Recognizing the divine gift of grace....

The greatest grace is the transmission of the word of God in such a form that it can be communicated not only to one person but to the general public. A process that is so extraordinary must be recognized as a special grace, as a work of God's love for humanity that is accomplished for its salvation. And anyone who seriously reflects on this must be deeply touched by God's love and filled with great gratitude, for he knows that he himself is also touched by this love if he takes the opportunity and allows the word of God to penetrate deep into his heart. Yet in most cases this gift of grace is not recognized. No attention is paid to the extraordinary process or to the profound wisdom that the imparted word contains. For the human being's intellect tries to explain everything in earthly terms and he sees the cause of the spiritual results in the recipient's special ability to write down his own thoughts because he himself lacks faith in a loving being Which, in Its wisdom and omnipotence, tries to help people. For this faith is absolutely necessary in order to recognize the divine gift of grace as such. And this is why the word of God cannot be spread like a world view because earthly questions are not raised and discussed but faith is lacking for spiritual instructions and thus the word of God does not belong to the world but to those who are outside of it, i.e. who have already overcome it to such an extent that only the spiritual world seems desirable to them. And this is why the divine gift of grace receives so little attention and recognition, for humanity sees and hears with the eyes and ears of the body and these still belong to the world, which is why they only pay attention to what is useful for their earthly life and what they therefore also want to advocate and spread. However, God-seeking, believing people will recognize the word of God. They sense the divine care and know that they are being guided, and thus it is also understandable to them that a creator will not leave His living creations without help if they are in need. And they also recognize that they are in need by the fact that there is no spiritual striving amongst humanity and that this can only be achieved through the word of God if people are willing. For the word of God is the binding agent which can bring people who are distant from God back into the right relationship with God. It is the path that leads from the earthly kingdom into the spiritual kingdom, it is the source of strength that enables people to live in accordance with divine will. And to a believing person it will not seem impossible that God expresses Himself in an extraordinary way, for he also recognizes the extraordinary nature of His working and is happy about it. And now his faith and his love for God will deepen and he will strive towards Him ever more eagerly. Thus he allows the grace flowing to him through the word of God to take effect and his soul matures, he increases in knowledge and shapes himself into love....

Erkennen der göttlichen Gnadengabe....

Die größte Gnade ist das Zuleiten des Wortes Gottes in einer Form, daß es nicht nur einem Menschen, sondern der Allgemeinheit mitgeteilt werden kann. Ein Vorgang, der so außergewöhnlich ist, muß als eine besondere Gnade erkannt werden, als ein Liebeswerk Gottes an der Menschheit, das zu ihrer Rettung vollbracht wird. Und wer darüber ernstlich nachdenkt, den muß die Liebe Gottes tief berühren und mit großer Dankbarkeit erfüllen, weiß er doch auch sich selbst erfaßt von dieser Liebe, so er die Gelegenheit nützet und das Wort Gottes tief in sein Herz eindringen läßt. Doch zumeist wird diese Gnadengabe nicht erkannt. Es wird nicht des außergewöhnlichen Vorganges geachtet wie auch nicht der tiefen Weisheit, die das vermittelte Wort in sich birgt. Denn der Verstand des Menschen sucht alles irdisch zu erklären, und er sieht die Ursache der geistigen Ergebnisse in der besonderen Fähigkeit des Empfangenden, sein eigenes Gedankengut niederzuschreiben, weil ihm selbst der Glaube fehlt an ein liebevolles Wesen, Das in Seiner Weisheit und Allmacht den Menschen zu helfen sucht. Denn dieser Glaube ist unbedingt erforderlich, um die göttliche Gnadengabe als solche zu erkennen. Und darum kann das Wort Gottes nicht verbreitet werden wie eine Weltanschauung, weil nicht irdische Fragen aufgeworfen und erörtert werden, für geistige Belehrungen aber der Glaube fehlt und somit das Wort Gottes nicht der Welt angehört, sondern denen, die außerhalb derer stehen, d.h. sie schon so weit überwunden haben, daß ihnen nur noch die geistige Welt begehrenswert dünkt. Und darum findet die göttliche Gnadengabe so wenig Beachtung und Anerkennung, denn es sieht und hört die Menschheit mit den Augen und Ohren des Körpers, und diese gehören noch der Welt an, weswegen sie nur das beachten, was ihrem irdischen Leben nützet und was sie daher auch vertreten und verbreiten wollen. Doch die Gott-suchenden, gläubigen Menschen werden das Wort Gottes erkennen. Sie spüren die göttliche Fürsorge und wissen sich gelenkt, und also ist es ihnen auch verständlich, daß ein Schöpfer Seine Geschöpfe nicht ohne Hilfe läßt, so sie in Not sind. Und daß sie in Not sind, erkennen sie ebenfalls daran, daß kein geistiges Streben unter der Menschheit ist und daß dieses nur durch das Wort Gottes erreicht werden kann, so die Menschen willig sind. Denn das Wort Gottes ist das Bindemittel, das die Gott-fernen Menschen wieder in das rechte Verhältnis zu Gott versetzen kann. Es ist der Weg, der aus dem irdischen Reich in das geistige Reich führt, es ist der Kraftquell, der die Menschen fähig macht, dem göttlichen Willen gemäß zu leben. Und einem gläubigen Menschen wird es auch nicht unmöglich erscheinen, daß Gott Sich außergewöhnlich äußert, denn er erkennt auch das Außergewöhnliche Seines Wirkens und ist darüber beglückt. Und nun wird sein Glaube und seine Liebe zu Gott vertieft, und er strebt Ihm immer eifriger entgegen. Also lässet er die Gnade an sich wirksam werden, die ihm durch das Wort Gottes zuströmt, und er reifet an seiner Seele, er nimmt zu an Erkenntnis und formt sich zur Liebe....
