Effectiveness of the divine word....

God's word, which comes from above, testifies to God's strength, to His love and wisdom and is therefore a gift of grace because God offers it to people who have not yet reached the state of maturity required by the influx of God's strength. And that is why the willingness to receive is required before the word of God can take effect on people, i.e., before it can be felt as an influx of strength. It can certainly be heard by all people, that is, it can be made accessible to them and yet pass the ear of the individual without effect, then the person is not willing to receive it and it remains ineffective for him. It is therefore up to every person how he adapts himself to the word which guides God's love to earth, but his willingness to receive it is always a prerequisite for the grace and strength to flow through him. And the heartfelt devotion to God ensures that the word becomes effective in a way that helps the person to spiritual maturity.... Anyone who receives the word of God without resistance will feel its effect in increased activity of love, he will feel urged to carry out actions which correspond to the commandment of love for God and his neighbour, he will have an ever-growing desire for divine nourishment, he will become able to see, i.e. grasp what was previously incomprehensible to him, and the knowledge of spiritual truths will make him happy. Thus the stream of strength will flow through him and influence his activity on earth, his way of life in a God-pleasing way. And yet, the same word can also remain ineffective with people who are inwardly closed, who are still distant from God and do not have the will to reduce their distance from Him. It fades away in their ears and leaves no impression, for an inner resistance makes the heart incapable of receiving the flow of strength and thus the human being's soul remains completely untouched by it. God therefore gives incessantly, but people do not accept, and therefore the maturing of the one who rejects it is questionable because he absolutely needs the strength from God for it, but this can only be given to him through the word of God. His activity of love is insignificant and so he does nothing to change his spiritual state.... He neither recognizes God's love nor His wisdom and omnipotence, he passes by everything blindly and yet is always the cause of his blindness because he does not take in what is offered to him, because he does not let the word speak to his heart which God directs to earth and because he does not follow what is suggested to him.... For his will alone is decisive as to whether the power and grace of God becomes effective in him. But God's love constantly offers His grace to people, the strength from God constantly flows to earth and God constantly tries to help people in their distress.... For His love no longer ceases....

Wirksamkeit des göttlichen Wortes....

Gottes Wort, das von oben kommt, zeugt von der Kraft Gottes, von Seiner Liebe und Weisheit und ist darum ein Gnadengeschenk, weil Gott es den Menschen bietet, die noch nicht den Reifezustand erreicht haben, den der Zustrom der Kraft Gottes bedingt. Und darum wird die Aufnahmewilligkeit gefordert, bevor das Wort Gottes an den Menschen wirksam werden kann, d.h., bevor es empfunden werden kann als Kraft-Zustrom. Es kann wohl von allen Menschen vernommen werden, also es kann ihnen nahegebracht werden und doch wirkungslos am Ohr des einzelnen vorübergehen, dann ist der Mensch nicht bereit, es aufzunehmen, und es bleibt wirkungslos für diesen. Es steht daher jedem Menschen frei, wie er sich zu dem Wort, das Gottes Liebe zur Erde leitet, einstellt, immer aber ist seine Empfangswilligkeit Voraussetzung, daß ihn die Gnade und Kraft durchströmt. Und die innige Hingabe an Gott bewerkstelligt, daß das Wort in einer Weise wirksam wird, die dem Menschen zu seelischer Reife verhilft.... Wer das Wort Gottes aufnimmt ohne Widerstand, der wird seine Wirkung verspüren in vermehrter Liebetätigkeit, er wird sich gedrängt fühlen zu Handlungen, die dem Gebot der Gottes- und Nächstenliebe entsprechen, er wird ein stets wachsendes Verlangen haben nach göttlicher Speise, er wird sehend werden, d.h. erfassen, was ihm zuvor unverständlich war, und das Wissen um geistige Wahrheiten wird ihn glücklich machen. Also wird ihn der Kraftstrom durchfluten und seine Tätigkeit auf Erden, seinen Lebenswandel beeinflussen in Gott-gefälliger Weise. Und doch kann das gleiche Wort auch wirkungslos bleiben bei den Menschen, die sich innerlich verschließen, die Gott noch fern sind und nicht den Willen haben, die Entfernung von Ihm zu verringern. Es vertönet an ihren Ohren und läßt keinen Eindruck zurück, denn ein innerlicher Widerstand macht das Herz unfähig zur Aufnahme des Kraftstromes, und also bleibt die Seele des Menschen völlig unberührt davon. Gott also gibt unausgesetzt, die Menschen nehmen aber nicht an, und daher ist das Ausreifen dessen in Frage gestellt, der sich ablehnend verhält, weil er unbedingt die Kraft aus Gott dazu benötigt, diese ihm aber nur durch das Wort Gottes zugehen kann. Seine Liebetätigkeit ist unbedeutend, und so tut er nichts, um seinen geistigen Zustand zu ändern.... Er erkennt weder die Liebe Gottes, noch Seine Weisheit und Allmacht, er geht blind an allem vorüber und ist doch stets der Urheber seiner Blindheit, weil er nicht aufnimmt, was ihm geboten wird, weil er das Wort nicht zum Herzen sprechen läßt, das Gott zur Erde leitet, und weil er nicht befolgt, was ihm nahegelegt wird.... Denn sein Wille allein ist entscheidend, ob die Kraft und Gnade Gottes an ihm wirksam wird. Unentwegt aber bietet die Liebe Gottes den Menschen Seine Gnade an, unentwegt strömt die Kraft aus Gott zur Erde, und unentwegt sucht Gott, den Menschen Hilfe zu bringen in ihrer Not.... Denn Seine Liebe höret nicht mehr auf....
