Earthly fulfilment of duty.... spiritual work....

Nothing should stop you from striving for perfection, and therefore you should not want to achieve earthly aims but only think of your souls and your earthly task, which alone is important since it shall earn you life in eternity. Therefore, if the world approaches you with its demands, then ask God for the strength to enable you to fulfil what is earthly demanded of you, yet know that God likewise makes demands of you and that their fulfilment is far more important, because earthly life was only given to you for the purpose that you strive upwards, that you become perfect and that you must not neglect this task if earthly life is to bring you success for your soul. The human being should never shirk his duties which earthly life imposes on him, for he should use his vitality in helpful neighbourly love; he should be constantly active, for only constant activity contributes towards the redemption of that which is still bound and wants to serve. But if he puts the work for his soul before all earthly work he will not do wrong, on the contrary, he will contribute to the redemption of the bound to a greater extent, and spiritual activity outweighs earthly activity many times over. Anyone who always strives to walk the right path on earth, who only wants to think and act in accordance with God's will, will always place his strength at the service of his neighbour, and what appears to be most important to him he will do first.... If spiritual work seems to him to be unpostponable because he recognizes the hardship on earth, he should give in to his heart's urge and be spiritually active. For the will to work for the kingdom of God also gives him an intensified feeling for what is necessary, and the soul's work should always be placed before all other work, after all, it is the actual purpose of earthly life. But as long as the human being walks along without realization, earthly fulfilment of duty is advisable and in accordance with divine order. But once the meaning and purpose of earthly life has become clear to him, earthly life recedes and spiritual life has priority, because this is imperishable and understandably work for eternity is more important than activity that only brings earthly success. The more mature the human being is, the easier it is for him to separate himself from earth and its goods, the less he demands worldly pleasures, and thus he must also then put worldly demands on hold, i.e. only comply with them as far as is absolutely necessary. Nevertheless, he should practice the activity of love, he should bring love to its highest development and thus let every earthly activity become an activity of love at the same time, so that he now fulfils both.... that he fulfils his duty on earth and yet strives for perfection. And he should use his strength as a labourer for the kingdom of God.... he should set himself an aim by trying to lead erring souls to God, he should help them to realize and thus be spiritually active.... then he will have double success.... he will help himself and his fellow human beings to maturity of soul and use his vitality for redemptive activity....

Cumplimiento del deber terrenal.... Trabajo intelectual....

Nada os debe impedir esforzaros por alcanzar la perfección, y por eso tampoco debéis querer alcanzar ninguna meta terrenal, sino que sólo tenéis que pensar en vuestras almas y en vuestra tarea terrenal, que es lo único importante porque se supone que debe traeros la vida en la eternidad. Así que cuando el mundo os acerque a vosotros con sus exigencias, entonces pedidle a Dios la fuerza para que podáis cumplir con lo que se requiere de vosotros en la Tierra, pero debéis saber que Dios también os impone exigencias y que su cumplimiento es mucho más importante, porque la vida en la Tierra solo os fue dada con el propósito que os esforcéis hacia arriba, que os volváis perfectos y que no debéis descuidar esta tarea si la vida terrenal ha de traer éxito a vuestra alma.

El ser humano nunca debe eludir los deberes que le impone la vida en la Tierra, porque debe utilizar su fuerza vital al servicio del amor al prójimo; Debe estar constantemente activo, porque sólo la actividad constante contribuye a la redención de aquello que todavía está atada y quiere servir. Pero si antepone el trabajo de su alma a cualquier trabajo terrenal, no cometerá ninguna injusticia, sino que contribuirá en mayor medida a la redención del atado, y la actividad espiritual supera con creces la actividad terrenal. Quien se esfuerza por recorrer el camino correcto en la Tierra, quien quiere pensar y actuar según la voluntad de Dios, pondrá siempre sus fuerzas al servicio del prójimo, y lo que le parezca más importante, lo hará primero....

Si ahora el trabajo espiritual le parece que no se puede posponer porque reconoce la necesidad en la Tierra, debe ceder a los impulsos de su corazón y volverse espiritualmente activo. Porque la voluntad de trabajar por el reino de Dios también le da un mayor sentido de lo que es necesario, y el trabajo del alma siempre debe tener prioridad sobre cualquier otro trabajo, ya que es el verdadero propósito de la vida en la Tierra. Pero mientras el humano ande sin conocimiento, el cumplimiento de los deberes terrenales es aconsejable y conforme al orden divino. Pero una vez que el significado y el propósito de la vida terrenal le han quedados claros, entonces la vida terrenal pasa a un segundo plano y la vida espiritual tiene el privilegio porque es imperecedera y, comprensiblemente, el trabajo es más importante para la eternidad que la actividad que sólo trae éxito terrenal.

Cuanto más maduro es el ser humano, más fácil le resulta separarse de la Tierra y de sus bienes, menos exige de los placeres mundanos, y aun así tiene que dejar de lado las exigencias mundanas, es decir, sólo satisfacerlas en la medida en que sea absolutamente necesario. Sin embargo, debe practicar la actividad del amor, debe llevar el amor a su máximo desarrollo y por lo tanto permitir que cada actividad terrenal se convierta al mismo tiempo en una actividad de amor, de modo que ahora cumpla ambas.... que cumpla con su deber en la Tierra y todavía lucha por la perfección. Y debe usar su fuerza como trabajador por el reino de Dios.... debe fijarse un objetivo tratando de traer a Dios las almas descarriadas, debe ayudarlas al conocimiento y por lo tanto ser espiritualmente activo.... entonces duplica su éxito.... se ayudará a sí mismo y a sus semejantes a alcanzar la madurez espiritual y utilizará su fuerza vital para la actividad redentora....
