Strong or weakened will to receive.... love for God....

The spirit's effectiveness is weakened if the human being's will is not strong enough to resist external influences. The spiritual spark in the human being certainly receives the influx from the spiritual kingdom but it is unable to make the spiritual gifts comprehensible to the human being's soul, or alternatively, the human being's soul is incapable of hearing what it is offered because the will is not exclusively focussed on the divine gift. And this until he has mustered the strength to turn away from everything that appears desirable to the body. Every connection with the spiritual world is an act of complete devotion to it, therefore the earthly, the bodily desire must be put aside, and where the will for it cannot be mustered, there an unhindered work of the spirit is not possible, otherwise the favour of God would flow towards man against his will, but which must be completely turned towards the receiving of this favour. The will of man alone is decisive, for it testifies to the degree of love of the heart. Love for God is always expressed in the human being's will, and so the will to receive will also be in accordance with the human being's love for God. If the heart pushes towards God, then the will is also strong to overcome every obstacle; but if the will is weak, then the heart's desire for God is also not great, and therefore the currents from the spiritual kingdom cannot become so effective that they can be imparted to the soul. Heartfelt prayer certainly increases the strength of will, but this intimacy is also dependent on love for God, so that it is therefore understandable that the ability to receive is not always the same if the human being does not always have the same will to love and activity of love. The human being must constantly want to give, for then he will also constantly be allowed to receive, for the former testifies to his love for God, his will turned towards Him, which is the prerequisite for the spirit to be able to work out of God. And the deeper and more intimate the devotion is, the more comprehensibly the soul hears what the spirit wants to convey to it, for it then loosens every bond with the earthly world and accepts the gifts from the spiritual world. Spiritual gifts are precious commodities that are to be desired and received accordingly and therefore require the undivided will of the human being in order to be able to take possession of them. The greater the human being's will to receive, the greater is also the spiritual will of the spiritual beings who can impart the spiritual gifts to him but who are also subject to divine laws, thus they can only work with the person's fullest agreement, which is expressed in a strong will....

받으려는 강한 의지나 약한 의지. 하나님을 향한 사랑.

사람의 의지가 외부의 영향을 견딜 만큼 충분히 강하지 않으면, 영의 역사가 약해진다. 사람 안의 영의 불씨는 실제 영의 나라로부터 오는 흐름을 받지만, 영의 불씨가 인간의 혼이 영의 선물을 이해할 수 있게 해줄 수 없거나, 인간의 혼이 자신에게 주어진 것을 들을 수 없다. 왜냐면 의지가 단지 하나님의 선물에만 향해 있지 않기 때문이다. 이런 상태는 그가 몸에 갈망할 만한 것으로 보이는 모든 것에서 돌이킬 힘을 찾을 때까지 계속된다.

영의 세계와의 모든 연결은 영의 세계를 향해 완전하게 헌신하는 일이다. 그러므로 세상적인, 육체적 욕망이 뒤로 물러나야만 하고, 그렇게 할 의지를 드릴 수 없는 곳에서는 방해받지 않는 영의 역사가 불가능하다. 그렇지 않으면 하나님의 선물이 사람의 의지와는 반대로 그에게 흘러가게 된다. 그러나 의지가 은혜를 받는 쪽으로 완전히 향해야만 한다. 사람의 의지가 유일하게 결정적이다. 왜냐면 사람의 의지가 심장의 사랑의 정도를 증거하기 때문이다. 하나님을 향한 사랑은 항상 사람의 뜻으로 나타난다. 그러므로 받으려는 의지에 따라 사람의 하나님을 향한 사랑과 일치하게 된다.

심장이 하나님을 향하면, 모든 장애물을 극복하려는 의지도 또한 강하다. 그러나 의지가 약하면, 하나님을 향한 심장의 소망도 크지 않다. 그러므로 영의 나라에서 흘러나오는 흐름이 혼에게 전할 수 있을 정도로 효력이 나타나지 않는다. 긴밀한 기도가 실제 의지의 힘을 증가시킬 수 있다. 그러나 이런 긴밀함은 또한 하나님을 향한 사랑에 달려 있다. 그러므로 사람이 항상 같은 사랑을 행하려는 의지와 사랑을 행하는 일 가운데 있지 않는다면, 받을 수 있는 능력이 항상 같지 않다는 사실은 이해할 수 사실이다. 사람은 끊임없이 주기를 원해야만 한다. 왜냐하면 그러면 그가 또한 계속 받을 수 있기 때문이다. 끊임없이 주기를 원하는 사람은, 하나님으로부터 온 영이 역사할 수 있기 위한 전제 조건인, 하나님을 향한 그의 사랑과 하나님을 향한 그의 의지를 증거하기 때문이다.

헌신이 더 깊고, 긴밀할수록, 영이 혼에게 전달하기 원하는 것을 혼이 더 이해하기 쉽게 받아드린다. 왜냐면 그러면 혼이 이 땅의 세상과의 모든 묶임에서 자유롭게 되고, 영의 나라에서 온 선물을 받기 때문이다. 영적인 선물은 귀중한 재물이다. 그러므로 영적인 선물을 갈망하고 받아야 한다. 그러므로 자신의 소유로 만들 수 있기 위해 분산되지 않은 사람의 의지가 필요하다. 받으려는 사람의 의지가 클수록, 이에 따라, 그에게 영적 은사를 줄 수 있는 영의 존재의 주려는 의지가 커진다. 그러나 영의 존재도 하나님의 법칙에 적용을 받고, 그러므로 단지 강한 의지로 나타나는 사람의 전적인 동의 아래 역사할 수 있다.
