Preconditions for the work of the divine spirit....

These are the preconditions for the working of the spirit in man, that he endeavours to live according to divine will, that he educates himself to humility and peaceableness, that he is prepared to serve God and the neighbour, and that he is active in love and thus forms himself to become an image of God. The spirit from God in the human being enters into an alliance with the divine spirit outside himself, which is an emanation of God; however, everything divine requires a receptacle which is worthy of receiving such precious contents, and therefore the first condition is that the human being is pure of heart, that he detests what is not good and noble.... that he strives for truth and hates lies.... that he does not harbour dishonest thoughts, keeps away from all unkindness, is just in thought and deed and serves in love.... Then his heart shapes itself in such a way that it is worthy and therefore also capable of receiving the divine spirit, for then the spirit in the human being is free and can connect with the spiritual beyond itself, which stands in perfection and therefore receives the emanation of strength from God and imparts it to the spirit in the human being. The sending out of the Holy Spirit is therefore the transmission of divine power through spiritual bearers of light and power, i.e. perfect beings who have found union with God and now constantly receive and pass on light and power.... Everyone who asks for the spirit from God from the bottom of his heart and in deepest humility will be allowed to receive the divine spirit, the holiest from God, as long as he endeavours to live in such a way that he is worthy of the most delicious gift of grace. He must recognize God as the highest and most perfect being, Who is powerful beyond all measure and wise, and thus believe.... He must ask for His love and grace, i.e. demand what God wants to hand out.... and he himself must be active in love so that God's love can communicate itself to him.... And God will overshadow a person who thus moulds himself with His grace.... He will give him unmeasured what is a divine share.... His spirit.... He will guide him into right thinking, enlighten his spirit and give him strength to recognize what is right. He will enrich his knowledge, and creation will be revealed to him brightly and clearly. He will know the meaning and purpose of it, he will penetrate into the spiritual kingdom and only then will he realize the significance of his life on earth. But man himself must do one thing.... he must willingly open his ear if the spirit from God wants to make itself known to him.... The heart, his spiritual ear, must declare itself ready to receive and thus prepare itself by closing itself off from all the world, by focussing only on God and pleadingly awaiting the divine gift.... And on gentle wings the spirit of God descends upon those people who are willing to hear the divine word.... For when they turn their hearts upwards they listen to the word that comes from above and which resounds in the heart so delicately and subtly that it can only be heard when love for God sharpens the spiritual ear, when all worldly desire falls silent and the longing of the heart is only for the divine gift. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is therefore dependent on man himself, on his will, his faith and his love.... Where the will is turned towards God, where faith in divine activity is strong and where love for God and neighbour establishes the connection with God, there the spirit from God will enlighten people and introduce them to all truth....

Vorbedingungen zum Wirken des göttlichen Geistes....

Dies sind die Vorbedingungen zum Wirken des Geistes im Menschen, daß er sich bemühe, zu leben dem göttlichen Willen gemäß, daß er sich erziehet zur Demut und Friedfertigkeit, daß er bereit ist, zu dienen Gott und dem Nächsten, und daß er liebetätig ist und sich also formet, um ein Ebenbild Gottes zu werden. Es geht der Geist aus Gott im Menschen ein Bündnis ein mit dem göttlichen Geist außer sich, der eine Ausstrahlung Gottes ist; alles Göttliche aber bedingt ein Aufnahmegefäß, das würdig ist, so köstlichen Inhalt aufzunehmen, und es ist daher erste Bedingung, daß der Mensch reinen Herzens ist, daß er verabscheut, was nicht gut und edel ist.... daß er nach der Wahrheit trachtet und die Lüge haßt.... daß er keine unlauteren Gedanken hegt, sich fernhält von jeder Lieblosigkeit, gerecht ist im Denken und Handeln und in Liebe dient.... Dann gestaltet sich sein Herz so, daß es zur Aufnahme des göttlichen Geistes würdig und also auch fähig ist, denn dann ist der Geist im Menschen frei und kann sich mit dem Geistigen außer sich verbinden, das in der Vollkommenheit steht und daher die Kraftausstrahlung aus Gott entgegennimmt und sie dem Geist im Menschen vermittelt. Die Aussendung des hl. Geistes ist also die Übertragung göttlicher Kraft durch geistige Licht- und Kraftträger, d.h. vollkommene Wesen, die den Zusammenschluß mit Gott gefunden haben, nun unentwegt Licht und Kraft empfangen und weiterleiten.... Jeder, der den Geist aus Gott aus tiefstem Herzen und in tiefster Demut erbittet, wird den göttlichen Geist, das Heiligste aus Gott, empfangen dürfen, sofern er sich bemüht, so zu leben, daß er würdig ist des köstlichsten Gnadengeschenkes. Er muß Gott anerkennen als das höchste und vollkommenste Wesen, Das über alle Maßen mächtig ist und weise, und also glauben.... Er muß bitten um Dessen Liebe und Gnade, also das verlangen, was Gott austeilen möchte.... und er muß selbst liebetätig sein, auf daß die Liebe Gottes sich ihm mitteilen kann.... Und Gott wird einen Menschen, der sich also formt, überschatten mit Seiner Gnade.... Er wird ihm ungemessen geben, was göttlicher Anteil ist.... Seinen Geist.... Er wird ihn in das rechte Denken leiten, seinen Geist erhellen und ihm Kraft geben, das Rechte zu erkennen. Er wird sein Wissen bereichern, und licht und klar wird sich ihm die Schöpfung enthüllen. Er wird wissen um den Sinn und Zweck dieser, er wird in das geistige Reich eindringen und die Bedeutung seines Erdenlebens nun erst erfassen. Eines aber muß der Mensch selbst tun.... er muß sein Ohr bereitwillig öffnen, so sich der Geist aus Gott ihm kundtun will.... Das Herz, sein geistiges Ohr, muß sich zum Empfang bereit erklären und also sich vorbereiten, indem es sich abschließt von aller Welt, indem es nur zu Gott gerichtet ist und bittend die göttliche Gabe erwartet.... Und auf leisen Schwingen senkt sich der Geist Gottes herab auf jene Menschen, die willig sind, das göttliche Wort zu vernehmen.... Denn so sie nach oben ihre Herzen wenden, lauschen sie auf das Wort, das von oben kommt und das im Herzen widerklingt so zart und fein, daß es nur dann vernommen werden kann, wenn die Liebe zu Gott das geistige Ohr schärft, wenn alles weltliche Verlangen verstummt und die Sehnsucht des Herzens nur der göttlichen Gabe gilt. Die Ausgießung des hl. Geistes ist also abhängig vom Menschen selbst, von seinem Willen, seinem Glauben und seiner Liebe.... Wo der Wille Gott zugewandt ist, wo der Glaube an göttliches Wirken stark ist und wo die Liebe zu Gott und zum Nächsten die Verbindung mit Gott herstellt, dort wird der Geist aus Gott die Menschen erleuchten und sie einführen in alle Wahrheit....
