Free will....

Only your will determines whether you achieve perfection on this earth. Hence earthly life is a matter of your free decision of will. But this does not relate to earthly questions or opinions about earthly plans, it is purely a matter for your soul to make the right decision as to which Lord it accepts above itself. But the human being cannot be forced by either side to make this decision, consequently 'free will' cannot ever be refuted, in spite of the fact that people repeatedly attempt to do so. Only the human being's innermost thoughts matter and this is not subject to any force. For this reason the person can only be influenced by ideas, speeches and various events which are thus intended to affect his thoughts (his will). And this is attempted by the divine as well as by the God-opposing aspect. However, it is always the person's own decision as to which influence he submits himself (yields).... The human being's will is free.... Hence one day he also has to be accountable for the direction he gave his will, because he was given his life as a human being for the purpose of testing his will and sooner or later the soul will have to endure the consequences of its will's decision.

The human being is able to turn his will towards God in every situation of life.... And he can equally submit himself to His adversary.... but he will never be able to hold anyone responsible for his decision of will, neither his fellow human being nor a worldly power, neither God Himself nor His adversary, because it is entirely up to his free will as to whether the direction of his thoughts aim towards God or His adversary.... But his destiny is always determined by God such that he can easily find God, as long as he no longer offers Him inner resistance.... which is thus determined by his free will. People are inclined to refute free will because they are not always able to do what they want to do, however, it is not always a question of what they do, but what they want. For they can be prevented from carrying out actions, again due to the effects of spiritual influences.... but the volition itself cannot be prevented. Therefore the human being should be critical of himself with regard to the direction of his will's expression.... because during his life on earth he knows that he is expected to turn towards God, because God Himself constantly conveys this information to him and he does not live his earthly life entirely without knowledge.... But since he is also influenced by God's adversary it will be inevitable that he has to think about it, and therefore he is already urged to make a decision....

And thus this, too, is the battle between light and darkness, which has to be settled by the person himself and which would be inconceivable without the human being's free will, otherwise only the positive and negative powers would fight each other and one power would then emerge as the winner.... But this is not how the battle between light and darkness should be understood, because it concerns the human being's soul which, in free will, makes its own choice regarding itself. The human being's life on earth is therefore an uninterrupted chain of experiences, discoveries and impressions which stimulate his thinking and which can also enable his thoughts to move into the right direction. But since God's adversary was granted the right to fight for the soul as well, his thinking will also be subject to negative influences and then he will have to make his choice. And the intensity of his resistance to God determines the outcome, it determines the soul's fate after the body's death, which can be exceedingly joyful but also intensely painful. However, irrespective how the will decides.... God's love never abandons the soul, and if it does not achieve its goal in this earthly life it will indeed delay its salvation for an infinitely long time, but sooner or later the right decision will be made by the will, since God's love is strength which the soul will not oppose forever....

자유의지.

너희가 이 땅에서 완성에 도달할지에 대한 질문에 유일하게 너희의 의지가 결정적이다. 그러므로 이 땅의 삶은 너희의 자유로운 의지의 결정을 위한 것이다. 그러나 이 의지는 세상적인 질문이나 세상적인 계획에 입장을 정하는 것이 아니고 너희의 혼이 너희 혼 위에 누구를 주인을 결정할지에 관한 것이다.

그러나 사람들은 어느 편에 의해서도 어떠한 결정을 하게 강요받지 않는다. 사람들이 항상 자유의지가 없다고 주장할지라도 절대로 자유의지를 부인할 수 없다. 사람의 가장 깊은 생각이 유일하게 결정적이다. 이 생각은 어떤 권세 아래 놓여 있지 않다. 그러므로 사람의 생각에 영향을 미치게 항상 생각과 말과 모든 종류의 일이 일어나 이를 통해 단지 사람의 생각에 (사람의 의지에) 역사할 수 있다.

이런 시도를 하나님 편에서 마찬가지로 하나님의 대적자 편에서 행한다. 그러나 사람이 항상 스스로 어떠한 영향을 따를지 정한다. 사람의 의지는 자유하다. 그러므로 그는 언젠가 의지를 어떤 방향으로 향하게 했는지 대해 책임을 져야만 한다.

