The souls' state of darkness in the beyond and help by beings of light....

And your share will be light or darkness. You will stay in the light if you had allowed the light to enter you, if you had let it flow into your hearts and thereby dispelled the darkness you lived in until you were touched by the light from the heavens. However, if you avoid the light darkness will be your fate.... And spiritual darkness means wandering about lonely, it means being all alone in darkest surroundings without goal and without hope for a change in your situation. Hence a soul staying in darkness in the beyond suffers indescribably, since previously it had physical eyesight enabling it to recognise everything surrounding it, but now it will require spiritual vision in order to behold spiritual things, however, the soul will be spiritually completely blind. And thus it will stay in a dismally barren region, and if it encounters other souls it will be unable to recognise them and thus will have to depend on other soul's help for guidance, for providing it with an occasional glimmer of light to recognise its environment.

The enlightened souls, however, will take care of such poor souls, yet their help is limited according to God's will, for they are not allowed to give light to them against their will. As long as the soul does not miss the light it has to languish in darkness, no matter how long it will last. It has to long for light, its condition has to become intolerable, and it must demand a change of its situation, only then will the bearers of light approach and provide it with a small glimmer of their light.... they will offer a few explanations and, depending on its willingness to listen and to accept them, the light will then take effect on the soul.

Its insufferable situation can awaken or enhance the soul's willingness to help as soon as it encounters other suffering souls. It will clearly recognise the suffering even though it is unable to recognise much, and as soon as the suffering of these souls stimulates its will to help it will become brighter within and the opportunity to help a suffering soul will present itself. Then it will feel an influx of strength, and it will use this strength to render assistance and in turn will be assisted itself by the beings of light, which will never leave such a soul again. It will receive because it gives, because love will have awakened within and every activity of love on earth as well as in the beyond results in receiving strength; strength and love, however, are always together.... its will becomes stronger and its realisation will grow.... The darkness is penetrated, and for the time being it will give way to a twilight which is followed by a golden dawn.... when the sun of the spirit has risen, that is, when the soul receives knowledge on every subject from the beings of light, which delights the soul and will impel it into constant actions of love, that is, into giving of what it owns itself, to souls which still languish in utter darkness.

Every soul is able to escape the darkness; every soul is able to deliver itself, yet the reason for imparting light must always be a loving thought, for without it the beings of light are not allowed to distribute gifts, because free will has to strive for light or eternal night will continue to engulf the soul and the consequence can be a descent into the deepest abyss. Light, however, belongs to beatitude, and once the soul has developed spiritual vision it will recognise its task and behold splendours and never again descend into darkness....

De staat van duisternis van de zielen in het hiernamaals en hulp van de lichtwezens

En licht of duisternis zal uw deel zijn. U zult in het licht verblijven als u het licht toegang hebt verleend tot u, als u het liet binnenstralen in uw hart en daardoor de duisternis hebt verjaagd waarin u vertoefde, tot het licht uit de hemelen u aanraakte. Maar duisternis is uw lot als u het licht ontvlucht. En de geestelijke duisternis betekent eenzaam rondgaan, het betekent verlaten zijn in de meest donkere omgeving, zonder doel en zonder hoop op verandering van uw toestand. De ziel die in het hiernamaals in de duisternis vertoeft, lijdt daarom onuitsprekelijk, omdat ze tevoren het fysieke licht van haar ogen bezat en alles om zich heen kon herkennen, nu echter het geestelijke oog nodig is om geestelijke dingen te kunnen waarnemen, maar de ziel is in de geest helemaal blind. En zo zal ze zich in een troosteloze woeste omgeving ophouden en als andere zielen haar ontmoeten, zal ze niet in staat zijn dezen te herkennen en daarom op de hulp van andere zielen zijn aangewezen, dat dezen haar leiden, dat ze haar af en toe een glimpje licht doen toekomen opdat ze haar omgeving kan herkennen.

Maar de zielen die zich in het licht bevinden, trekken zich het lot van deze arme zielen aan, maar hun hulp is beperkt volgens Gods wil, want ze mogen hun geen licht schenken tegen hun wil in. Zolang de ziel het licht niet ontbeert, moet ze smachten in duisternis, al duurt dit nog zo lange tijd. Ze moet het verlangen naar licht hebben, haar toestand moet voor haar ondraaglijk worden en ze moet naar verandering van haar toestand verlangen, pas dan komen de lichtdragers dichter bij haar en geven een klein glimpje van hun licht aan haar af. Ze geven hun een beetje opheldering en al naar gelang hun bereidheid die aan te horen en aan te nemen, wordt het licht nu werkzaam bij hen.

De ondraaglijkheid van haar toestand kan in haar de bereidheid om te helpen wekken of versterken, zodra ze met andere lijdende zielen samenkomt. Hun lijden zal haar duidelijk zijn, ofschoon ze niet in staat is veel te zien. En zodra het leed van deze zielen haar wil om te helpen op gang brengt, wordt het lichter in haar en vindt ze gelegenheid die ziel te helpen. Nu bemerkt ze een toevloed van kracht en ze gebruikt deze kracht om hulp te verlenen en wordt nu zelf bijgestaan van de kant van de lichtwezens die zo'n ziel nu nooit meer verlaten. Ze ontvangt omdat ze geeft, omdat de liefde in haar is ontwaakt en elk werkzaam zijn in liefde, zowel op aarde als in het hiernamaals, ontvangst van kracht tot gevolg heeft, maar kracht en licht zijn steeds samen, haar wil wordt gesterkt en ze rijpt aan inzicht. De duisternis is doorbroken en heeft vooreerst plaats gemaakt voor een schemerlicht, waarop een gouden morgen volgt als de zon van de geest is opgegaan, dat wil zeggen als haar op elk gebied kennis wordt gegeven van de kant van de lichtwezens, die de ziel gelukkig maakt en haar tot voortdurende werkzaamheid in liefde aanspoort, dat wil zeggen om uit te delen van datgene wat ze zelf bezit aan die zielen die nog in diepste duisternis smachten.

Iedere ziel kan de duisternis ontvluchten, iedere ziel kan zich bevrijden, maar altijd moet een liefdevolle gedachte aanleiding geven tot het overbrengen van licht, want zonder deze mogen de lichtwezens geen gaven uitdelen, omdat de vrije wil naar het licht moet streven, daar anders de ziel omgeven blijft door een eeuwige nacht en een wegzinken in de diepste diepte der duisternis het gevolg kan zijn. Maar licht behoort bij de gelukzaligheid en als een ziel het geestelijke gezichtsvermogen ontsloten is, zal ze haar taak herkennen en heerlijkheden aanschouwen en nooit meer afglijden in de duisternis.
