Creature.... work of creation.... man....
The life course of all creatures requires a complete detachment from the solid form. Only that which is free can follow the path prescribed to it as an individual being in nature, apparently vegetating in isolation in creation until it has gone through all the stages of embodiment and has travelled the path on earth. An ever-repeating separation from the respective outer form must take place in order to have completely overcome this very form. Each new form means a struggle for the being and finally the defeat of the form through separation from it. A continuous remodelling of the outer shell can only be possible in this way, and everything that lives on earth, in the air and in the water gives up the shell again and again for its own further development. Consequently, beings are capable of change as long as they are immature, i.e. unfinished, and it is extremely wisely arranged by the eternal creator that a constant change takes place in natural life.... that the emergence and passing away of every living being is ensured and that the earth's surface offers shelter to countless small creatures without interruption, which are in a constant state of transformation. It would be incomprehensible to man if the diversity and also the multiplicity were to be documented numerically.... Countless creations and variations that are inestimable to human terms bear witness to the wisdom and omnipotence of the creator. Man can be called infinitely small and tiny compared to the glory and greatness of the work of creation, and yet he himself is at the centre of this creation. He is the goal of all creation.... he has passed through all creation and contains all works of creation in the smallest reproduction within himself, and for the sake of man, i.e. his soul, the whole work of creation has come into being, for man is to become a child of God, the image of the divine father, and thus the purpose of the work of creation is an exceedingly mighty one and man, standing in the midst of the work of creation, is to a certain extent the most glorious work of God's creation, and in turn every creature serves the soul, which is imperishable, for its one-time perfection....

Schepsel – Scheppingswerk – Mens
De levensloop van alle schepselen vereist een volledige bevrijding uit de vaste vorm. Alleen wat vrij is, kan als individu in de natuur de hem voorgeschreven weg gaan, als schijnbaar geïsoleerd in de schepping zo lang vegeterend, tot het alle stadia van de belichaming doorgemaakt en de weg op aarde afgelegd heeft. Er moet een zich steeds herhalende scheiding van de uiterlijke vorm van dat ogenblik plaatsvinden om deze vorm geheel overwonnen te hebben. Elke nieuwe vorm betekent een strijd voor het wezen en tenslotte het overwinnen van de vorm door de scheiding hiervan.
Een doorlopende verandering van het uiterlijke omhulsel kan alleen zo maar mogelijk zijn en alles, wat op aarde, in de lucht en in het water leeft, geeft steeds weer het omhulsel voor de eigen verdere ontwikkeling op. De wezens zijn dus net zo lang veranderbaar, als ze onrijp, dat wil zeggen onvolmaakt, zijn en het is door de Schepper buitengewoon wijs ingericht, dat een voortdurende verandering in het natuurlijke leven plaatsvindt. Dat elk levend wezen van een ontstaan en vergaan verzekerd is en dat het aardoppervlak zonder onderbreking talloze kleine levende wezens, die zich in een voortdurende verandering bevinden, een verblijfplaats biedt.
Het zou voor de mens onbegrijpelijk zijn, als hem de verscheidenheid en ook de veelvoudigheid voor wat het aantal betreft, getoond zou worden. Talloze scheppingen en voor menselijke begrippen onschatbare variaties getuigen van de wijsheid en almacht van de Schepper.
De mens is wel eindeloos klein en nietig te noemen, afgezet tegen de heerlijkheid en grootheid van het scheppingswerk en toch staat hij in het middelpunt van deze schepping. Hij is het doel van alle schepselen. Hij is door alle schepselen gegaan en bergt alle scheppingswerken in de kleinste uitvoering in zich. En ter wille van de mens, dat wil zeggen diens ziel, is het gehele scheppingswerk ontstaan, want de mens moet een kind van God, het evenbeeld van de goddelijke Vader worden en zodoende is het doel van het scheppingswerk buitengewoon ontzagwekkend en de midden in het scheppingswerk staande mens is in zekere zin het heerlijkste scheppingswerk van God en elk schepsel dient weer de ziel, die onvergankelijk is, tot de volmaaktheid van voorheen.
