Neighbourly love corresponds to the original state of being....

Active neighbourly love is no longer practiced by people because everyone only strives for their own well-being, i.e. selfish love is too strongly developed. This attitude of people is contrary to the original nature and the original purpose, for the being emerged from love and its activity should be an act of love.... it emerged from the all-encompassing love of God and should radiate love again.... Human love, however, is small and narrowly limited, it only extends to one's own body, it is therefore not blissful but only demanding.... It is not giving, but always demanding, and it will never be equal to divine love. Active neighbourly love corresponds more to the original state and the original determination of the being, and therefore only through it can the being free itself from self-love and come closer to the original state again. It is selfless and only wants to please, and consequently it must be of divine origin, that is, it must flow from a heart that feels connected to God and can therefore receive God's emanation of love. Divine love constantly distributes, just as active neighbourly love is a constant distribution of what the person himself possesses or receives. Self-love, on the other hand, does not give but takes everything for itself, it does not make happy and is in no way divine, but rather proves that it belongs to the one who rejects divine love and has fallen prey to unkindness. In His immense love God created human beings in order to restore the beingness to its original state, in order to give it back what it had once lost because His love constantly wants to give and the hapless state does not correspond to His feeling of love. However, the beingness can only receive His emanation of love again and therefore only be in a happy state when it has shaped itself into love, when it distributes love itself in complete unselfishness. Only then will its feelings, thoughts and actions correspond to its original state, which was a state of deepest and purest love and the being was therefore similar to God and could be close to Him. But this state should also make the being happy again, for it is the final goal of all beingness that emerged from God, and it can only be achieved if the human being practices love, if he unselfishly distributes to his fellow human being what he himself possesses and what he himself deems desirable. For giving love is divine, and thus it must also mould the giver into a divine being, it must stimulate the heart to ever more eager loving activity and reduce the distance from God ever more.... The loving person must find union with God through his activity of love and be seized by divine love, which radiates through him more and more until the being has completely become love, until it is again what it originally was.... a spiritual being that has emerged from divine love, that is in the closest union with God, that can work and create like Him....

이웃 사랑은 존재들의 원래 상태에 합당하다.

사람들이 더 이상 이웃 사랑을 행하지 않는다. 모든 사람이 단지 자신의 행복만을 추구하기 때문이다. 그러므로 자기 사랑이 강하게 발달되었다. 이런 사람들의 자세는 원래의 성품과 원래 정함 받은 바의 반대이다. 왜냐하면 존재는 사랑으로부터 생성되어, 하는 일이 사랑을 행하는 일이 돼야하기 때문이다. 존재는 모든 것을 감싸는 하나님의 사랑으로 생성이 되었고, 다시 사랑을 발산해야 한다. 그러나 인간의 사랑은 적고, 아주 제한되어 있고, 이 사랑은 단지 자신의 육체에게 향한다. 그러므로 이 사랑은 행복하게 해주지 못하고, 단지 요구한다. 이 사랑은 주지 않고, 항상 요구한다. 이 사랑은 절대로 하나님의 사랑과 같게 되지 못할 것이다.

이웃 사랑을 실천하는 일이 존재들의 원래 상태와 원래 정함 받은 바에 더욱 합당하다. 그러므로 단지 이런 사랑이 존재를 자기 사랑으로부터 자유롭게 될 수 있고, 다시 원래의 상태에 다가 갈 수 있게 한다. 이런 사랑은 자신을 생각하지 않고, 단지 행복하게 해주기를 원한다. 그러므로 이런 사랑은 신적인 근원 이어야만 하고, 심장으로부터 나와야만 하고, 자신이 하나님과 연결된 것으로 느껴야만 하고, 이를 통해 하나님의 사랑의 비추임을 받을 수 있게 되어야만 한다. 하나님의 사랑은 지속적으로 나눠 준다. 마찬가지로 행함이 있는 이웃 사랑도 사람 자신이 소유하거나 또는 받은 것을 지속적으로 나눠준다. 반면에 자기 사랑은 주지 않고, 모든 것을 단지 자기 자신을 위해 요구한다. 자기 사랑은 행복하게 만들지 않고, 어떤 방식으로든지 신적인 것이라 할 수 없다. 자기 사랑은 단지 하나님의 사랑을 거부하여 사랑 없음에 빠진 자에게 속한 것임을 증명한다.

하나님은 그의 아주 큰 사랑으로 존재들을 다시 원래 상태로 만들어 주기 위해, 그들이 한때 잃어버렸던 것을 그들에게 다시 돌려주기 위해, 사람들을 창조 하였다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 사랑은 항상 베풀기를 원하고, 행복하지 못한 상태는 하나님의 사랑의 느낌에 합당하지 않기 때문이다. 존재가 자신을 사랑으로 만든다면, 존재 자신이 전적으로 자신의 유익을 구하지 않은 가운데 사랑을 베푼다면, 존재는 비로소 다시 하나님의 사랑의 비추임을 받을 수 있다. 다시 말해 행복한 상태에 도달할 수 있다.

그러면 그의 느낌과, 생각과, 행하는 일이 가장 깊고 가장 순수한 사랑의 상태였던, 그러므로 하나님과 비슷하고, 하나님 가까이에 거할 수 있었던, 그의 원래의 상태에 비로소 합당하게 된다. 그러나 이런 상태가 존재를 다시 행복하게 해줘야 한다. 왜냐하면 이런 상태는 하나님으로부터 생성된 모든 존재들의 마지막 목표이기 때문이다. 사람이 사랑을 행하면, 그가 지신의 유익을 구하지 않고 자신이 소유한 것을, 자신에게 갈망할 만하게 보이는 것을, 이웃 사람들에게 나누어 준다면, 그가 단지 이런 상태에 도달할 수 있다.

왜냐하면 베푸는 사랑이 신적인 것이기 때문이다. 그러므로 이런 사랑은 사랑을 베푸는 사람을 하나님의 성품으로 만들어야만 한다. 이런 사랑은 항상 더 열심히 사랑을 행하도록 심장에 자극해야만 하고, 하나님과의 먼 간격은 항상 줄여 줘야만 한다. 사랑을 행하는 사람은 자신의 사랑 행함을 통해 하나님과 연합돼야만 하고, 하나님의 사랑에 의해 붙잡힘을 받아야만 한다. 존재가 전적으로 사랑으로 변화되기까지, 존재가 다시 원래 그랬던 것처럼 다시 될 때까지, 하나님의 사랑으로 생성된, 하나님과 가장 깊게 연결되어 있는 하나님과 같이 역사하고 창조할 수 있었던 영적인 존재가 될 때까지, 이 하나님의 사랑이 존재에게 항상 더욱 비춰져야 한다.
