Spiritualization of the substances of the body....

The body should help the soul to spiritual maturity by giving itself up, by suppressing every desire and only allowing the soul's desire to come into its own, which, if the body releases it, completely surrenders to the spirit within itself, thus giving in to its desire and its urge. The more the body joins the soul's desire the more the soul's material external form spiritualizes itself, and then it no longer needs to cover such a long earthly path, whereas a completely materially attuned body still needs a long time after its physical death before it has overcome its desire. The spiritual substances of the outer forms of those souls are, as it were, refined, they are no longer so grossly material, although they are still earthly matter. The soul drags him over into the realm of the spirit to which it has granted all dominion over itself, and the body follows it willingly, it renounces everything that otherwise seemed desirable to it, it is completely without resistance and therefore also no longer turned towards the world. And a person will mature faster if body and soul are subject to the spirit within. The latter now rules them in love and wisdom.... what he demands the soul and the body carries out, and this contributes to spiritual progress. For the soul will be able to hear the voice of the spirit because the body is ready at the same time by keeping every disturbance away from the soul, by putting itself into the state that the voice of the spirit expresses itself. For the body must completely detach itself from the world, it must close its bodily ear and leave the listening to the soul so that it will then convey it to it. The less the soul is hindered by the body, the more audibly the voice of the spirit sounds to it. But the body also has great success. It overcomes matter much more easily, it is, so to speak, strengthened by the food which the soul receives, it spiritualizes itself more and more, and the soul takes spiritual substances of the body into itself when it leaves the world. The earthly material components of the body will not have to go through such a long process of maturing, sometimes they will even be admitted to the formation of a new human soul where they can completely spiritualize themselves. Where soul and body push towards the spirit, such spiritualization is guaranteed if God's eternal order is also paused in the upward development of the spirit. However, the course of ascent development can be considerably shortened when the spiritual's resistance is broken, i.e. when the spiritual itself gives up all resistance, which is always the case, when the body detaches itself from everything it otherwise strives for, when it facilitates the soul's spiritual striving by joining it and seeking to break every earthly fetter through conscious devotion and submission to the spirit within itself, which now draws soul and body to itself, and a rapid ascent development of both is now the result....

Vergeistigung der Substanzen des Körpers....

Der Körper soll der Seele zur geistigen Reife verhelfen, indem er sich selbst aufgibt, indem er jede Begierde unterdrückt und nur das Verlangen der Seele zur Geltung kommen läßt, die sich, so der Körper sie frei gibt, ganz dem Geist in sich hingibt, also seinem Verlangen und seinem Drängen nachgibt. Je mehr der Körper sich dem Verlangen der Seele anschließt, desto mehr vergeistigt sich also auch die materielle Außenform der Seele, und es braucht diese dann keinen so langen Erdenweg mehr zurücklegen, wohingegen ein vollständig materiell eingestellter Körper noch nach seinem Leibestod lange Zeit benötigt, ehe er sein Begehren überwunden hat. Es sind gleichsam die geistigen Substanzen der Außenformen jener Seelen verfeinert, sie sind nicht mehr so grobstofflich, wenngleich sie noch irdische Materie sind. Die Seele zieht ihn mit hinüber in das Bereich des Geistes, dem sie jede Herrschaft über sich eingeräumt hat, und der Körper folgt ihr willig, er leistet auf alles Verzicht, was ihm sonst begehrenswert erschien, er ist völlig widerstandslos und daher auch nicht mehr der Welt zugewandt. Und es wird ein Mensch schneller reifen, so Körper und Seele dem Geist in sich untertan sind. Dieser regieret sie nun in Liebe und Weisheit.... was er verlangt, führt die Seele und der Körper aus, und dies trägt zum geistigen Fortschritt bei. Denn die Seele wird die Stimme des Geistes vernehmen können, weil der Körper gleichzeitig bereit ist, indem er der Seele jede Störung fernhält, indem er sich selbst in den Zustand versetzt, daß sich die Stimme des Geistes äußert. Denn es muß sich der Körper völlig lösen von der Welt, er muß sein körperliches Ohr verschließen und der Seele das Horchen überlassen, auf daß diese es ihm dann vermittle. Je weniger die Seele vom Körper behindert wird, desto vernehmlicher ertönet ihr die Stimme des Geistes. Der Körper aber trägt auch großen Erfolg davon. Er überwindet viel leichter die Materie, er ist gewissermaßen gekräftigt durch die Speise, welche die Seele entgegennimmt, er vergeistigt sich immer mehr, und die Seele nimmt bei ihrem Abscheiden von der Welt geistige Substanzen des Körpers mit in sich auf. Die irdisch materiellen Bestandteile des Körpers werden keinen so langen Reifeprozeß durchzumachen haben, mitunter sogar zur Bildung einer neuen Menschenseele zugelassen werden, wo sie sich völlig vergeistigen können. Wo Seele und Körper dem Geist entgegendrängen, ist eine solche Vergeistigung gewährleistet, wenn auch Gottes ewige Ordnung innegehalten wird in der Aufwärtsentwicklung des Geistes. Es kann jedoch der Gang der Aufwärtsentwicklung erheblich verkürzt werden, wenn der Widerstand des Geistigen gebrochen ist, d.h., wenn das Geistige selbst jeden Widerstand aufgibt, was stets der Fall ist, wenn sich der Körper löset von allem, was er sonst anstrebt, wenn er der Seele das geistige Streben erleichtert, indem er selbst sich ihr anschließt und jede irdische Fessel zu sprengen sucht durch bewußte Hingabe und Unterstellen dem Geist in sich, der Seele und Körper nun an sich zieht, und eine rasche Aufwärtsentwicklung beider nun die Folge ist....
