Ingenuity.... self-exaltation....

Man's genius is also a certain danger for him, because he sacrifices his inner life to it. The certainty of being on a higher level can often have a pernicious effect, because a person is arrogant and believes himself to be superior to his fellow human beings in every respect in terms of knowledge and power of judgement. However, arrogance is the obstacle to recognizing the truth. Only where humility of heart adorns a person does the truth find entrance, for divine grace flows to them. On the other hand, where the opinion has formed that earthly visible abilities also contribute to recognizing the truth, there is a certain arrogance and therefore also a lack of cognitive power. Anti-religious endeavours promote the abandonment of any belief in what has become common knowledge through tradition. As a result, even that which is of divine origin.... the doctrine of a God of love, omnipotence and wisdom is often given up without hesitation.... And the human being's current attitude is objectively justified in the most convincing way, yet always based on the erroneous view that life ends with bodily death. And therefore the building now erected will lack the foundation walls and therefore not withstand an onslaught of evidence from a deeply believing person.... however, this evidence is just as stubbornly rejected so as not to expose the self-constructed building to the risk of collapse. If the highly developed human mind does not bow in humility to the unfathomable deity, it will only generate erroneous views and strengthen self-conceit with these views, resulting in a regrettable state of mind. Such a person can only be made to recognize his weakness and insignificance through suffering. His intellectual acuity and judgement must be shown to be deficient, as they are no antidote to his own powerlessness when God Himself expresses Himself through the forces of nature. Then every human being becomes small, no matter what talent, what intellectual knowledge he calls his own. In an earthly emergency, which proves his own powerlessness, only the inner relationship, the attitude towards God, is of importance, and this determines his further life on earth and also spiritually. All other qualities of the human being, which can only be assessed in purely earthly terms, will not come into play and every preconceived opinion will waver, for it will not stand up in the face of the catastrophe which surpasses all human imagination and which God sends in order to give precisely those people the opportunity to think right.... to believe in Him........

Talent – autodépassement

Le talent de l'homme est aussi un certain danger pour lui, parce qu'il lui sacrifie sa vie intérieure. La certitude de se trouver sur une marche supérieure peut avoir souvent un effet délétère, parce que l'homme est arrogant et il se croit supérieur dans le savoir et dans la force de jugement comparativement au prochain. L'arrogance est un obstacle pour reconnaître la Vérité. Seulement là où l'humilité orne le cœur de l'homme, la Vérité trouve l'entrée, parce qu'à celui-ci afflue la Grâce divine. Là où par contre l'opinion a été formée pour reconnaître la Vérité en faisant jouer un rôle significatif aux capacités terrestres, là on trouve une certaine auto-arrogance et donc aussi un manque de force cognitive. Les efforts antireligieux promeuvent un renoncement à toute foi dans ce qui est devenu un bien général des hommes à travers les transmissions traditionnelles. Donc il est accepté sans scrupules même ce qui est d'Origine divine, l'Enseignement d'un Dieu d'Amour, Omnipotent et Sage. Et l'actuelle prédisposition d'esprit de l'homme est justifiée rationnellement d’une manière très convaincante, mais toujours sur la base de l'opinion erronée que la vie serait terminée avec la mort corporelle. Et donc l'édifice ainsi construit manque de fondations et donc il ne résistera pas aux attaques basées sur des preuves de la part d'un homme profondément croyant, mais cette démonstration sera repoussée avec beaucoup d'obstination, pour ne pas exposer au danger d'écroulement ce qu’il a édifié en propre. Si l'entendement humain hautement développé ne s’abaisse pas dans l'humilité vers l'insondable Divinité, il engendrera seulement des opinions erronées et celles-ci renforceront son auto-arrogance, et cela aura pour conséquence un déplorable état de l'âme. Un tel homme peut arriver à la connaissance de sa faiblesse et de sa petitesse seulement au travers de la souffrance. Il doit lui être montré que l'acuité de son esprit et de sa capacité de jugement est imparfaite, et que ceux-ci ne sont pas des moyens contraires pour suspendre son impuissance, lorsque Dieu Lui-Même se manifeste au travers des puissances de la nature. Alors chaque homme devient petit, peu importe son talent et quel savoir d'entendement propre il appelle sien. Dans une situation de misère terrestre qui lui montre son impuissance, seul est d'importance le rapport intime, la prédisposition envers Dieu, et cela détermine sa vie terrestre ultérieure et même spirituelle. Toutes les autres qualités des hommes qui sont évaluées seulement d’un point de vue purement terrestre, n’acquièrent aucune valeur, et chaque opinion conçue auparavant oscillera, parce qu'elle ne résistera pas à la vue de la catastrophe qui dépasse toute faculté humaine imaginable et que Dieu envoie pour donner encore à ces hommes une possibilité de bien penser, pour arriver à la foi en Lui.
