The pure in heart.... truth....

Purity of heart is the guarantee that a person is in the truth. He who does evil also thinks evil; but he who endeavours to remain clear and pure for God must also think accordingly. The man who is pure of heart will always abhor everything that is contrary to the divine, he will be able to search in the depths of the heart because no filth prevents him from seeing, and wisdom will likewise rise up to him because it finds no obstacle. And everyone will be pure of heart who lives in and with God, who remains connected to Him, who lives his life consciously, i.e., who recognizes his earthly task, gives himself to God and always endeavours to fulfil His will. He will no longer want to and be able to live without God and every dishonest thought will stay away from him; if he has become weak he will sincerely ask God for forgiveness because his heart recognizes the wrong and does not consciously want to do wrong.... He will endeavour to take the right path and pray to God for strength and grace. Purity of heart must therefore also result in a person's correct thinking, for since the heart is the receptacle of truth from God, as soon as a person endeavours to shape and maintain it in a pure and receptive state, untruth will no longer be tolerated in it, it will be abhorred like all impurities and therefore rejected, because a person who is pure of heart has a desire for truth. And the desire for truth is also fulfilment.... Desire for truth is also desire for God, Who is truth Himself.... Desire for God, however, eliminates the work of the opposing power. Those who are pure of heart recognize the lie, they can therefore also no longer be misled, i.e. out of ignorance accept something as truth which contradicts it.... They will reject it, even if they cannot justify it intellectually. But their heart resists it because, due to its purity, it has a mimosa-like feeling and judgement for the spiritual good that seeks entrance. Unfair thoughts and actions dull the heart's sensitivity, and therefore those who profess the world and its pleasures will not stand in the truth either, for the desire for it also gives rise to thoughts and desires that are not exclusively for God, but for the one whose kingdom is the world.... And these thoughts will not be truthful and pure, they will awaken and favour those instincts which man is supposed to overcome, and thus will only be and remain a danger to the purity of the heart and an obstacle to receiving the pure truth from God.... But those who lack the truth also lack the light, and they do not find the path that leads to God....

Die reinen Herzens sind.... Wahrheit....

In der Reinheit des Herzens ist die Gewähr gegeben, daß sich der Mensch in der Wahrheit befindet. Wer Übles tut, der denkt auch übel; wer sich jedoch bemüht, klar und rein zu bleiben für Gott, dessen Denken muß auch dementsprechend sein. Der Mensch, der reinen Herzens ist, wird stets alles verabscheuen, was dem Göttlichen zuwiderstrebt, er wird in der Tiefe des Herzens forschen können, weil kein Unrat ihm den Einblick verwehrt, und ebenso wird die Weisheit zu ihm emporsteigen, weil sie kein Hindernis findet. Und reinen Herzens wird jeder sein, der in und mit Gott lebt, der mit Ihm verbunden bleibt, der sein Leben bewußt lebt, d.h., der seine Erdenaufgabe erkennt, sich Gott zu eigen gibt und immer bemüht ist, Seinen Willen zu erfüllen. Er wird ohne Gott nicht mehr leben wollen und können, und jeder unlautere Gedanke wird ihm fernbleiben; er wird, so er schwach wurde, Gott innig um Vergebung bitten, weil sein Herz das Unrecht erkennt und es nicht bewußt Unrecht tun will.... Er wird den rechten Weg zu gehen bemüht sein und zu Gott bitten um Kraft und Gnade. Die Reinheit des Herzens muß demnach auch zur Folge haben, daß der Mensch im rechten Denken steht, denn da das Herz das Aufnahmegefäß der Wahrheit aus Gott ist, sowie der Mensch bemüht ist, es rein und empfangswürdig zu gestalten und zu erhalten, wird die Unwahrheit nicht mehr darin geduldet werden, sie wird verabscheut werden wie alles Unreine und daher abgelehnt, weil der Mensch, der reinen Herzens ist, im Wahrheitsverlangen steht. Und Verlangen nach Wahrheit ist auch Erfüllung.... Verlangen nach Wahrheit ist auch Verlangen nach Gott, Der die Wahrheit Selbst ist.... Verlangen nach Gott aber schaltet das Wirken der Gegenmacht aus. Die reinen Herzens sind, erkennen die Lüge, sie können demnach auch nicht mehr irregeleitet werden, d.h. aus Unkenntnis heraus etwas als Wahrheit annehmen, was dieser widerspricht.... Sie werden es ablehnen, selbst wenn sie dies verstandesmäßig nicht begründen können. Doch ihr Herz wehrt sich dagegen, weil es durch die Reinheit ein mimosenhaftes Empfinden und Beurteilungsvermögen für das Geistesgut hat, was Eingang sucht. Unlautere Gedanken und Handlungen stumpfen das Empfindungsvermögen des Herzens ab, und daher (wird = d. Hg.) auch nicht in der Wahrheit stehen, wer sich zur Welt und deren Freuden bekennt, denn das Verlangen danach zeitigt auch Gedanken und Begierden, die nicht ausschließlich Gott gelten, sondern dem, dessen Reich die Welt ist.... Und diese Gedanken werden nicht lauter und rein sein, sie werden jene Triebe wecken und begünstigen, die der Mensch überwinden soll, und also nur eine Gefahr sein und bleiben für die Reinheit des Herzens und ein Hindernis für das Empfangen der reinen Wahrheit aus Gott.... Denen aber die Wahrheit mangelt, denen mangelt auch das Licht, und sie finden den Weg nicht, der zu Gott führt....