왜냐면 그는 자신의 의지의 시험을 위해 인간으로 존재하게 되었기 때문이다. 혼은 언젠가 자신의 의지의 결정으로 나타나는 결과를 짊어져야 하기 때문이다. 사람들은 모든 삶의 형편 가운데 자신의 의지를 하나님께 드릴 수 있다. 그는 마찬가지로 자신을 하나님의 대적자에게 복종하게 만들 수 있다.

그러나 그는 절대로 이웃에게는 또는 세상의 권세나 하나님 자신이나 하나님의 대적자에게 자신의 의지의 결정의 책임을 전가할 수 없을 것이다. 그의 생각이 어떠한 방향으로 향할지 그의 생각이 하나님을 향할지 또는 하나님의 대적자를 향할지는 가장 자유한 그의 의지에 관한 일이기 때문이다.

그러나 만약에 그가 단지 자신의 자유의지가 결정하는 하나님께 내적인 저항을 하지 않으면, 항상 하나님 편에서 그의 운명이 정하여 그가 쉽게 하나님을 찾을 수 있게 한다. 사람들은 이제 자유의지를 부정하려는 경향이 있다. 왜냐면 원하는 것을 항상 실행할 수 있는 것이 아니기 때문이다.

그러나 이는 항상 그들의 행하는 것에 관한 것이 아니라 그들이 원하는 것에 관한 것이다. 왜냐면 그들은 행하는 일에 영적인 세력의 역사로 인해 다시 방해를 받을 수 있지만 그러나 절대로 원하는 것 자체는 방해를 받을 수 없기 때문이다. 그러므로 사람은 자신의 의지가 어떤 방향을 향하고 있는지 스스로 비판해야 한다.

왜냐면 그가 이 땅에 사는 동안에 하나님께 향하게 요구받는 것을 알기 때문이다. 하나님 자신이 항상 또 다시 이런 정보를 그에게 알려 주기 때문이다. 그가 전적으로 아무런 지식이 없이 이 땅의 삶을 살지 않기 때문이다. 그러나 그는 하나님의 대적자로부터 영향을 받기 때문에 그거 생각해야만 하고 이로써 그가 결정하게 재촉을 받는 일을 피할 수 없을 것이다.

그러므로 이는 사람 스스로 싸워야 하는 빛과 어두움의 싸움이다. 그러나 이 싸움은 사람들의 자유의지가 없이는 생각할 수 없고 단지 긍정적인 세력이나 부정적인 세력이 이런 싸움을 하고 그들 중 한 세력이 승리자가 된다. 그러나 빛과 어두움의 싸움을 이렇게 이해할 수 없다. 왜냐면 이 싸움은 사람들의 혼을 위한 것이기 때문이다.

혼 자신이 자유의지로 스스로 자기 자신에 대해 결정하기 때문이다. 그러므로 이 땅의 삶은 사람들에게 생각하게 만들어 주는 그가 올바른 방향으로 생각할 수 있게 만들어 줄 수 있는 계속하여 체험하고 경험하고 인상을 받는 일의 연속이다. 그러나 하나님은 대적자에게 이 혼을 얻기 위해 싸울 수 있는 권리가 주어졌기 때문에 그의 생각은 부정인 영향을 받을 수 있다.

그는 이제 결정해야만 한다. 그의 하나님을 대적하는 정도의 크기에 따라 결과가 정해진다. 이 크기가 육체의 죽음 후의 혼의 운명을 결정한다. 이 운명은 넘치게 축복 될 수 있고 그러나 넘치게 고통스러울 수 있다. 그러나 그의 의지가 어떠한 결정을 하든지 간에 하나님의 사랑은 절대로 혼을 포기하지 않는다.

혼이 이 번의 이 땅의 삶을 통해 목표에 도달하지 못하면, 혼은 실제 끝 없이 긴 기간 동안 구속받는 일이 지연되게 한다. 그러나 의지는 언젠가 올바른 결정을 할 것이다. 왜냐면 하나님의 사랑은 영원히 계속하여 저항할 수 없는 능력이기 때문이다.
