Idleness of life.... church christians....

People must be directly influenced, for they pay little attention to the fate of their fellow human beings and remain unaffected by it, thus they do not draw any conclusions which could favourably influence their way of life. People's indifference is far worse than a blatant rejection, for such arises from ignorance and can still result in a change of attitude, whereas an indifferent person is nowhere to be touched and therefore will be lost without salvation if he cannot be roused from his indifference.... which always requires a distress of his own life. People can find themselves in a spiritual void despite church faith and seemingly religious life because their soul is not involved in any way, because only purely mechanical demands are fulfilled and a spiritual attitude towards it is completely missing. These people will outwardly be counted among the 'righteous', among the 'faithful'.... But they are always only church christians for whom their christianity is a worldly affair like everything else.... To teach them that they lack the spirit would be unsuccessful, for they have too high an opinion of themselves and do not accept such teachings, always relying on the fulfilment of what is demanded of them ecclesiastically.... And yet, their life is an idle one if it does not reveal a change in love.... And these people often have to be touched hard so that they wake up from their soul's sleep, so that they reflect and ask themselves what might be the reason for such strokes of fate.... They must be affected themselves, only then will it be possible for them to seriously consider spiritual questions, and then the strokes of fate will have been a blessing. As soon as a person is willing to love he will also be affected by his fellow human being's fate, and then he can draw spiritual benefit from everything he experiences around him.... But people's hearts are hardened, love has grown cold.... No matter how great the misfortune.... it does not trigger a warm feeling in the fellow human being, and even less does it determine him to reflect on the cause or to change his way of life. It is a danger in which people float because of their indifference, for all remedies remain without success as long as they do not let themselves be touched by it. And therefore ever more severe blows have to come upon people, and the adversity will not abate because it alone can be heard as a wake-up call and bring about a change of heart.... For everything will still be tried which could serve the salvation of those souls....

Vida Ociosa.... Igreja Cristãos....

As pessoas devem ser directamente influenciadas, pois prestam pouca atenção ao destino dos seus semelhantes e não são afectadas por ele, pelo que não tiram quaisquer conclusões que possam influenciar favoravelmente o seu modo de vida. A indiferença das pessoas é muito pior do que uma rejeição gritante, pois esta surge da ignorância e pode ainda resultar numa mudança de atitude, ao passo que uma pessoa indiferente não está em lugar nenhum a ser tocada e, por conseguinte, estará perdida sem salvação se não puder ser despertada da sua indiferença...., que exige sempre uma angústia da sua própria vida. As pessoas podem encontrar-se num vazio espiritual apesar da fé da igreja e da vida aparentemente religiosa, porque a sua alma não está envolvida de forma alguma, porque apenas exigências puramente mecânicas são satisfeitas e falta completamente uma atitude espiritual em relação a ela. Estas pessoas serão contadas exteriormente entre os "justos", entre os "fiéis"..... Mas são sempre apenas cristãos da igreja para quem o seu cristianismo é um assunto mundano como tudo o resto..... Ensinar-lhes que lhes falta o espírito não teria êxito, pois eles têm uma opinião demasiado elevada de si próprios e não aceitam tais ensinamentos, confiando sempre no cumprimento do que lhes é exigido eclesiasticamente.... E no entanto, a sua vida é uma vida ociosa se não revelar uma mudança no amor.... E estas pessoas têm frequentemente de ser tocadas com força para que acordem do sono da sua alma, para que reflictam e se perguntem qual poderá ser a razão de tais traços do destino.... Eles próprios devem ser afectados, só então lhes será possível considerar seriamente as questões espirituais, e então os traços do destino terão sido uma bênção. Assim que uma pessoa estiver disposta a amar, também será afectada pelo destino do seu semelhante, e então poderá beneficiar espiritualmente de tudo o que experimenta à sua volta.... Mas o coração das pessoas está endurecido, o amor tem crescido frio.... Não importa quão grande seja o infortúnio.... não desencadeia uma sensação de calor no semelhante, e muito menos o determina a reflectir sobre a causa ou a mudar o seu modo de vida. É um perigo em que as pessoas flutuam por causa da sua indiferença, pois todos os remédios permanecem sem sucesso enquanto não se deixarem tocar por ele. E, portanto, golpes cada vez mais severos têm de chegar às pessoas, e a adversidade não diminuirá porque só ela pode ser ouvida como uma chamada de despertar e provocar uma mudança de opinião.... Pois tudo o que possa servir para a salvação dessas almas...._>Ámen
