Childlike relationship.... form prayer.... language of the heart....

Anyone who feels called to serve the lord and constantly asks for His grace is approached by the lord in every way, for he testifies to his will to work for God and thus also draws God's love through his will. And in prayer for strength he confesses his weakness before the lord, and his relationship with God is that of a child.... and the father in heaven asks for nothing more. Not for a single moment in his life on earth does such a child consider himself arrogant. With a humble and loving heart he is grateful to the father in heaven for every gift of grace and therefore remains a true child before God, Who protects him from every spiritual decline.... For once someone has entered into this right relationship with Him, he can no longer go astray, i.e. be spiritually arrogant towards the father in heaven. For through his humble plea for God's grace he attains wisdom, and all wisdom makes him regocnize the greatness of the father in heaven more and more and makes him ever more humble and desirous of love. And therefore all spiritual knowledge, all higher development and attainment of the state of perfection always has the human being's childlike relationship with the father as a prerequisite, and prayer in spirit and in truth is in turn the visible sign that the earthly child has entered into this relationship with the father. Yet the lord pays no attention to formal prayers, for they kill any feeling of love.... He cannot pray in spirit and in truth who uses prescribed words which do not come from the bottom of his heart, for they do not reflect his own thinking but the thinking of others.... The human being should express himself to the father in the most intimate bond with Him as his heart feels, he should truly regard the father as father and come to Him with all his little worries and concerns, and precisely this intimate contact (with the father) will trigger true devotion, and such a prayer will not be a mere form.... For God gave people the intellect for this purpose, that they should be active themselves and send their spirit upwards. If man makes use of a form, his heart does not speak to the father, but he again only fulfils a duty imposed on him, and this prayer cannot have the right value before God, since the father wants to be called upon as father and hear the voice of His child in the most childlike way.... simply, intimately and fully trusting in the love and omnipotence of the one to Whom the prayer is addressed....

Il rapporto infantile – La preghiera formale - Il linguaggio del cuore

Chi si sente chiamato a servire il Signore e chiede inarrestabilmente la Sua Grazia, il Signore Si avvicina a lui in ogni modo, perché la sua volontà testimonia di agire per Dio e di conseguenza attraverso la volontà attira anche l’Amore di Dio. E nella preghiera per la Forza confessa anche la sua debolezza davanti al Signore, ed il rapporto da lui a Dio è quello di un figlio, ed il Padre nel Cielo non pretende di più. Un tale figlio non si ritiene nemmeno per un attimo nella sua vita terrena di essere di spirito arrogante. E’grato al Padre nel Cielo di cuore umile ed amorevole per ogni apporto di Grazia e di conseguenza rimane un vero figlio dinanzi a Dio, il Quale lo protegge da ogni retrocessione spirituale. Perché chi è entrato una volta in questo giusto rapporto verso di Lui, non può più smarrirsi, cioè essere spiritualmente arrogante nei confronti del Padre nel Cielo. Perché attraverso la sua umile supplica per la Grazia di Dio arriva alla Sapienza, e tutta la Sapienza gli fa sempre più riconoscere la Grandezza del Padre nel Cielo e lo rende sempre più umile e desideroso di amare. E perciò ogni sapere spirituale, ogni sviluppo verso l’Alto ed il raggiungimento dello stato di perfezione ha sempre per premessa il rapporto infantile dell’uomo verso il Padre, e la preghiera nello Spirito e nella Verità è nuovamente il segno visibile di questo, che il figlio terreno è entrato in questo rapporto verso il Padre. Ma il Signore non bada alla preghiera formale, perché questa uccide ogni sentimento d’amore. Non può pregare nello Spirito e nella Verità colui, che si serve per questa delle parole scritte prima, che non provengono dal più profondo del cuore, perché non danno il suo vero pensare, ma il pensare d’estraneo. L’uomo nella più intima unione con il Padre si deve esprimere verso Lui com’è il sentimento del suo cuore, deve considerare il Padre veramente come Padre ed andare a Lui con tutte le sue piccole preoccupazioni e faccende, e proprio questa intima presa di contatto (con il Padre) farà scaturire la vera interiorità, ed una tale preghiera non sarà una semplice formalità, perché per questo Dio ha dato agli uomini l’intelletto, affinché loro stessi debbano essere attivi e mandino il loro spirito in Alto. Se l’uomo si serve di una formalità, non parla il suo cuore al Padre, ma adempie di nuovo soltanto un dovere caricato su di lui, e questa preghiera non può avere il giusto valore dinanzi a Dio, dato che il Padre vuole appunto Essere invocato come Padre e sentire la voce del figlio Suo nel modo infantile, semplice, intimo e pieno di fiducia verso l’Amore e l’Onnipotenza di Colui, al Quale è rivolta la preghiera.
