Bridging the gap between man and God....

The gulf between man and God is unbridgeable as long as he himself does not make an effort to come closer to Him. The distance cannot be reduced if the human being is not aware of it. However, he neither feels connected to God nor distant from Him because he does not recognize the connection between the creator and His creatures, and consequently he does nothing to change a state which is contrary to God.... He feels no separation from God because he does not believe himself to be originally united with Him. And this ignorant state is so extremely detrimental to the human being's soul. For it does not strive to escape it, but feels at ease in it. And the gulf does not narrow but rather widens because the human being, who does not feel connected to God, does not lead a life of love either and therefore does not attain knowledge. And he rejects all advice, he ridicules and mocks it and does not do the slightest to bridge the gap. And therefore salvation can hardly be brought to these people, for they reject divine words spoken through human mouths; they do not pay attention to the events around them or do not attach the significance to them which it has; consequently, they remain behind in their spiritual development. For God must inevitably work in them with His strength, but this is completely impossible where the will and the desire for God do not form a bridge to Him. These people will certainly complete their earthly life but will not be able to demonstrate spiritual success, for their life will be completely separate from God, turned towards the world and without any spiritual endeavour. And at the end of their earthly life they are still just as distant from God as they were at the beginning of their embodiment on earth as a human being. God tries to remedy this state by seemingly isolating Himself completely, i.e., He leaves people in their self-chosen darkness and does not express Himself until they expect a sign from Him as proof of His existence.... And then He sends them this sign, but in a way that is not very satisfying for them.... He proves His power to people but otherwise leaves them untouched so as not to restrict their free will. And the human being must try to connect himself with the power which he did not want to recognize. Only then will he build a bridge across the gulf and only then can God Himself show Himself to him, give him strength and grace and help him to ascend....

Überbrücken der Kluft zwischen dem Menschen und Gott....

Unüberbrückbar ist die Kluft zwischen dem Menschen und Gott, solange jener nicht selbst Anstalten macht, Ihm näherzukommen. Die Entfernung kann nicht verringert werden, wenn der Mensch sich derer nicht bewußt ist. Er fühlt sich aber weder mit Gott verbunden, noch Ihm fernstehend, weil er den Zusammenhang des Schöpfers mit Seinen Geschöpfen nicht erkennt, und folglich tut er auch nichts, um einen Zustand zu ändern, der Gott-widrig ist.... Er empfindet keine Trennung von Gott, weil er sich nicht mit Ihm ursprünglich verbunden wähnt. Und dieser unwissende Zustand ist so überaus nachteilig für die Seele des Menschen. Denn sie strebt nicht danach, ihm zu entfliehen, sondern fühlt sich in ihm wohl. Und die Kluft verringert sich nicht, sondern wird eher noch vergrößert, weil der Mensch, der sich nicht mit Gott verbunden fühlt, auch kein Liebeleben führt und deshalb nicht zum Wissen kommt. Und jegliche Hinweise lehnt er ab, er verlacht und verspottet sie und tut nicht das Geringste, um die Kluft zu überbrücken. Und darum kann jenen Menschen schwerlich Rettung gebracht werden, denn göttliche Worte durch Menschenmund gesprochen, lehnen sie ab; des Geschehens um sich achten sie nicht oder legen ihm nicht die Bedeutung bei, die es hat; folglich bleiben sie in ihrer geistigen Entwicklung zurück. Denn unweigerlich muß Gott mit Seiner Kraft in ihnen wirken, dies aber ist gänzlich ausgeschlossen, wo der Wille und das Verlangen nach Gott nicht eine Brücke bilden zu Ihm. Es werden diese Menschen wohl das Erdenleben zurücklegen, jedoch geistigen Erfolg nicht aufweisen können, denn ihr Leben geht völlig getrennt von Gott, der Welt zugewandt und ohne jegliches geistige Streben. Und sie sind am Ende ihres Erdenlebens noch genau so Gott-fern, wie sie zu Beginn ihrer Verkörperung auf Erden als Mensch waren. Diesen Zustand sucht Gott zu beheben, indem Er Sich scheinbar völlig isoliert, d.h., Er läßt die Menschen in ihrer selbstgewählten Dunkelheit und äußert Sich nicht, so lange, bis sie ein Zeichen von Ihm erwarten als Beweis Seiner Existenz.... Und dann sendet Er ihnen dieses Zeichen, doch in einer sie wenig befriedigenden Weise.... Er beweiset den Menschen Seine Macht, lässet sie aber sonst unberührt, um ihren freien Willen nicht zu beschränken. Und es muß der Mensch versuchen, sich zu verbinden mit der Macht, Die er nicht anerkennen wollte. Dann erst schlägt er eine Brücke über die Kluft, und dann erst kann Gott Selbst Sich ihm erzeigen, ihm Kraft und Gnade vermitteln und ihm zum Aufstieg verhelfen....
