Resistance hinders the power of cognition....

Whatever man resists remains incomprehensible to him until he has given up his inner resistance. He can only recognize the truth when the power of knowledge comes to him, which is again the result of the desire for truth. However, a desire for the truth presupposes a certain willingness, i.e. the opposite of resistance. Willfulness will always trigger a humble feeling, while resistance is paired with arrogance. Humility earns man grace, but arrogance keeps it from him, and without grace man cannot mature his soul. Without grace, however, he remains blind in spirit, ignorant and without light. But where divine grace flows to man, he becomes seeing, knowing and radiant with light. Resistance is therefore wrong will, which must be corrected. If the human being gives up resistance, i.e. if his will is turned towards God, then many things will appear acceptable to him which he had previously rejected as unacceptable, and this is brought about by divine grace which then flows to the human being when his will consciously acknowledges God. This is why people raise objections against divine revelations until they have declared their will for enlightenment. For then they are ready to listen for the answer and their intellect grasps it from the moment the desire for the answer is aroused in them. Without a question the truth cannot be given to him; and if it were offered to him the human being would not be able to receive it and therefore he will walk along in the darkness of the spirit as long as he does not desire the light....

La resistencia obstaculiza la fuerza de la cognición....

Contra qué se defiende un ser humano también le resulta incomprensible por tanto tiempo, hasta que abandona su resistencia interior. Sólo puede reconocer la verdad cuando obtiene la fuerza de la cognición, que es nuevamente el resultado del deseo de la verdad. Sin embargo, el deseo de la verdad requiere cierta voluntad, es decir, lo contrario de la resistencia.

La buena voluntad siempre creará un sentimiento de humildad, mientras que la resistencia irá acompañada de arrogancia. La humildad trae gracia al hombre, pero la arrogancia la aleja de él, y sin gracia el hombre no puede madurar en su alma. Pero sin piedad permanece ciego de espíritu, ignorante y sin luz. Pero cuando la gracia divina fluye hacia el hombre, éste llega a ver, a conocer e irradiado de luz.

De modo que la resistencia es una voluntad equivocada que debe ser dirigida. Si el ser humano renuncia a la resistencia, es decir, si su voluntad se vuelve hacia Dios, entonces le parecerán aceptables muchas cosas que antes rechazaba como inaceptables, y esto se logra por la gracia divina, que entonces fluye hacia el ser humano cuando confiesa que su voluntad se vuelve conscientemente hacia Dios.

Por lo tanto, el humano continúa objetando las revelaciones divinas hasta que haya expresado su deseo por aclaración. Porque entonces está listo para escuchar la respuesta, y su mente la capta desde el momento en que surge en él el deseo de la respuesta. Sin pregunta no se le puede asignar la verdad; y si se le mandase no sería capaz de captarla y, por tanto, seguirá caminando en la oscuridad del espíritu mientras no desee la luz....
