Form christians.... dead souls....

What a person does dutifully, what his heart does not urge him to do but only his intellect, is of no value to the soul, even if it is to be regarded as a work of love for God or his neighbour.... because only what a person does of his own free will has an effect on the soul. And thus many people's lives are poor in God-pleasing activity, even though they outwardly appear as if they were faithful followers of the church. But then this is not the 'church of Christ' which He Himself founded on earth.... which must include living followers.... People who have a living faith which has been won through working in love.... Love alone is decisive for a right way of life, for a maturing of the soul with the result that it can enter the kingdom of light and beatitude after its death. And this should be seriously considered by all people who spend their time and effort on things which are of little benefit to the soul.... All should ask themselves to what extent they kindle love within themselves, what they do out of their heart's urge to love.... All should first give account to themselves of how they fulfil the commandment of love for God and neighbour.... but do not believe that they love God by following humanly-issued commandments.... God demands more of you.... He does not demand a 'mechanical' exercise but something living in order to be able to make you blissfully happy in the spiritual kingdom one day. For such can only be received by a loving heart which has shaped itself into love on earth.... They are all dead souls which have not yet kindled love within themselves, yet little value is placed on this very fact.... yet what is of no value for the soul is eagerly carried out. Love should not only be preached.... it must be practiced by every human being, and love for God and neighbour must underlie all speech and action.... God will never be satisfied with forms and customs which He Himself has not demanded from people. He will only ever look at the heart to see to what extent it is filled with love, for He only values the latter and only the latter is pleasing before God. For only a love-filled heart can unite with Him and receive strength and light and grace, which, however, are absolutely necessary in order to ascend, in order to mature and still attain a degree of perfection in earthly life, which is your actual aim on earth.... Only love guarantees this perfection, but dutiful actions or works which lack love will never have the same success.... And every sincerely striving person will also recognize within himself that formal customs cannot satisfy God and will endeavour to live in a way which is pleasing to Him....

형식적인 기독교인. 죽은 혼.

심장이 아니라 단지 이성이 그에게 충고하는 일을 사람이 성실하게 수행하는 일을 혼에게 가치가 없다. 비록 이 일을 하나님을 사랑하는 일이나 또는 이웃을 사랑하는 일로 여겨질지라도 이 일은 혼에게 가치가 없다. 왜냐면 사람이 전적인 자유의지로 수행하는 일이 혼에게 단지 영향을 미치기 때문이다. 그러므로 많은 사람의 삶이 외적으로 충실한 교회 추종자인 것처럼 보일지라도 많은 사람들의 삶이 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 일에 부족함이 있는 삶이고 그런 교회는 주님 자신이 이 땅에 세운 그리스도의 교회가 아니다. 그리스도의 교회는 생명력이 있는 추종자를 구성돼야만 한다. 이런 사람들은 사랑을 행함으로 생명력이 있는 믿음을 가진 사람들이다.

올바른 삶의 방식을 위해 단지 사랑이 결정적이고 혼이 성공적으로 성숙하게 되어 사후에 빛과 행복의 나라에 들어갈 수 있게 되는 일에 결정적이다. 너희 모든 사람들은 그들이 드리는 시간과 추구하는 일이 혼에게 거의 쓸모없는 지를 심각하게 고려해야 하고 시간과 노력을 소비하는 모든 사람은 자신의 내면에서 얼마나 사랑을 불태우는 지 심장의 사랑 충동으로 무엇을 하는 지 자신에게 물어봐야 한다. 모든 사람은 먼저 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하라는 계명을 어떻게 이행했는지에 대한 책임을 져야 한다. 그러나 모든 사람은 인간이 내린 계명을 지킴으로써 하나님을 사랑한다고 믿어서는 안 된다.

하나님은 너희에게 더 많은 것을 요구하고 기계적으로 행하는 일을 요구하는 것이 아니라 너희가 언젠가 영의 나라에서 축복 가운데 행복할 수 있도록 어떤 생명력이 있는 것을 요구한다. 왜냐면 그런 축복을 단지 사랑으로 불타오르는 심장이 받을 수 있기 때문이다. 그런 심장은 이 땅에서 사랑으로 형성 된 심장이다. 그러나 아직 자신 안에 사랑이 불타오르게 하지 않은 모든 혼들은 죽은 혼들이다. 그들은 자신 안에 사랑이 불타오르게 하는 일에 적은 가치를 부여하지만 그러나 혼에 무가치한 일은 아주 열심히 수행했던 혼들이다. 사랑은 단지 전파되어서는 안 되고 모든 사람이 사랑을 실천해야만 하고 모든 말과 행동이 하나님과 이웃을 향한 사랑에 기초를 둬야만 한다.

하나님은 자신이 사람들에게 요구하지 않은 형식과 관습에 절 대로 만족하지 않을 것이다. 그는 항상 단지 심장이 사랑으로 얼마나 가득한 지를 바라볼 것이다. 왜냐면 그는 단지 심장이 사랑으로 충만한 지를 평가하고 심장이 사랑으로 충만한 것을 기뻐하기 때문이다. 왜냐면 단지 사랑으로 가득 찬 심장이 그와 연결을 이루고 힘과 빛과 은혜를 받을 수 있기 때문이다. 그러나 성장하고 성숙하는 일과 이 땅의 삶의 실제 목표인 온전한 정도에 도달하기 위해 힘과 빛과 은혜는 절대적으로 필요하다. 단지 사랑이 이런 온전하게 되는 일을 보장한다. 그러나 사랑이 없는 의무적인 행동이나 또는 역사는 절 대로 온전함에 도달하게 하지 못한다. 진지하게 추구하는 모든 사람은 또한 자신 안에서 하나님이 형식적인 관습으로 하나님을 만족시킬 수 없다는 것을 깨달을 것이고 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 방식으로 살기 위해 노력할 것이다.
