Suffering and tribulation God's resources....

Earthly experience has to help you humans achieve spiritual maturity, then the purpose of earthly life will be fulfilled. And this is why life cannot pass by without disappointments and suffering, for only these contribute towards the human being turning his thoughts away from earthly things, whereas a carefree, happy earthly existence only chains the human being more firmly to the world and occupies his every thought, making it difficult for him to turn to God. No event is therefore in vain, whether it brings joy or suffering for the human being, and as soon as he derives the right benefit from everything, i.e. advancement for his soul, he will one day look back with gratitude at the means God used to help him achieve eternal bliss. The earthly effect of an event is unimportant with regard to the soul's development, for the human being was only given earthly life for the sake of the soul, because the soul is imperishable, whereas earthly life does not last forever and is therefore not important. But if an earthly experience has an influence on the soul and its development then it is always good, even if it brings suffering and tribulation to the human being, for this too will pass, but the soul constantly progresses upwards and one day gratefully acknowledges that it would not have been able to mature without suffering and tribulation. And so earthly life is a chain of such aids, which are all given to the human being by God's wisdom and love and serve his development if he does not rebel against them and unwillingly and grumblingly takes these burdens upon himself. The human being should always be convinced that nothing comes upon him without God's will or His permission and that every event can bring him blessings, then he will also humbly accept the difficulties, he will regard his earthly existence as a means to an end, as a path to perfection which is not only useful but necessary. He will derive an advantage for his soul from every experience, for he will recognize everything that comes upon him as having been sent by God. He will then also live his life consciously and seriously consider how every trial, every earthly event, can benefit his soul, and he will mature in knowledge, he will educate himself to patience and submission to God's will, he will purify himself through suffering and renunciations of all kinds and thus shape himself according to God's will, as soon as he submits uncomplainingly to everything that is granted to him in earthly life. Then not a day on earth will have been lived in vain, he will make use of his last embodiment on earth and his state of soul must mature, spiritual progress must be certain for him, even if he has to struggle hard on earth. For earthly life is a school which is intended to bring maturity of soul to all people.... earth is a place of purification. And the human being will only be successful if he tests his will and strength against all kinds of opposition and thereby becomes stronger to overcome all temptations that come his way during his earthly life....

Leid und Trübsal Hilfsmittel Gottes....

Es muß das irdische Erleben euch Menschen zur geistigen Reife verhelfen, dann ist der Erdenlebenszweck erfüllt. Und darum kann das Leben nicht ohne Enttäuschungen und Leiden vorübergehen, denn nur diese tragen dazu bei, daß der Mensch seine Gedanken abwendet vom Irdischen, während ein sorgenloses, frohes Erdendasein den Menschen nur fester an die Welt kettet und jeden Gedanken in Anspruch nimmt und sich nun schwerlich Gott zuwendet. Kein Geschehen ist darum umsonst, mag es Freude oder Leid bringen für den Menschen, und sowie er aus allem den rechten Nutzen zieht, also Förderung für seine Seele, wird er einst voller Dankbarkeit zurückblicken auf die Hilfsmittel, die Gott anwandte, um ihm zu verhelfen zur ewigen Seligkeit. Wie sich irdisch ein Geschehen auswirkt, ist im Hinblick auf die seelische Entwicklung unwichtig, denn nur der Seele wegen ist dem Menschen das Erdenleben geschenkt worden, weil die Seele unvergänglich ist, während das irdische Leben nicht von Ewigkeitsdauer ist und darum auch nicht wichtig zu nehmen ist. Hat ein irdisches Erlebnis aber Einfluß auf die Seele und deren Entwicklung, so ist es immer gut, wenngleich es dem Menschen Leid und Trübsal bringt, denn auch dieses geht vorüber, die Seele aber schreitet ständig aufwärts und erkennt einst dankbar an, daß sie ohne Leid und Trübsal nicht hätte reifen können. Und so ist das Erdenleben eine Kette von solchen Hilfsmitteln, die alle von Gottes Weisheit und Liebe dem Menschen zugewendet werden und zur Entwicklung dienen, so er sich nicht dagegen auflehnt und unwillig und murrend diese Lasten auf sich nimmt. Es soll der Mensch stets davon überzeugt sein, daß nichts über ihn kommt ohne den Willen Gottes oder Seine Zulassung und daß jedes Geschehen ihm Segen bringen kann, dann wird er auch ergeben das Schwere entgegennehmen, er wird sein Erdendasein als Mittel zum Zweck ansehen, als ein Weg zur Vollendung, der nicht nur nützlich, sondern notwendig ist. Er wird aus jedem Erleben einen Vorteil ziehen für seine Seele, denn er wird alles, was über ihn kommt, als von Gott gesandt erkennen. Er wird auch dann sein Leben bewußt leben und ernstlich nachdenken, wie jede Prüfung, jedes irdische Geschehen, seiner Seele nützen kann, und er wird reifen in der Erkenntnis, er wird sich selbst erziehen zur Geduld und Ergebung in Gottes Willen, er wird sich läutern durch Leiden und Entsagungen aller Art und sich also formen nach Gottes Willen, sowie er sich klaglos in alles fügt, was ihm im Erdenleben beschieden ist. Dann ist kein Tag auf Erden vergeblich gelebt, er nützet seine letzte Verkörperung auf Erden, und sein Seelenzustand muß reifen, ein geistiger Fortschritt muß ihm sicher sein, wenngleich er auf Erden schwer zu kämpfen hat. Denn es ist das Erdenleben eine Schule, die allen Menschen Seelenreife eintragen soll.... es ist die Erde ein Ort der Läuterung. Und Erfolge wird der Mensch nur dann zu verzeichnen haben, wenn er an Widerständen aller Art seinen Willen und seine Kraft erprobt und dadurch stärker wird, jegliche Versuchungen, die an ihn herantreten während seines Erdenlebens, zu überwinden....
