Agonizing state in solid form....

The state which the spiritual has to endure in the solid form is indescribably agonizing, and it is also of endless duration. It is a stage of being bound which no being would take upon itself with will. But free will is taken from it, and its course of development is determined for it by God, i.e., it is a certain mandatory state against which the spiritual cannot rebel. And since it was originally created free, it perceives every compulsion as torment. It was previously unhindered, it was able to will and carry out because it was a recipient of strength through the will of the one Who let it come into being, but which it used in a God-opposing sense, that is, it used it for creations again with a will opposed to God. These creations are not material things but spiritual creations which flow through the spiritual kingdom like thoughts and have an effect contrary to God. The influence of these currents is again felt by the beings which strive towards God, and that is why the spiritual is prevented from it, and at the same time the possibility is given to it to change its God-opposing will. It is bound by God's will in the solid form, in a cover, which it cannot penetrate because this cover again consists of still harder spiritual substance, which makes every escape impossible for the spiritual in it. The outer shell now encloses the originally free spiritual substance ever more firmly and presses it immensely, all strength is withdrawn from it, it is powerlessly exposed to this oppression, no matter how much it rebels against it.... Hence it begins its course of development on earth under these torments, after it has either previously covered such a course on earth without success or it has proven itself to be a pest in the spiritual kingdom, that it therefore tried to influence the spiritual substance, which is supposed to freely determine itself, into apostasy from God. Then all freedom of will has to be taken from this spiritual being because every open fight against God is a sin which now earns it bondage. Its will will be bound for a long time so that it will slowly turn to God again, but this is again only the result of torments from which it can only escape through a changed will.... by submitting to divine will, by the spiritual substance declaring itself willing to serve, thus by beginning to give up its resistance against God. Only extreme torments achieve this, and therefore even the most agonizing external form is still to be regarded as a means of grace, for it is a means of redemption, of ascending development, even if this often takes a long time, since all periods require a certain amount of time in order to further develop the spiritual substance in constant change until the final stage, which then allows the embodiment as a human being, where free will is given back to the spiritual substance, which the human being now has to use correctly in order to become free of every external form and thus also of the associated torments.

Qualvoller Zustand in der festen Form....

Unbeschreiblich qualvoll ist der Zustand, den das Geistige in der festen Form ertragen muß, und er ist auch von endlos langer Dauer. Es ist ein Stadium des Gebundenseins, das mit Willen kein Wesen auf sich nehmen würde. Doch ihm ist der freie Wille genommen, und sein Entwicklungsgang ist ihm von Gott bestimmt, d.h., es ist ein gewisser Mußzustand, gegen den sich das Geistige nicht auflehnen kann. Und da es ursprünglich frei geschaffen war, empfindet es jeden Zwang als Qual. Es war vordem ungehindert, es konnte wollen und ausführen, weil es durch den Willen Dessen, Der es entstehen ließ, Kraftempfänger war, die es aber in Gott-widrigem Sinne anwandte, also sie nützte zu Schöpfungen wieder mit Gott entgegengesetztem Willen. Es sind diese Schöpfungen keine materiellen Dinge, sondern geistige Schöpfungen, die Gedanken-gleich das geistige Reich durchströmen und sich Gott-widrig auswirken. Den Einfluß dieser Strömungen spüren wieder die Wesenheiten, die Gott zustreben, und darum wird das Geistige daran gehindert, und gleichzeitig wird ihm die Möglichkeit gegeben, seinen Gott-widrigen Willen zu wandeln. Es wird durch Gottes Willen gebunden in der festen Form, in einer Hülle, die es nicht durchdringen kann, weil diese Hülle wieder besteht aus noch härterer geistiger Substanz, die dem in ihr sich bergenden Geistigen jedes Entfliehen unmöglich macht. Immer fester umschließt die äußere Hülle nun das ursprünglich freie Geistige und bedrängt es ungemein, jegliche Kraft ist ihm entzogen, es ist machtlos diesem Bedrängen preisgegeben, und ob es sich noch so sehr dagegen aufbäumt.... Unter diesen Qualen beginnt es also seinen Entwicklungsgang auf Erden, nachdem es zuvor entweder auf Erden einen solchen erfolglos zurückgelegt hat oder es sich als Schädling im geistigen Reich erwiesen hat, daß es also das frei über sich bestimmen sollende Geistige zu beeinflussen suchte zum Abfall von Gott. Dann muß diesem Geistigen jegliche Willensfreiheit genommen werden, denn jeder offene Kampf gegen Gott ist eine Sünde, die ihm nun Unfreiheit einträgt. Sein Wille wird gebunden auf lange Zeit, auf daß es sich langsam Gott wieder zuwendet, was aber wieder nur die Folge ist von Qualen, denen es nur entfliehen kann durch einen gewandelten Willen.... durch ein Unterwerfen unter den göttlichen Willen, indem das Geistige sich bereit erklärt zu dienen, also seinen Widerstand gegen Gott aufzugeben beginnt. Nur übergroße Qualen bewirken dieses, und darum ist auch die qualvollste Außenform noch als ein Gnadenmittel anzusehen, denn sie ist ein Mittel zur Erlösung, zur aufsteigenden Entwicklung, wenn dies auch oft lange Zeiten dauert, da alle Perioden eine bestimmte Zeit benötigen, um das Geistige in ständiger Wandlung bis zum letzten Stadium fortzubilden, das dann die Verkörperung als Mensch zuläßt, wo der freie Wille dem Geistigen wieder zurückgegeben wird, den der Mensch nun recht nützen muß, um jeglicher Außenform ledig zu werden und also auch der damit verbundenen Qualen.
