Outer behaviour of the human being.... inner life....

A person's external behaviour does not always reveal his spiritual state, and spiritual aspirations do not always have such an effect that they allow outsiders a clear insight into the person's inner life. And thus people often draw the wrong conclusions, the behaviour does not seem to unite with what the person is actually striving for and may therefore often lead to wrong conclusions. And yet such a concealment of the true fact is likewise permitted by the lord so that people will endeavour to make a just judgement and not exalt or judge a person according to what is outwardly apparent. Anyone who, with the intention of serving the lord God, always endeavours to bring outward actions into harmony with all inner feelings will hardly give the world any cause for deliberate deception.... The more clearly and freely a person shapes his inner life, the easier it will be to regocnize his whole life on earth on the outside, and accordingly his fellow human being will be driven to attain the same spiritual maturity, for he will now clearly regocnize the influence of good spiritual strength...., on the other hand, whoever hides himself, i.e. does not allow his fellow human beings to see his true soul image, also runs the risk of being misjudged and his earthly task will be correspondingly more difficult to solve, since the spiritual powers are not available to him who closes himself off in the same proportion as is the case with an earthly child who also outwardly fulfils every commandment of love. Therefore, people who also outwardly prove their piety are far more likely to be accepted with faith, for a person often only grasps it when the deep meaning of all actions can be regocnized. However, anyone whose actions completely contradict the commandments of neighbourly love can never be of divine origin and the effects of his actions will never result in the ennoblement of his fellow human beings, instead, the number of those who despise and condemn his actions will increase, and consequently such a person will not be or will be little suited to revive the laws of love for God and his neighbour among mankind, for if his own actions do not correspond to this highest commandment, he will also find few fellow human beings who will endeavour to imitate him, and therefore the word applies here too: "By their fruits you will regocnize them....", and you should always bear this in mind if you have doubts about the value of man....

La manière d'agir extérieure de l'homme - la vie intérieure

La manière d'agir extérieure d'un homme ne permet pas toujours de reconnaître son état spirituel, et les effets de sa tendance spirituelle ne permettre pas toujours au profane d’avoir une vue claire de sa vie intérieure. Et ainsi de la part des hommes il est souvent tiré de fausses conclusions, car leur façon d'agir n'est pas en accord avec ce à quoi en réalité l'homme aspire, et souvent cela pourra mener à des conclusions erronées. Une telle dissimulation du vrai état d’esprit est concédée par le Seigneur pour que les hommes s’efforcent d’émettre un jugement juste, et pour qu’ils n’évaluent pas ou même jugent un homme selon ce qui se reconnaît de l'extérieur. Celui qui, dans l'intention de servir le Seigneur, s’efforce toujours de paraître à l’extérieur constamment en accord avec ses sentiments intérieurs, ne donnera pas de motif au monde à se fourvoyer. Plus l’homme forme clairement et librement sa vie intérieure, plus il lui sera facile de reconnaître à l’extérieur tout son chemin sur la Terre, et par rapport à cela son prochain sera poussé à arriver à la maturité spirituelle, parce qu'il reconnaîtra maintenant justement l'influence de la bonne Force spirituelle, par contre l’homme qui se cache, c'est-à-dire qui ne fait pas voir à son prochain la vraie image de son âme, courra aussi le danger d’être méconnu, et donc sa tâche terrestre sera rendue plus difficile à résoudre, vu que les Forces spirituelles ne sont à sa disposition que dans le même rapport avec lequel il apparaît, comme cela serait le cas pour un fils terrestre qui s'acquitterait du Commandement de l'amour seulement extérieurement. Des hommes croyants qui montrent extérieurement leur religiosité seront bien mieux accueillis, parce que l'homme perçoit souvent seulement la signification profonde lorsqu’il en reconnaît les effets. Mais l’esprit de celui dont la façon d'agir contredit totalement les Commandements de l'amour pour le prochain, ne peut jamais être d'origine divine, et les effets de son action n'auront jamais pour conséquence un ennoblissement du prochain, mais le nombre de ceux qui le méprisent et jugent ses actes, deviendra toujours plus grand, et par conséquent un tel homme ne sera jamais ou peu apte à faire revivre parmi l'humanité les Lois de l'amour pour Dieu et le prochain, parce que si son action ne correspond pas à ce Commandement le plus haut, il trouvera peu de prochains qui s’efforceront de l'imiter, et donc vaut ici le Mot : « à leurs fruits vous les reconnaîtrez.... », et vous l’observerez toujours lorsque vous serez assaillis par des doutes sur la valeur de l'homme.
