Many are called, few are chosen....

Many are called, but few are chosen.... Both calling and election depend on God's grace, but this gift of grace is also determined by the will of the person himself, whether he is receptive to it, i.e. whether he makes himself worthy of the exceptional influx of divine grace. God has called all people to eternal bliss, and yet it depends on the will of the individual that he is worthy of it. All people can feel called, but it is up to them to decide how they feel about it. There is no compulsion from above, just as an individual's preference does not effortlessly help him to ascend, but every extraordinary supply of grace is only the result of a will that is seriously turned to God and makes an effort to fulfill the divine will. Then God's love takes hold of him and strengthens and supports him through an abundant influx of grace, which brings about his perfection. And these are the chosen ones, they are His own, who are constantly allowed to receive grace from Him because they want to receive it and constantly ask for it. Thus the human being's will is absolutely essential for him to be chosen in the first place, and yet no-one can say that he is not also called on this earth, for since he lives on earth for the purpose of his higher development God Himself has called him to cover the path upwards and He also makes His grace available to him for this purpose. However, very few people pay attention to their calling, i.e. they only live their lives in a purely earthly way and ignore their actual calling. God cannot choose any of these people, for granting them an excess of grace against their will would mean an inevitable higher development which has no value if the being thereby loses its free will. Yet God needs servants on earth to help those who disregard their calling.... And He can only choose these from amongst those who, of their own free will, make themselves worthy of an exceptional gift of grace, who therefore make use of the measure of grace they receive and who, through their prayer, can avail themselves of a constant supply of grace. among these, therefore, He chooses His workers and endows them with extraordinary power.... These are the chosen ones who always and constantly receive graces, but who have previously surrendered their will to God, who have voluntarily responded to the calling and have always used the supply of grace for their spiritual progress. The first are called, even without their will, yet they do not follow the call, but these are likewise called by God and offer no resistance, but there are only a few whom God can now consider so extraordinarily that they are regarded as God's chosen ones.... There are only a few who allow themselves to be chosen by God, who strive towards Him with all their senses and therefore can also receive gifts of grace in abundance.... that they can become children of the father and enter His kingdom....

많은 사람이 부름을 받고 소수가 택함을 받는다.

많은 사람이 부름을 받지만 단지 소수의 사람들이 택함을 받는다. 부르심과 택함은 실제 하나님의 은혜에 달려 있다. 그러나 은혜를 받는 일은 인간의 의지가 정한다. 즉 그가 은혜를 받기에 합당한지, 다시 말해 하나님의 은혜를 특별하게 받기에 자신을 합당하게 만드는 일은 인간의 의지가 정한다. 하나님은 모든 사람을 영원한 축복하기 위해 부른다. 그러나 사람이 이 축복을 받기에 합당한지는 개인의 의지에 달려 있다. 그러므로 모든 사람은 부름을 받은 것으로 느낄 수 있지만, 그가 이런 부름에 어떤 자세를 취할지는 그에게 달려 있다. 위로부터 강요가 이뤄지지 않는다. 마찬가지로 개인에게 특혜를 베풀어 그가 쉽게 높이 성장하도록 돕지 않고, 모든 특별한 은혜의 공급은 단지 진지하게 하나님께 돌이키고, 하나님의 뜻을 이루기 위해 노력하는 의지의 결과이다.

그러면 하나님의 사랑이 그를 붙잡고, 넘치게 은혜의 선물을 부어주어 그를 강하게 하고, 지원하고, 은혜의 선물이 그를 온전하게 만든다. 이런 사람은 택함을 받은 사람이고, 하나님으로부터 계속해서 은혜를 받을 수 있다. 왜냐면 그가 은혜를 받기를 원하고, 끊임없이 구하기 때문이다. 그러므로 택함을 받기 위해 절대적으로 먼저 사람의 의지가 필요하고, 어느 누구도 자신이 이 땅에서 부름을 받지 않았다고 말할 수 없다. 왜냐면 그가 더 높이 성장하기 위해 이 땅에서 살고, 하나님 자신이 높은 곳을 향한 길을 가도록 그를 불렀고, 하나님은 또한 이를 위해 자신의 은혜를 그에게 제공하기 때문이다.

그러나 단지 소수의 사람이 자신의 사명에 주의를 기울인다. 즉 사람들이 단지 순전히 세상적인 삶을 살고, 실제 사명에는 주의를 기울이지 않는다. 하나님은 그런 사람들을 택할 수 없다. 왜냐면 그런 사람들에게 그들의 의지와는 반대로 과도한 은혜를 주는 일은 피할 수 없는 더 높은 성장을 의미할 것이기 때문이고, 이런 성장은 존재가 자유의지로 이루지 않았기 때문에 가치가 없기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님은 자신들의 사명에 주의를 기울이지 않는 사람들을 도울 이 땅의 종들을 필요로 한다. 하나님은 이런 종들을 단지 자유의지로 특별한 은혜를 받기에 자신을 합당하게 만드는 사람들의 무리 안에서 택할 수 있다. 그들은 자신에게 제공된 분량의 은혜를 활용하고, 그들의 기도를 통해 지속적으로 은혜를 받을 수 있다. 그러므로 하나님은 그런 사람들 가운데서 일꾼을 택하고, 그들에게 특별한 힘을 제공한다.

그들은 택함받은 사람들이고, 그들은 항상 끊임없이 은혜를 받는다. 그러나 그들은 이 전에 하나님께 그들의 의지를 드렸고, 자발적으로 사명을 수행하고, 그들의 영적인 성장을 위해 항상 받은 은혜를 활용한다. 첫 번 사람들은 자신들의 뜻이 없이도 부름을 받지만, 그들은 부름을 따르지 않는다. 그러나 다른 사람들은 또한 하나님에 부름을 받고 어떠한 저항도 하지 않지만, 하나님이 단지 소수의 사람들을 택할 수 있고, 이제 그들에게 특별하게 베풀 수 있다. 하나님이 자신을 택하게 하는 사람은 단지 소수의 사람들이다. 그들은 모든 감각으로 하나님을 추구한다. 그러므로 또한 넘치게 은혜의 선물을 받을 수 있게 되어, 아버지의 자녀가 될 수 있고, 하나님의 나라에 들어 갈 수 있다._>아멘
