Suffering and tribulations through divine intervention....

For many people the suffering and tribulations only begin with the divine intervention, for they had previously remained untouched by it and ignored all admonitions. The adversity of their fellow human beings did not bring about a change in their thinking and therefore they themselves must now suffer hardship which is, as it were, the last resort for their salvation.... And that is why those countries will now be affected which have so far been spared severe suffering and yet are not blameless for the world events which have brought unspeakable suffering upon people. Many people pass by the hardship of their fellow human beings harshly and unfeelingly and it is these who have to endure the suffering themselves, which their will approved of when it came upon their fellow human beings because they saw their enemy in the latter. And what people inflict on their fellow human beings now falls back on them a thousand fold.... And they now have to atone in this way, except that human will cannot put an end to the misery, for it is not human powers which now express themselves but divine will itself is at work and hits people at their most vulnerable point.... He takes all possessions from people, He makes them poor and weak and completely dependent on His grace. And in this adversity people should learn to recognize that they are unable to do anything by their own strength, they should learn to understand that God is just and that He sensitively punishes people who have transgressed against Him and His commandments, but that He also protects those who are closely connected to Him even though they are surrounded by people who no longer care much about God. And many will still come to their senses and compare their own fate with that of those people whose downfall was destined by human beings. What God is now sending upon people is so powerful and sorrowful that every thinking person would have to recognize a higher will in it and reflect on himself. But again he will only think of himself; he will not see the general misery but only look at himself and his fate. And so charity will be practiced little, everyone will only strive to improve his own lot and again he will pass by the misery of his fellow human being.... And God, Who knows everyone's will, therefore sends such great suffering upon people in order to change this will, to make them soft and compassionate and to let them seek refuge in Him, Who alone can turn their fate around for the better.

Suferința și necazul prin intervenția divină....

Pentru mulți oameni, suferința și necazurile încep abia cu intervenția divină, pentru că înainte au rămas neatinși de ea și au ignorat toate avertismentele. Adversitatea semenilor lor nu a determinat o schimbare în gândirea lor și, prin urmare, trebuie să vină acum asupra lor o adversitate care este, ca să zicem așa, ultima soluție pentru salvarea lor.... Și de aceea vor fi afectate acum țările care până acum au fost scutite de suferințe grave și care, cu toate acestea, nu sunt totuși lipsite de vină în evenimentele mondiale care au adus suferințe de nedescris asupra popoarelor. Mulți oameni trec pe lângă greutățile semenilor lor cu asprime și fără sentimente, iar ei sunt cei care trebuie să treacă ei înșiși prin suferința pe care voința lor a aprobat-o atunci când aceasta s-a abătut asupra semenilor lor, pentru că au văzut în aceștia din urmă dușmanul lor. Iar ceea ce oamenii provoacă semenilor lor se răsfrânge acum asupra lor de o mie de ori.... Și ei trebuie acum să ispășească în acest fel, doar că voința umană nu poate pune capăt mizeriei, pentru că nu puterile umane se exprimă acum, ci voința divină însăși este la lucru și îi afectează pe oameni în punctul lor cel mai vulnerabil.... El le ia oamenilor toate bunurile, îi face săraci și slabi și complet dependenți de harul Său. Și în această adversitate, ființa umană va învăța să recunoască faptul că nu este capabilă să facă nimic prin forțele proprii, va învăța să înțeleagă că Dumnezeu este drept și că îi pedepsește cu sensibilitate pe oamenii care au încălcat poruncile Lui, dar că îi protejează și pe cei care sunt strâns uniți cu El, chiar dacă sunt înconjurați de oameni pentru care Dumnezeu nu mai înseamnă mare lucru. Și mulți își vor veni totuși în fire și își vor compara propria soartă cu cea a acelor oameni a căror cădere a fost determinată de ei. Ceea ce Dumnezeu trimite acum asupra oamenilor este atât de puternic și de dureros, încât orice persoană care gândește ar trebui să recunoască în aceasta o voință superioară și să meargă în interiorul său. Dar, din nou, ea se va gândi doar la sine; nu va vedea mizeria generală, ci se va uita doar la sine și la soarta sa. Și astfel, iubirea aproapelui va fi puțin practicată, fiecare se va strădui doar să-și îmbunătățească propria soartă, și din nou va trece pe lângă greutățile semenilor săi.... Iar Dumnezeu, Care cunoaște orice voință, trimite de aceea suferințe atât de mari asupra oamenilor pentru a schimba această voință, pentru a-i face mai blânzi și mai miloși și pentru a-i face să caute refugiu la El, Singurul care le poate întoarce soarta spre bine.
