Arrogantie – Duisternis – Lichtstraal – Waarheid

Een diepe duisternis drukt op de mensheid en het teken daarvoor is het verkeerde denken en de arrogantie. Degene, die arrogant van geest is, onderzoekt niet of hij zich in de waarheid bevindt en als hij zich vergist, doet hij niets om zich daarvan vrij te maken. Wie zoekt, die vindt. Maar wie gelooft onfeilbaar te zijn, die zoekt ook niet naar de waarheid en zal deze daarom ook nooit vinden.

De waarheid te bezitten, betekent in het licht te wandelen, maar dwaling is duisternis. Daarom laat God soms een licht schijnen, opdat het de duisternis doorbreekt en de mensen de weldaad van een lichtstraal bewezen wordt. Dat wil zeggen dat de zuivere waarheid uit het rijk van Degene, Die de waarheid in Zichzelf is, aan een mens aangeboden wordt. En waar de waarheid is, daar wordt ook de dwaling als zodanig herkend. Het licht schijnt helder in de duisternis. En nu staat het de mens vrij om bij de waarheid te blijven of tot dwaling terug te keren. Dus weer in de nacht van de geest ten onder te gaan.

Maar meestal schuwen de mensen het licht: de waarheid. Ze willen niets laten vallen van dat, wat ze als geestelijk eigendom bezitten, ofschoon het in tegenspraak met de waarheid is, omdat ze arrogant van geest zijn en niets willen erkennen, dat boven hun kennis uitstijgt.

En daarom is het zo moeilijk om de mensen de waarheid te brengen. Als ze met een kinderlijk gemoed alles onderzoeken, alles overdenken en dan aannemen, wat hun onderzoek doorstaat, dan zou hun kennis veel dichter bij de waarheid zijn.

Maar zo wordt elke drager van de waarheid vijandig bejegend, vanuit het instinctieve gevoel, dat diens kennis groter is en zodoende blijft de mensheid in de duisternis. Ze laat het licht uitdoven, omdat ze dit schuwt. En ofschoon God steeds weer een lichtje ontsteekt, dat de mensheid moet verlichten, herkent ze diens zegen niet en gaat er achteloos aan voorbij of ze doet ijverig haar best om zijn heldere schijnsel te verduisteren.

De lichtstraal is een weldaad voor de mensen, die ernaar verlangen in het licht te wandelen. En ze nemen ook dankbaar deze weldaad in ontvangst, maar hier zijn er maar weinigen van. Het zijn overwegend die mensen, die het aan wereldse kennis ontbreekt, want de wereldse kennis is eveneens een licht, dat voor hen helder genoeg schijnt. Maar dit licht is niet in staat om de duisternis van de nacht te doorbreken. Maar omdat ze geloven licht te bezitten, verlangen ze er niet naar om hun geestelijke toestand te verlichten en zodoende wandelt de mensheid verder in de duisternis, die echter een onmetelijk smartelijke uitwerking heeft.

Arrogance.... darkness.... ray of light.... truth....

Deep darkness weighs on humanity and the sign of this is wrong thinking and arrogance. He who is arrogant in spirit does not examine whether he is in the truth, and if he is thus mistaken, he does nothing to free himself from it. He who seeks finds.... but he who believes himself to be infallible does not seek the truth and will therefore never find it. To possess the truth means to walk in the light, but error is darkness. This is why God occasionally lets a light shine so that it breaks through the darkness and the benefit of a ray of light is shown to people, i.e. pure truth is offered to a person from the kingdom of the one Who is truth in Himself.... And where there is truth, error is also recognized as such.... The light shines brightly in the darkness.... And now people are free to remain with the truth or to return to error, i.e. to sink back into the night of the spirit. In most cases, however, people flee the light.... the truth.... They do not want to let go of what they possess as spiritual property, even though it contradicts the truth, because they are arrogant in spirit and do not want to recognize anything that goes beyond their knowledge. And that is why it is so difficult to bring the truth to people. If they were to examine everything with a childlike mind, consider everything and then accept what stands up to their scrutiny, their knowledge would be much closer to the truth. But as it is, every bearer of truth is attacked out of the instinctive feeling that his knowledge is greater, and thus humanity remains in darkness, it extinguishes the light because it shies away from it. And even if God repeatedly lights a little light to shine for humanity, it does not recognize the blessing of it and carelessly passes it by or only eagerly endeavours to obscure its bright shine. The ray of light is a blessing for people who desire to walk in the light and they gratefully accept this blessing, but there are only a few of them, they are predominantly people who lack worldly knowledge, for worldly knowledge is likewise a light which shines brightly enough for them.... But it is not capable of breaking through the darkness of the night. But because they believe they possess a light, they do not desire to illuminate their spiritual state, and so humanity continues to walk in darkness, which has an immeasurably painful effect on it....
