Resistance hinders the power of cognition....

Whatever man resists remains incomprehensible to him until he has given up his inner resistance. He can only recognize the truth when the power of knowledge comes to him, which is again the result of the desire for truth. However, a desire for the truth presupposes a certain willingness, i.e. the opposite of resistance. Willfulness will always trigger a humble feeling, while resistance is paired with arrogance. Humility earns man grace, but arrogance keeps it from him, and without grace man cannot mature his soul. Without grace, however, he remains blind in spirit, ignorant and without light. But where divine grace flows to man, he becomes seeing, knowing and radiant with light. Resistance is therefore wrong will, which must be corrected. If the human being gives up resistance, i.e. if his will is turned towards God, then many things will appear acceptable to him which he had previously rejected as unacceptable, and this is brought about by divine grace which then flows to the human being when his will consciously acknowledges God. This is why people raise objections against divine revelations until they have declared their will for enlightenment. For then they are ready to listen for the answer and their intellect grasps it from the moment the desire for the answer is aroused in them. Without a question the truth cannot be given to him; and if it were offered to him the human being would not be able to receive it and therefore he will walk along in the darkness of the spirit as long as he does not desire the light....

A resistência dificulta o poder da cognição....

O que o ser humano resiste permanece incompreensível para ele até que ele tenha desistido da sua resistência interior. Ele só pode reconhecer a verdade quando recebe o poder do conhecimento, que é novamente o resultado do desejo da verdade. O desejo de verdade, no entanto, pressupõe uma certa vontade, portanto o oposto de resistência. A voluntariedade desencadeará sempre um sentimento de humildade, enquanto a resistência é acompanhada de arrogância. A humildade ganha a graça do ser humano, mas a arrogância o afasta dele, e sem graça o ser humano não pode amadurecer em sua alma. Sem graça, porém, ele permanece cego de espírito, ignorante e sem luz. Mas onde a graça divina flui para o homem, ele se torna vidente, conhecedor e radiante de luz. Portanto, a resistência é uma vontade errada que deve ser julgada. Se o ser humano desistir da resistência, isto é, se a sua vontade se voltar para Deus, então muitas coisas lhe parecerão aceitáveis, as quais ele anteriormente rejeitou como inaceitáveis, e isto faz com que a graça divina flua para o ser humano quando a sua vontade confessa conscientemente a Deus. É por isso que as pessoas continuam a se opor às revelações divinas até que tenham expressado sua vontade de esclarecimento. Pois então eles estão dispostos a ouvir a resposta, e seu intelecto a agarra a partir do momento em que o desejo pela resposta é despertado nela. Sem dúvida, a verdade não lhe pode ser entregue; e se lhe fosse oferecida, o ser humano não poderia recebê-la e, portanto, viverá nas trevas espirituais enquanto não desejar a luz._>Amém
