Charity.... earthly and spiritual need....

Practicing the purest, most unselfish charity is unspeakably valuable for the soul's development. This activity on earth already brings it a high degree of maturity, and at death the soul regocnizes the blessed path it has travelled. A person should always be willing to serve and give.... He should always put the welfare of his fellow human beings before his own welfare; his innermost instinct should prompt him to do all works that serve the welfare of his fellow human beings. He should think of his body and soul, help him in earthly need and seek above all to remedy his spiritual need. Practicing love in earthly life is the noblest task of man and the true following of Jesus. For it includes everything that God requires of him.... The person who practices love will become gentle and patient, he will also be peace-loving and merciful, for if he loves his fellow human beings, all these virtues are inherent in him, for love is divine and therefore also ennobles the nature of man. If a person considers the poor state of soul of an erring person, he will take pity on him and let his active help become active.... he will give what the other person lacks and introduce him to the truth, for his power of cognition will always allow him to find the right thing to do in order to successfully overcome the misery of such an ignorant soul. Taking care of the fellow human being's soul's salvation is the greatest work of mercy, for it spares him the unspeakable suffering which awaits an imperfect soul in the beyond. And patience and love must always prevail, for this work is arduous and therefore requires the greatest love and patience if success is to be achieved. The path to the heights can only be travelled through love; love can never be eliminated, for God is love.... Seeking God without love will be without success, for eternal love can only be found through active neighbourly love.... Yet precisely love is so little respected and people's state of soul is therefore so low that these souls will inevitably suffer greatest hardship. And if the soul is to be spared this hardship in the beyond, then the human being must still be afflicted on earth so that love will unfold in him, so that one person will endeavour to make the earthly misery bearable for the other and thereby reduce the hardship of the soul. For the soul needs other means than the body for its well-being. Only the works of love benefit the soul; everything that the body denies itself in favour of the fellow human being will help it to rise. And therefore people should always endeavour to suppress their self-love and allow everything that seems desirable to them to go to their fellow human being. And thus, if a person strives for the maturity of his soul, he should also not neglect to help his fellow human being to mature his soul by willingly and joyfully giving him his knowledge of the truth.... by instructing him about God, His infinite love and mercy and about man's actual task on earth. And if he has succeeded in rescuing a soul from the darkness, he has been truly selflessly active in neighbourly love, and this earns him the most glorious reward, for the spiritual hardship among humanity is far greater than the physical tribulations. And therefore practice love so that you have a redeeming effect on earth....

L'amour pour le prochain – la misère terrestre et spirituelle

Exercer l’amour le plus pur et désintéressé pour le prochain est indiciblement précieux pour le développement de l'âme. Cette activité lui procure déjà sur la Terre un haut degré de maturité et l'âme reconnaît au décès la voie bénie qu’elle a parcourue. L'homme doit toujours être plein de bonne volonté pour servir et donner, il doit toujours mettre le bien-être du prochain avant le sien, la poussée la plus intérieure doit l’encourager à faire toutes les œuvres qui sont tournées vers le bien du prochain. Il doit penser à son corps et à son âme, lui venir en aide dans la misère terrestre et chercher surtout à éliminer sa misère spirituelle. Exercer l'amour dans la vie terrestre est la tâche la plus noble de l'homme et l'authentique succession de Jésus, parce qu'elle inclut tout ce que Dieu exige de lui. L'homme qui s'active affectueusement deviendra docile et patient, il sera aussi pacifique et miséricordieux, parce que s'il aime son prochain, il possède toutes les vertus, parce que l'amour est divin et donc anoblit aussi l'être de l'homme. Si maintenant l'homme pense à l'état besogneux de l'âme d'un homme égaré, il aura de la compassion et fera devenir mobile son aide, il donnera ce qui manque à l'autre et il l'introduira dans la Vérité, parce que sa force de connaissance lui fait trouver toujours la chose juste pour guider avec succès la misère d'une telle âme ignorante. Prendre soin du salut de l'âme du prochain est la plus grande œuvre de miséricorde, parce que cela lui épargne les indicibles souffrances qui attendent une âme imparfaite dans l'au-delà. Il doit toujours régner la patience et l'amour, parce que ce travail est fatigant et demande donc le plus grand amour et la plus grande patience s'il veut obtenir le succès. On ne peut accéder vers le Haut que seulement au travers de l'amour ; cela ne doit jamais et encore jamais être oublié, parce que Dieu est l'Amour. Chercher Dieu sans être dans l'amour sera sans succès, parce que l'Éternel Amour Se fait justement trouver seulement à travers l’amour actif pour le prochain. Mais vraiment l'amour est si peu considéré et l'état de l’âme des hommes est si bas que la plus grande misère est inévitable pour ces âmes. Si cette misère dans l'au-delà doit être épargnée à l'âme, alors l'homme doit en être frappé déjà sur la Terre, pour que l'amour se développe en lui, pour qu’il s’attèle à rendre supportable à l'autre le sort terrestre et qu’avec cela soit diminuée la misère de l'âme, parce que celle-ci a besoin pour son bien-être d'autres moyens que le corps. Seulement les œuvres de l'amour profitent à l’âme, tout ce à quoi renonce le corps en faveur du prochain l'aidera à monter en haut. Donc les hommes doivent toujours s’occuper à opprimer leur amour-propre et ils doivent faire arriver au prochain tout ce qui leur semble désirable. Si donc l'homme tend à la maturité de son âme, il ne doit alors pas manquer d’aider le prochain à la maturité de l'âme, pendant qu'il lui donne volontairement et joyeusement de son savoir sur la Vérité, tandis qu'il l’instruit sur Dieu, sur Son Amour infini et Sa Miséricorde et la vraie tâche terrestre de l'homme. S'il réussit à sauver une âme de l'obscurité, il s'est vraiment activé d’une manière désintéressée dans l'amour pour le prochain et cela lui procurera une récompense merveilleuse, parce que la misère spirituelle de l'humanité est bien plus grande que l'affliction corporelle. Donc exercez-vous dans l'amour, pour que vous agissiez d’une manière salvatrice sur la Terre.
