상태에 있다고 느낀다. 그러나 그들의 이런 느낌이 행복한 정도를 정한다. 혼은 잠시 휴식을 취한 후에 활발하게 활동하거나, 또는 고통이 가득한 활동하지 못하는 상태로 머물고, 자신을 이런 상태로부터 자유롭게 할 수 없다.

구속을 받지 못한 혼에게 힘이 부족하고, 이를 깨닫는 일이 말할 수 없게 짓눌리게 한다. 혼은 자신이 묶여 있는 것과 같고, 행복하게 느낄 수 없는 상태에 있고, 이런 상태로부터 자신을 벗어나게 할 수 없다. 혼은 이 땅의 것에 대한 갈망이 있지만, 이런 갈망은 성취되지 않는다. 혼은 기쁨이 없는, 우울한 영역에 거하고, 이런 영역을 벗어나기를 원한다. 그러나 사슬이 혼을 매고 있는 것처럼 혼은 거하는 장소에 묶여 있다. 혼에게서 느낄 수 있는 능력을 빼앗지 않았기 때문에, 혼이 영적인 눈으로만 볼 수 있고, 볼 수 있는 능력이 약하고, 전혀 빛이 없는 영역에 거하고 있기 때문에, 혼의 모든 상태는 불편한 상태이다.

힘이 없는 상태는 혼에게 극도로 고통스럽다. 왜냐하면 혼은 아직 이 땅의 상태에 대해 알고 있고, 자신이 퇴보했다는 것을 알기 때문이다. 이제 혼의 자신의 상황에 대한 깨달음이, 아직 변하지 않은 상태로 가지고 있는 혼의 의지에 어떤 역사를 일으키는 지가 중요하다. 혼의 상태는 너무 암울해서, 혼은 생각을 하도록 강요를 받는다. 혼이 이제 상태 혼을 평안하게 하지 않을지라도, 무관심하게 모든 것을 받아드릴 수 있다.

무기력함이 너무 커서, 혼의 의지가 마찬가지로 아무 일도 하지 않고, 이런 상태를 바꾸기 위한 어떤 일도 시작할 수 없다. 다시 말해 혼이 이런 상태를 바꿀 의지를 드릴 수 없다. 그러면 혼은 더 이상 고통을 견딜 수 없어, 다른 환경을 요구할 때까지, 항상 같은 상황에 머물게 될 것이다. 그러나 혼 또한 비통함으로 증오하면서 자신에게 이런 상태를 부과한 분을 생각할 수 있다.

혼은 자신의 운명에 불평할 수 있고, 생각과 의지를 통해 모든 악한 충동에 따라 행할 수 있다. 그러면 혼은 자신의 상태를 더 악화시킨다. 혼의 상태는 항상 더 빛이 없어지고, 항상 더 묶임을 받게 된다. 왜냐면 혼이 이제 혼을 얻기 원하는 지하 세계의 세력의 공격을 받기 때문이다.

그러나 다른 한편으로 빛의 나라의 존재들이, 비록 가장을 했을지라도, 혼에게 다가가, 혼이 자신의 어두운 상태를 빛이 더 많은 상태로 바꾸기 위해, 스스로 일하게 하려고 노력한다. 다시 혼이 재촉에 굴복하려는 의지가 결정적이다. 갈망하는 생각이 이미 혼에게 안도감을 주고, 이는 높은 곳을 향한 길의 시작이 될 수 있다.

의지만이 유일하게 결정적이다. 의지가 혼에게 더 깊은 고통을 주거나 또는 혼을 구원해주고, 동시에 힘의 공급을 받게 할 것이다. 무력한 존재는 단지 자신에게 힘이 흐르기를 원하기 만하면 된다. 그러면 힘이 그에게 주어진다. 그러나 의지가 역사하지 않고, 자신에게 힘이 흐르도록 추구하지 않는 동안에는, 혼의 상황에 유리한 의미의 변화가 없게 될 것이다.

힘의 공급만이 유일하게 저세상의 혼의 행복을 위해 결정적이다. 영의 나라에 들어가는 즉시 힘을 받는 혼은 행복한 피조물이다. 혼은 이제 일을 할 수밖에 없다. 왜냐면 힘의 공급이 혼의 일하려는 충동을 증가시키기 때문이다. 혼은 너무나 행복해서, 이런 행복을 혼자서 감당하기를 원지 않고, 원할 수 없어, 전해주려는 소원을 가지고, 자신의 힘을 힘이 필요한 혼들에게 주기를 원한다. 왜냐하면 혼의 감정은 아직 성숙하지 못해, 굶주려야만 하는 혼들을 향한 깊은 연민으로 가득 차 있기 때문이다.

혼은 빛의 한가운데 있고, 이런 상태가 혼이 축복된 기쁨과 구원받지 못한 존재의 고난을 모두 다 깨닫게 해준다. 혼은 이제 어두움의 영역 안으로 빛을 전해주기를 원한다. 혼은 위험에 빠진 혼들을 돕기를 원하고, 이제 불행한 혼들에게 접근하여, 그들에게 생각을 통해, 그들의 게으름을 벗어나도록 역사를 시작하고, 그들이 자신들보다 더 깊은 영적인 밤중에 있는 혼들을 돕는 일을 동시에 추구하도록 역사를 시작한다.

혼이 이 일에 성공을 한다면, 혼은 성숙하지 못한 혼들에게 사랑이 타오르게 한 것이다. 그러면 성숙하지 못한 혼들의 자신에 대한 작업이 시작된다. 돕기를 원하는 갈망이 혼들의 상황을 개선시킬 수 있는 유일한 가능성이다. 일단 의지가 한번 이런 방향으로 역사하게 되면, 혼에게는 단지 성장하는 일만이 있게 된다. 왜냐하면 다른 불행한 혼들에게 도움을 주기 위해 필요한 만큼의 힘이 혼에게 주어지기 때문이다.

사랑이 유일한 구원하는 권세이다. 사랑이 없이는 무력한 상태에서 벗어날 방법이 없다. 그러나 사랑이 일단 역사하게 되면, 곧 고통이 큰 상태가, 빛이 없는 상태가 극복이 되고, 환경은 혼이 볼 수 있게 더 밝고 선명해지고, 빛을 향한 갈망이 강해진다. 이런 갈망에 따라 혼에게 또한 힘이 공급되고, 이런 일이 혼을 행복의 상태에 빠지게 하고, 최고로 활동하도록, 저 세상에서 구원하는 일을 하도록 다시 자극을 해준다.
