Effectiveness of the divine word....

God's word, which comes from above, testifies to God's strength, to His love and wisdom and is therefore a gift of grace because God offers it to people who have not yet reached the state of maturity required by the influx of God's strength. And that is why the willingness to receive is required before the word of God can take effect on people, i.e., before it can be felt as an influx of strength. It can certainly be heard by all people, that is, it can be made accessible to them and yet pass the ear of the individual without effect, then the person is not willing to receive it and it remains ineffective for him. It is therefore up to every person how he adapts himself to the word which guides God's love to earth, but his willingness to receive it is always a prerequisite for the grace and strength to flow through him. And the heartfelt devotion to God ensures that the word becomes effective in a way that helps the person to spiritual maturity.... Anyone who receives the word of God without resistance will feel its effect in increased activity of love, he will feel urged to carry out actions which correspond to the commandment of love for God and his neighbour, he will have an ever-growing desire for divine nourishment, he will become able to see, i.e. grasp what was previously incomprehensible to him, and the knowledge of spiritual truths will make him happy. Thus the stream of strength will flow through him and influence his activity on earth, his way of life in a God-pleasing way. And yet, the same word can also remain ineffective with people who are inwardly closed, who are still distant from God and do not have the will to reduce their distance from Him. It fades away in their ears and leaves no impression, for an inner resistance makes the heart incapable of receiving the flow of strength and thus the human being's soul remains completely untouched by it. God therefore gives incessantly, but people do not accept, and therefore the maturing of the one who rejects it is questionable because he absolutely needs the strength from God for it, but this can only be given to him through the word of God. His activity of love is insignificant and so he does nothing to change his spiritual state.... He neither recognizes God's love nor His wisdom and omnipotence, he passes by everything blindly and yet is always the cause of his blindness because he does not take in what is offered to him, because he does not let the word speak to his heart which God directs to earth and because he does not follow what is suggested to him.... For his will alone is decisive as to whether the power and grace of God becomes effective in him. But God's love constantly offers His grace to people, the strength from God constantly flows to earth and God constantly tries to help people in their distress.... For His love no longer ceases....

하나님의 말씀의 효과.

위에서 오는 하나님의 말씀은 하나님의 힘을, 하나님의 사랑과 지혜를 증거하고, 따라서 은혜의 선물이다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 힘을 받기 위해 요구되는 성숙한 상태에 도달하지 못한 사람들에게 하나님이 자신의 힘을 주기 때문이다. 그러므로 하나님의 말씀이 사람들에게 영향을 미치기 전에, 즉 하나님의 말씀을 힘의 공급으로 느끼기 전에, 자원하여 받아들이려는 의지가 필요하다. 모든 사람이 실제 하나님의 말씀을 들을 수 있다. 때문에 그들에게 하나님의 말씀을 이해할 수 있게 해줄 수 있다. 그러나 하나님의 말씀이 효력을 나타내지 않고 각각의 사람들의 귀를 스쳐지나 간다. 그러면 사람이 하나님의 말씀을 받아드릴 준비가 되지 않은 것이고, 하나님의 말씀의 효과가 그에게 나타나지 않는다.

그러므로 모든 사람이 자신이 하나님의 사랑이 이 땅에 주는 말씀에 어떤 자세를 취할지 자유롭게 정할 수 있다. 그러나 은혜와 능력이 그에게 흘러가기 위해서는 항상 자원하여 받아들이려는 그의 의지가 전제 조건이다. 하나님을 향한 긴밀한 헌신이 말씀이 사람이 영적으로 성숙하도록 돕는 방식으로 역사하게 한다. 저항 없이 하나님의 말씀을 영접하는 사람은 증가된 사랑을 행하는 일을 통해 하나님의 말씀이 주는 효과를 느낄 것이고, 그는 하나님 사랑과 이웃의 사랑의 계명에 해당하는 행동을 하도록 촉구 받는 것을 느낄 것이다. 그는 하나님의 양식에 대한 갈망이 계속 증가할 것이다. 다시 말해 이전에 그가 이해할 수 없었던 것을 이해하게 될 것이고, 영적 진리를 아는 지식이 그를 행복하게 만들 것이다.

그러므로 힘의 흐름이 그에게 충만하게 되고, 이 땅의 그의 활동과 그의 삶은 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 방식으로 영향을 받을 것이다. 그러나 같은 말씀이 아직 하나님과 멀리 떨어져 있고, 하나님과의 거리를 좁히려는 의지가 없는, 내적으로 자신을 닫는 사람들에게는 효과를 낼 수 없다. 왜냐면 내면의 저항이 심장이 힘의 흐름을 받을 수 없게 만들고, 이로써 인간의 혼이 전혀 영향을 받지 못하기 때문이다. 그러므로 하나님은 끊임없이 주지만, 사람들이 받아들이지 않는다. 그러므로 하나님이 주는 것을 거부하는 자들의 성숙은 의문시된다. 왜냐면 그가 성숙하기 위해, 단지 하나님의 말씀을 통해서만 그에게 줄 수 있는 하나님의 힘이 절대적으로 필요하기 때문이다.

그는 사랑을 행하는 일에 의미를 부여하지 않는다. 그러므로 그는 자신의 영의 상태를 바꾸기 위해 아무 일도 하지 않는다. 그는 하나님의 사랑과 하나님의 지혜와 하나님의 전능함을 깨닫지 못하고, 모든 것을 맹목적으로 지나친다. 그러나 그가 자신에게 제공된 것을 받지 못하기 때문에, 그가 하나님이 이 땅으로 주는 말씀이 심장에 말하게 하지 않기 때문에, 그가 자신에게 제안된 일에 순종하지 않기 때문에, 자신이 그가 보지 못하게 하는 원인이다. 왜냐면 그의 의지가 유일하게 하나님의 힘과 은혜가 그에게 역사할지를 결정하기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님의 사랑이 끊임없이 사람들에게 하나님의 은혜를 베풀고, 하나님의 힘이 쉬지 않고 이 땅으로 흐르고, 하나님은 끊임없이 사람들이 필요로 하는 도움을 주려고 노력한다. 왜냐면 하나님의 사랑이 더 이상 멈추지 않기 때문이다.
