The source of knowledge is inexhaustible and the power that flows from it is unimaginable. And if you men only want to draw, you will be allowed to refresh yourselves at this source. Yet you must thirst for it, for the refreshment is too delicious to flow to people without being honoured. What God Himself offers you cannot be anything other than delicious. And that is why you should desire it from the bottom of your heart, you should not give room to any other desire in you and only long for the divine gift. And you will soon only desire to be fed from heaven, for nothing equals the food and drink from above. And you must try to strengthen your longing for it by overcoming obstacles; every obstacle must drive you to increased longing. Therefore your life, you who want to receive the gifts of heaven, cannot pass by monotonously and undisturbed. The path to the source, which is to refresh you, is arduous but promises you the most marvellous reward if you do not tire and try to advance despite obstacles. You should never forget that God Himself opens up this source for you, that it is He Who wants to refresh and strengthen you on the path through earthly life; that His infinite love has the most delicious things in store for you and wants to give them to you and only requires your willingness to receive them in order to be able to give them to you without measure. Man must sacrifice in order to be able to receive. Everything in him which desires earthly fulfilment has to be fought against, he has to deny himself every bodily pleasure if he wants to be spiritually considered.... He must want to give everything in order to be able to receive everything, for only then will he completely detach himself from matter and can now also enter the spiritual kingdom unhindered, which is now the fulfilment of his longing. If the human being desires earthly things he must often be denied them for the sake of his soul, but if he desires spiritual things his desire will be fulfilled without measure. For God sets no limits, He always gives if His gift is desired.... Yet it is only possible to grasp this gift in all its value and to feel it in all its deliciousness when every earthly desire has been stifled, when the human being's mind has completely turned to the spiritual and thus his soul has united with the spirit, for now the living water flows unstoppably from the spring and is refreshment and refreshment for the thirsting soul....

La fuente del conocimiento es inagotable y la fuerza que emana de ella inimaginable. Y si vosotros los humanos solo queréis sacarla, podréis refrescaos en esta fuente. Pero debéis tener sed de ella, porque la bebida refrescante es demasiado deliciosa para fluir a la gente sin ser deseada. Lo que Dios Mismo os ofrece no puede ser más que delicioso. Y por eso debéis desearlo desde el fondo de vuestro corazón, no debéis dar espacio a ningún otro deseo y solo anhelar el don divino. Y pronto solo querréis ser alimentados del cielo, porque nada es como la comida y la bebida de arriba. Y debéis tratar de fortalecer el anhelo por ello a través de obstáculos; cada obstáculo debe conduciros a un anhelo mayor.
Es por eso que vuestra vida, que queréis recibir los dones del cielo, no puede pasarse de largo de vosotros en monotonía y tranquilidad. El camino hacia el manantial que os debe refrescar es fatigoso, pero os promete la recompensa más gloriosa si no os cansáis y tratáis de avanzar a pesar de los obstáculos. No debéis olvidar nunca que Dios Mismo os abre esta fuente, que es Él Mismo Quien quiere refrescaros y fortaleceros en vuestro camino por la vida terrenal; que Su amor infinito tiene las cosas más deliciosas preparadas para vosotros para dárselas a vosotros y que solo exige vuestra voluntad de recibir para poder consideraros inconmensurablemente.
El hombre tiene que sacrificar para poder recibir. Todo lo que le piden satisfacción terrenal debe ser combatido, debe negarse a sí mismo cualquier gozo corporal si quiere ser considerado espiritualmente.... Tiene que querer dar todo para poder recibirlo todo, porque solo entonces se libera completamente de la materia y ahora también puede penetrar sin obstáculos en el reino espiritual, que ahora es el cumplimiento de su anhelo.
Si el hombre desea algo terrenal, a menudo se le debe ser negado por el bien de su alma, pero si desea cosas espirituales, su deseo se cumplirá sin medida. Porque Dios no pone límites, Él siempre da cuando su don es deseado.... Pero poder captar este don en todo su valor y poder sentirlo en toda su delicadeza sólo es posible cuando se ha sofocado todo deseo terrenal, cuando el sentido humano se haya dirigido hacia lo espiritual y su alma se ha unido con el espíritu, porque entonces el agua viva fluye continuamente de la fuente y es refresco y alivio para el alma sedienta....
