Battle between light and darkness....

Good and bad forces fight for the human being's soul and both are given great power by God, for both the beings of light are permeated by strength as well as the beings which are turned away from God, because the latter draw their strength from God's adversary to whom it was unlimitedly at his disposal as an originally created spiritual being and it is not diminished by God either. But the beings of light can win the victory if the human being abandons himself to them by turning his will towards God and thus not opposing the light beings' activity. The human being himself must establish the predominance through his will.... As soon as the will leans towards evil it increases its strength, and his soul is subject to the activity of God's adversary. But the human being is never defencelessly at the mercy of the evil forces but the beings of light are constantly ready to wrestle for his soul, the beings of light constantly oppose them with their strength and constantly try to direct the human being's will towards God in order to gain the upper hand and thereby defeat the evil forces. But the fact that the latter were granted the right to oppress the souls is necessary for the redemption of the fallen and therefore bound spiritual because otherwise it could not use free will, in which alone redemption can take place. And now both forces try to win the human being's will for themselves, both try to exert their influence on the soul but in different directions.... The beings of light are permeated by God's will, and their endeavour is to transfer divine will to people, i.e., to direct the human being's thinking such that it fully adapts to divine order, that the human will fully subordinates itself to divine will.... In the same way the bad forces strive towards their aim.... they direct the human being's thoughts towards earthly things, towards the increase of earthly goods, and thereby they seek to unleash earthly instincts in the human being which are contrary to God, i.e. which lack all love for God and neighbour, whereas they are only born in self-love, which always drag the human being down into the realm of God's adversary....

Kampf zwischen Licht und Finsternis....

Es kämpfen gute und schlechte Kräfte um die Seele des Menschen und beiden ist große Macht gegeben von Gott, denn sowohl die Lichtwesen sind kraftdurchdrungen wie auch die Wesen, die Gott abgewandt sind, weil letztere die Kraft beziehen vom Gegner Gottes, dem sie als urgeschaffenem Geistwesen unbegrenzt zur Verfügung stand und sie ihm von Gott aus auch nicht geschmälert wird. Doch es können die Lichtwesen den Sieg davontragen, wenn der Mensch selbst sich ihnen überläßt, indem sein Wille Gott zugewandt ist und er dadurch dem Wirken der Lichtwesen keinen Widerstand entgegensetzt. Der Mensch selbst muß das Übergewicht herstellen durch seinen Willen.... Sowie nun der Wille sich dem Bösen zuneigt, vermehrt er dessen Kraft, und seine Seele unterliegt dem Wirken des Gegners von Gott. Es ist aber der Mensch niemals schutzlos den bösen Gewalten ausgeliefert, sondern ständig sind die Lichtwesen bereit, um seine Seele zu ringen, ständig setzen die Lichtwesen ihre Kraft dagegen, und ständig suchen sie, den Willen des Menschen Gott zuzulenken, um das Übergewicht herzustellen und dadurch die bösen Gewalten zu besiegen. Daß aber letzteren das Recht eingeräumt wurde, die Seelen zu bedrängen, ist zur Erlösung des gefallenen und also gebundenen Geistigen notwendig, weil es sonst den freien Willen nicht gebrauchen könnte, in welchem die Erlösung allein stattfinden kann. Und es suchen nun beide Kräfte, den Willen des Menschen für sich zu gewinnen, beide suchen ihren Einfluß geltend zu machen auf die Seele, doch in verschiedener Richtung.... Die Lichtwesen sind vom Willen Gottes durchdrungen, und ihr Bestreben ist es, den göttlichen Willen auf die Menschen zu übertragen, d.h., das Denken des Menschen so zu lenken, daß es voll und ganz der göttlichen Ordnung sich einfügt, daß sich der menschliche Wille voll und ganz dem göttlichen Willen unterstellt.... In gleicher Weise streben die schlechten Kräfte ihr Ziel an.... sie lenken das Denken des Menschen auf irdische Dinge, auf Vermehrung irdischer Güter, und sie suchen dadurch irdische Triebe im Menschen zu entfesseln, die Gott-widrig sind, d.h. jeglicher Liebe entbehren zu Gott und zum Nächsten, dagegen nur in der Eigenliebe geboren werden, die immer den Menschen herabziehen in das Reich des Gegners von Gott....
