The battle of light against darkness....

Nr. 1922 ? Light can only be perceived as light where darkness is the opposite.... darkness again can only be recognized as an agonizing state where light is offered, this must be recognized in order to drive the being to activity or resistance....

Everything that is full of light will be willing to draw the dark entity into its circle of light. It will want to give it what it possesses itself.... This is serving in love.... The beings of darkness, however, want to destroy, they want to pull the beings of light down, they want to take the light away from them.... and this is a battle in unkindness. However, unkindness can only be countered by love, for the only successful means of the beings of light is love. This love is often brought to its highest development where the spiritual resistance is particularly great. Thus the resistance drives love to increased activity. And this is synonymous with an increase in strength. Time and again the beings of light will succeed in leading beings from darkness to light through love, and these beings will then likewise participate in the activity of love, thus the strength of love will increase and more and more beings will be snatched from the dark state. This battle of light with darkness is something purely spiritual, it is a battle which is only carried out mentally, for to bring light to the beings in darkness, to illuminate their state, is tantamount to 'spreading knowledge amongst those beings'. The state of darkness is a state of complete ignorance of God and therefore ignorance of the truth.... thus a state which is agonizing in eternity, because only by recognizing the truth does an undreamt-of happiness open up to the beingness, but the ignorant state excludes all bliss, on the other hand it ignites all evil instincts. The light beings' activity of love now consists of mentally trying to transfer the light in the form of knowledge to those beings, which can be successful with untiring patience and love.... It is therefore purely spiritual work which the being of light accomplishes and which also only has a purely spiritual effect insofar as that the thinking of these beings now refines itself, that they increasingly distance themselves from evil thoughts, from unkindness, that they suppress the feelings of hatred in order to finally enter into contact with the beings of light and can now be instructed ever more easily, thus they are introduced into the kingdom of light and thus the battle of light against darkness was not without result. Love will always remain victorious, even if it takes a long time and such battles are not always visible on earth because they only take place mentally, i.e. the transmission of light is precisely the imparting of truth to people's thoughts. This is a purely spiritual process which signifies spiritual life.... the redemption of the beings from darkness to light, which is the activity of love of the beings of light and at the same time the cause of the state of bliss of these beings of light....

Strijd van het licht tegen de duisternis

Licht kan alleen maar als licht ervaren worden, waar duisternis het tegenovergestelde is. De duisternis zal weer alleen maar als een kwellende toestand ervaren worden, waar licht aangeboden wordt. Dit moet herkend worden om het wezen tot werkzaamheid of tot tegenstand aan te sporen. Alles wat vol licht is, zal de wil hebben om het duistere wezenlijke zijn lichtkring binnen te trekken. Het zal hem willen geven, wat het zelf bezit. Dit is een dienen in liefde. Maar de wezens van de duisternis willen verwoesten. Ze willen de lichtwezens omlaag trekken. Ze willen hun het licht ontnemen. En dit is een strijd in liefdeloosheid.

Tegenover liefdeloosheid kan echter alleen maar liefde geplaatst worden, want het middel van de lichtwezens, dat alleen succes kan hebben, is de liefde. Deze liefde zal vaak daar tot de hoogste ontplooiing gebracht worden, waar de geestelijke tegenstand bijzonder groot is. Dus zet de tegenstand de liefde tot grotere activiteit aan. En dit betekent hetzelfde als toegenomen kracht. Steeds weer zal het de lichtwezens lukken om door de liefde wezens vanuit de duisternis naar het licht te leiden en deze wezens zullen dan eveneens deelhebben aan werken van liefde. Zodoende neemt de kracht van de liefde toe en steeds meer wezenlijks wordt aan de duistere toestand ontrukt.

Deze strijd van het licht tegen de duisternis is iets zuiver geestelijks. Het is een strijd die alleen maar via de gedachten uitgevochten wordt, want de wezens in de duisternis het licht te brengen, hun toestand te verlichten, betekent hetzelfde als “kennis onder deze wezens te verspreiden”. De duistere toestand is een staat van volledige onwetendheid over God en dus onwetendheid over de waarheid. Dus een toestand, die in de eeuwigheid kwellend is, omdat enkel door kennis van de waarheid het wezenlijke voor zichzelf een onvermoede gelukzaligheid ontsluit, maar de onwetende toestand alle gelukzaligheden uitsluit, maar daarentegen alle boze aandriften doet ontvlammen.

Het in liefde werkzaam zijn van de lichtwezens bestaat nu hierin, dat geprobeerd wordt licht in de vorm van kennis via de gedachten op deze wezens over te doen gaan, wat bij onvermoeibaar geduld en liefde succesvol kan zijn. Het is dus zuiver geestelijk werk, dat het lichtwezen verricht en dat ook in zoverre alleen maar zo’n zuiver geestelijk effect heeft, dat het denken van deze wezens zich nu veredelt. Dat ze steeds meer afstand nemen van boze gedachten, van liefdeloosheid, dat ze de haatgevoelens onderdrukken om uiteindelijk met de lichtwezens in verbinding te treden en nu steeds makkelijker onderwezen kunnen worden, dus het rijk van het licht binnengeleid worden en zodoende de strijd van het licht tegen de duisternis niet zonder succes was.

Steeds zal de liefde de overwinnaar blijven, ofschoon het lange tijd nodig heeft en zulke gevechten aards niet steeds zichtbaar zijn, omdat ze zich juist enkel via de gedachten afspelen. Dat wil zeggen dat het overdragen van licht juist het overdragen van de waarheid op het denken van de mens is. Dit is een zuiver geestelijke gebeurtenis, die geestelijk leven betekent. Het bevrijden van de wezens uit de duisternis naar het licht, dat het in liefde werkzaam zijn van de lichtwezens en tegelijkertijd de oorzaak van de gelukzalige toestand van deze lichtwezens is.
