Mentally blind.... rays of light....

Everything remains hidden from the spiritually blind, he lacks all realization, he is unable to take a look into the kingdom of the spirit, for he has closed his eyes and no ray of light is able to penetrate them; he walks in constant darkness.... and no matter how vividly he may move in the earthly world, no matter how earthly success he may have.... this does not change the blind state his soul is in, a state devoid of all light and therefore also devoid of all strength to leave the darkness. But the spiritually blind person himself keeps his eyes closed to the light. Therefore he cannot be pitied as a victim of his fate, as a being inadequately considered by God, who is deprived of every realization, every ray of light. He, too, is illuminated by the divine light of love and only needed to open himself, he only needed to expose himself to this radiation of light without resistance, then he would also open his eyes in order to see from where he receives the benefit of the rays of light.... i.e., the divine radiation.... the word of God.... will also be supplied to him, and if he only receives it.... and if he merely listened to it it would also have a beneficial effect on him, and the desire would awaken in him to hear ever more, his spirit's eye would open and the light would now shine in and illuminate everything that had been dark in him until now. But the spiritually blind person still resists God.... And therefore it is his own fault that he is unable to see, that he always walks in the night, that the light of the morning cannot make him happy. The spiritually blind person has a strong will which is directed against everything that signifies light.... And he rarely gives up this will. For mostly these blind in spirit feel exceedingly comfortable in the earthly world and are devoted to it with all their senses, thus their will is fully turned towards God's adversary and he keeps them bound.... he deceives them with so much light that they don't feel their spiritual blindness, that they only chase after these blinding lights more and more and don't realize what illusion and deception they have fallen prey to.... But their spiritual darkness also prevents them from recognizing what is offered to them as deceptive light by God's adversary. And this also strengthens their resistance against every radiation of light which touches them from above.... They can become seeing, they can receive much divine light as soon as they open themselves, as soon as they are willing to give up their resistance.... as soon as they desire to become seeing, which is still possible as long as they live on earth. For even the spiritually blind can grow weary of the world with its pleasures, if he has enjoyed them abundantly.... He too can recognize the worthlessness and impermanence of earthly goods and no longer be satisfied with them.... The desire for knowledge about hidden things can also awaken in him, and then it is still possible that his eyes will be opened, that he will turn to where he believes to discover rays of light, and then he can also come to realization, which will-o'-the-wisps he has been chasing until now, and then it is still not too late to turn to the one Whom he has recognized as the eternal light and to appeal to Him for His grace that He may also open his eyes and grant him the light which will henceforth illuminate his path.... And his request will be heard....

Geistig Blinde.... Lichtstrahlen....

Dem geistig Blinden bleibt alles verborgen, ihm fehlt jegliche Erkenntnis, er ist nicht fähig, einen Blick zu werfen in das Reich des Geistes, denn er hat seine Augen geschlossen, und kein Lichtstrahl vermag in dieselben einzudringen; er wandelt in ständiger Dunkelheit.... und mag er sich noch so lebhaft in der irdischen Welt bewegen, mag er auch irdische Erfolge aufzuweisen haben.... es ändert dies nichts an seinem blinden Zustand, in dem sich seine Seele befindet, in dem Zustand bar jeden Lichtes und darum auch bar jeder Kraft, das Dunkel zu verlassen. Der Geistig-Blinde hält aber selbst seine Augen geschlossen für das Licht. Er kann darum nicht bedauert werden als ein Opfer seines Schicksals, als ein von Gott mangelhaft bedachtes Wesen, dem jede Erkenntnis, jeder Lichtstrahl vorenthalten wird. Auch er wird angestrahlt vom göttlichen Liebelicht und brauchte sich nur zu öffnen, er brauchte sich nur ohne Widerstand dieser Lichtstrahlung aussetzen, dann würde er auch seine Augen öffnen, um zu sehen, von wo er die Wohltat der Lichtstrahlen empfängt.... d.h., auch ihm wird die göttliche Ausstrahlung.... das Wort Gottes.... zugeführt, und so er es nur anhören würde, hätte es auch eine wohltätige Wirkung auf ihn, und das Verlangen würde in ihm erwachen, stets mehr zu hören, seines Geistes Auge würde geöffnet und das Licht nun einstrahlen und alles erhellen, was in ihm dunkel war bisher. Doch der geistig Blinde steht noch im Widerstand gegen Gott.... Und darum ist es seine eigene Schuld, daß er nicht zu sehen vermag, daß er stets in der Nacht wandelt, daß ihn das Licht des Morgens nicht beglücken kann. Der geistig Blinde hat einen starken Willen, der gegen alles gerichtet ist, was Licht bedeutet.... Und er gibt diesen Willen nur selten auf. Denn zumeist fühlen sich diese Blinden im Geist überaus wohl in der irdischen Welt und sind ihr mit allen Sinnen ergeben, also ist ihr Wille voll und ganz dem Gegner Gottes zugewandt, und dieser hält sie gefesselt.... er täuscht ihnen so viel Licht vor, daß sie ihre geistige Blindheit nicht fühlen, daß sie nur stets mehr diesen Blendlichtern nachjagen und nicht erkennen, welchem Schein und Trug sie verfallen sind.... Doch ihre geistige Dunkelheit hindert sie auch am Erkennen dessen, was ihnen als Truglicht vom Gegner Gottes geboten wird. Und dieser bestärkt auch ihren Widerstand gegen jede Lichtstrahlung, die sie von oben berührt.... Sie können sehend werden, sie können viel göttliches Licht empfangen, sowie sie sich nur öffnen, sowie sie bereit sind, ihren Widerstand aufzugeben.... sowie sie begehren, sehend zu werden, was immer noch möglich ist, solange sie auf Erden leben. Denn auch der geistig Blinde kann der Welt mit ihren Freuden überdrüssig werden, so er sie reichlich genossen hat.... Auch er kann die Wertlosigkeit und Unbeständigkeit irdischer Güter erkennen und sich nicht mehr damit zufriedengeben.... Auch in ihm kann das Verlangen erwachen nach Wissen um Verborgenes, und dann ist es immer noch möglich, daß ihm die Augen geöffnet werden, daß er sich dorthin wendet, wo er Lichtstrahlen zu entdecken glaubt, und dann kann er auch zur Erkenntnis kommen, welchen Irrlichtern er bis jetzt nachgejagt ist, und dann ist es immer noch nicht zu spät, sich an den Einen zu wenden, Den er erkannt hat als das ewige Licht, und Ihn um Seine Gnade zu bitten, daß Er auch ihm die Augen öffne und das Licht schenken möge, das ihm den Weg fürderhin erleuchte.... Und seine Bitte wird Erhörung finden....
