L’attività d’amore significa un cambiamento dell’essere

Tutti voi dovete soltanto adoperarvi per un cammino di vita, in cui si manifesti l’amore disinteressato per il prossimo. Allora tutti voi dovrete deporre ancora moltissimi errori, avrete ancora molto da combattere contro il vostro amore dell’io, avrete da vincere voi stessi, da prestare rinuncia e portare sacrifici, per venire in aiuto ai vostri prossimi nella loro miseria. Ma con ciò giungerete in Alto passo dopo passo, perché soltanto una vita nell’amore vi assicura la risalita. Una vita nell’amore significa quindi anche il cambiamento del vostro essere, il cambiamento dell’amore dell’io nell’amore per il prossimo, la trasformazione nella costituzione di una volta che significa la via verso la perfezione. Null’altro può compiere lo stesso scopo, null’altro vi può portare alla meta, se non un cammino di vita nell’amore. Per questo avete sempre l’occasione, perché il vivere insieme ad uomini vi procura tali occasioni, in cui potete essere attivi nell’amore servente. Vedrete sempre di nuovo della miseria per portare l’aiuto ai vostri prossimi, li assisterete attraverso il buon incoraggiamento ed amorevole partecipazione e potrete risvegliare anche nei loro cuori l’amore corrisposto, e vi troverete sempre di nuovo in situazioni, in cui potete dimostrare la vostra disponibilità di sacrificio, in cui dovete retrocedere l’amore dell’io e pensare di più al prossimo, se volete eseguire la Volontà di Dio. Con ciò voi stessi procederete verso l’Alto, perché allora adempite il vostro compito terreno, cambiate il vostro essere nell’amore. Questo cambiamento è bensì difficile per certi uomini e richiede una forte volontà, ma malgrado ciò dovete fare solamente un tentativo, dovete avere solamente una volta la seria volontà, affinché la vostra vita terrena non sia stata vissuta inutilmente, e vi sarebbe sempre più facile retrocedere il vostro ‘io’ e provvedere al prossimo, perché ogni azione d’amore vi procura Forza e fortifica la vostra volontà. E presto non sarebbe nemmeno più per voi un sacrificio, ma nell’agire d’amore trovereste la propria felicità, perché con ogni azione d’amore vi avvicinereste a Dio, il Quale Lui Stesso E’ l’Amore, e perché sentite l’avvicinamento a Dio come Beatitudine. Un uomo che procede nell’amore per il prossimo, camminerà nella silenziosa contentezza e pace interiore, non conoscerà nessun desiderio terreno, perché avrà anche ciò che gli serve; l’amore che è in lui, non fa nemmeno sorgere in lui nessun pensiero non-buono, passa attraverso la vita terrena con sentimento lieto ed irradia anche una buona influenza sul suo ambiente, perché un uomo amorevole è già vicino alla sua meta, perché ha trovato l’unificazione con Dio tramite l’amore. Ma questo è manifesto solamente in minima misura ai prossimi, che devono svolgere su sé stessi questo cambiamento dell’essere anche senza costrizione della volontà. Ma il suo esempio, l’insegnamento d’amore tramutato in azione, potrà stimolare molto di più all’imitazione che soltanto delle parole. Nella vita terrena si tratta sempre soltanto di questo cambiamento dell’essere, dell’auto formazione nell’amore, nel combattere il proprio amore ed il sorgere nella preoccupazione per il prossimo. Ma non bastano delle opere che fanno mancare l’amore, perché non sono le ‘opere’, ma è l’amore, che dev’essere alla base delle opere. Ed una vita terrena veramente paradisiaca se la può aspettare solamente una razza umana, che sorge nell’amore l’uno per l’altro. Ogni opera d’amore porta in sé la sua Benedizione, ha l’effetto sia sul prossimo come anche sull’uomo stesso che dona il suo amore, mentre invece tutto il pensare e tendere, tutto l’agire e creare è senza valore, se non ha per motivazione l’amore. Ed è questo che agli uomini manca nell’ultimo tempo, cosa che può essere sempre soltanto insegnato, ma che devono provare su sé stessi, per sperimentare la Benedizione di un amore disinteressato. L’umanità è caduta in modo particolarmente forte nell’amore dell’io, e questo è pari ad un arresto e una retrocessione, ma non può mai procurare una risalita, perciò viene sempre di nuovo predicato l’amore e che dev’essere anche vissuto come buon esempio per i prossimi, perché senza amore nessun uomo può arrivare alla perfezione.

Loving activity means transformation of being....

You should all only make an effort to live a life in which unselfish neighbourly love is expressed. Then you will all still have to discard many faults, you will still have to fight against your self-love, you will have to overcome yourselves, make sacrifices and renunciations in order to help your fellow human beings in their adversity. But step by step you will reach the heights, for only a life of love will ensure your ascent. A life of love therefore also means your change of nature, the change of self-love to neighbourly love, the transformation to the former nature, it means the path to perfection. Nothing else can fulfil the same purpose, nothing else can bring you to the aim than only a life change in love. And you constantly have the opportunity to do so, for living together with people creates such opportunities for you where you can be active in serving love. (7/6/1957) Again and again you will see hardship and help your fellow human beings, you will support them through good encouragement and loving sympathy and also be able to awaken counter-love in their hearts, and again and again you will find yourselves in situations where you can prove your willingness to make sacrifices.... where you have to put self-love aside and think of your neighbour more if you want to comply with God's will. And thereby you will ascend yourselves, for then you will fulfil your earthly task, you will change your nature into love.... This change is certainly difficult for some people and requires a strong will, yet you need only make an attempt, you need only once have the serious will to ensure that your earthly life is not lived in vain.... and it would become increasingly easier for you to put your 'I' aside and take care of your neighbour, for every act of love provides you with strength and strengthens your will. And soon it would no longer be a sacrifice for you but you would find your own happiness in your activity of love, because with every deed of love you come closer to God, Who is love Himself, and because you experience your approach to God as bliss. A person who is absorbed in love for his neighbour will live in quiet contentment and inner peace, he will not know any earthly desires because he will also have what he needs; the love within him will not allow any unpleasant thoughts to arise in him either, he will go through earthly life with a cheerful mind and also exude a good influence on his surroundings, for a loving person is already close to his aim because he has found unity with God through love.... Yet this is only slightly obvious to his fellow human beings, who are also supposed to carry out this change of nature without any compulsion of will. But his example, the teaching of love put into practice, will inspire far more imitation than words alone can. In earthly life it is always only about this change of nature, about shaping oneself into love, about fighting one's own love and becoming absorbed in caring for one's fellow human beings.... But works that lack love are not enough.... For it is not the 'works' that do it, but the love that must underlie the works. And a truly paradisiacal earthly life can therefore only be expected by a human race which is absorbed in love for each other. And every work of love carries its blessing within itself, it has an effect on the neighbour as well as on the person himself who gives away his love.... whereas all thinking and striving, all activity and creation is worthless if it is not based on love. And this is what people lack in the last days, what they can only ever be taught but which they must try out on themselves in order to experience the blessing of unselfish love.... Humanity is particularly addicted to selfish love, and this is synonymous with standstill or decline but can never result in ascent.... which is why love has to be preached again and again and also exemplified to fellow human beings as a good example, for without love no human being can attain perfection....
