Strong or weakened will to receive.... love for God....

The spirit's effectiveness is weakened if the human being's will is not strong enough to resist external influences. The spiritual spark in the human being certainly receives the influx from the spiritual kingdom but it is unable to make the spiritual gifts comprehensible to the human being's soul, or alternatively, the human being's soul is incapable of hearing what it is offered because the will is not exclusively focussed on the divine gift. And this until he has mustered the strength to turn away from everything that appears desirable to the body. Every connection with the spiritual world is an act of complete devotion to it, therefore the earthly, the bodily desire must be put aside, and where the will for it cannot be mustered, there an unhindered work of the spirit is not possible, otherwise the favour of God would flow towards man against his will, but which must be completely turned towards the receiving of this favour. The will of man alone is decisive, for it testifies to the degree of love of the heart. Love for God is always expressed in the human being's will, and so the will to receive will also be in accordance with the human being's love for God. If the heart pushes towards God, then the will is also strong to overcome every obstacle; but if the will is weak, then the heart's desire for God is also not great, and therefore the currents from the spiritual kingdom cannot become so effective that they can be imparted to the soul. Heartfelt prayer certainly increases the strength of will, but this intimacy is also dependent on love for God, so that it is therefore understandable that the ability to receive is not always the same if the human being does not always have the same will to love and activity of love. The human being must constantly want to give, for then he will also constantly be allowed to receive, for the former testifies to his love for God, his will turned towards Him, which is the prerequisite for the spirit to be able to work out of God. And the deeper and more intimate the devotion is, the more comprehensibly the soul hears what the spirit wants to convey to it, for it then loosens every bond with the earthly world and accepts the gifts from the spiritual world. Spiritual gifts are precious commodities that are to be desired and received accordingly and therefore require the undivided will of the human being in order to be able to take possession of them. The greater the human being's will to receive, the greater is also the spiritual will of the spiritual beings who can impart the spiritual gifts to him but who are also subject to divine laws, thus they can only work with the person's fullest agreement, which is expressed in a strong will....

Starker oder geschwächter Wille zum Empfangen.... Liebe zu Gott....

Des Geistes Wirksamkeit wird abgeschwächt, wenn des Menschen Wille nicht stark genug ist, sich den Einflüssen von außen zu widersetzen. Der Geistesfunke im Menschen nimmt wohl den Zustrom aus dem geistigen Reich in Empfang, er vermag aber nicht, der Seele des Menschen die Geistesgaben verständlich zu machen, oder auch, die Seele des Menschen ist nicht fähig, das ihr Gebotene zu vernehmen, weil der Wille nicht ausschließlich der göttlichen Gabe gilt. Und das so lange, bis er die Stärke aufgebracht hat, sich abzuwenden von allem, was dem Körper begehrenswert erscheint. Es ist jede Verbindung mit der geistigen Welt ein Akt völliger Hingabe an diese, also muß das Irdische, das körperliche Verlangen zurückgestellt werden, und wo der Wille dazu nicht aufgebracht werden kann, dort ist ein ungehindertes Wirken des Geistes nicht möglich, ansonsten die Gnade Gottes dem Menschen zuströmen würde wider dessen Willen, der aber gänzlich dem Empfangen dieser Gnade zugewandt sein muß. Der Wille des Menschen allein ist bestimmend, denn er bezeugt den Liebesgrad des Herzens. Die Liebe zu Gott kommt immer im Willen des Menschen zum Ausdruck, und so wird auch der Wille zum Empfangen entsprechend der Liebe des Menschen zu Gott sein. Drängt das Herz Gott entgegen, so ist auch der Wille stark, jedes Hindernis zu überwinden; ist der Wille aber schwach, so ist auch das Verlangen des Herzens nach Gott nicht groß, und also können die Strömungen aus dem geistigen Reich nicht so wirksam werden, daß sie der Seele vermittelt werden können. Inniges Gebet vermehrt wohl die Willensstärke, doch auch diese Innigkeit ist abhängig von der Liebe zu Gott, so daß es also verständlich ist, daß die Empfangsfähigkeit nicht immer die gleiche ist, wenn der Mensch sich nicht in immer gleichem Liebewillen und Liebewirken befindet. Es muß der Mensch ständig geben wollen, denn er wird dann auch ständig empfangen dürfen, denn ersteres bezeugt seine Liebe zu Gott, seinen Ihm zugewandten Willen, der Vorbedingung ist, daß der Geist aus Gott wirken kann. Und je tiefer und inniger die Hingabe ist, desto verständlicher vernimmt die Seele, was der Geist ihr vermitteln möchte, denn sie löset dann jede Bindung mit der irdischen Welt und nimmt die Gaben aus der geistigen Welt entgegen. Geistige Gabe ist kostbares Gut, das nun auch entsprechend begehrt und empfangen werden soll und daher den ungeteilten Willen des Menschen benötigt, um in seinen Besitz übergehen zu können. Je größer der Empfangswille des Menschen ist, desto größer ist auch der Gebewille der geistigen Wesen, die ihm die geistigen Gaben vermitteln können, die aber auch den göttlichen Gesetzen unterworfen sind, also nur wirken können mit vollster Übereinstimmung des Menschen, die in einem starken Willen zum Ausdruck kommt....
